Great software for a beginner

The information booklet is concise and easy to understand. The steps of editing is also easy to accomplish and the export system has a variety of good options. I have not tried all of these options yet, but I am sure this is a good software and I have no doubt to recommend it to a friend. The downloading process into my computer was easy and it did not need to temporarily disable the antivirus protection system.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have not used this software yet but I was unhappy with the install and the ridiculous software protection. The box says its compatible with widows 8. This is not true entirely. The disk included is only compatible with windows 7. You have to download the windows 8 version. You can't just install it out of the box, you must go online. The license included Locks to one E-mail and PC. I guess this will make the software useless if your PC breaks, you need to upgrade or if you own more than 1 PC and want the convenience of using it on more than one machine. The so called book that comes with it is little more than a pamphlet. I have not really used the software yet so I can't evaluate it's usefulness but I was annoyed enough to write a review now because of the other issues.

Posted .I would like to apologize for the frustration you experienced while installing our software. Our two-step registration process is unique and, as you mentioned, while it does increase security, it does take a little additional time.
I did follow up on the CD not working with Windows 8 and you are correct, I apologize for the inconvenience. However, during the installation process, you are asked if you want to use the version on the CD or upgrade to the most recent version, which is a Windows 8 install. If you choose the "Check for Updates" option, the installation will proceed with the correct Windows 8 install. We do recommend that all users, regardless of the platform upgrade to the most recent version, since it is free upon install and for the first 90 days after registering your product, and will give you the best version of our software currently available.
If you would like to have a CD backup with the recent version, please contact our customer support, we would be happy to send it to you.
You are correct that the license locks to one Email and PC, as it is a single-user license. However, if your PC breaks or you purchase a new PC, you are able to deactivate it and install it on a new machine. Please hold onto your registration code in a safe place as well as your install file.
We worked hand-in-hand with 'For Dummies' to create a Video Editing book that takes you through the basics of video editing with VideoPad. I hope that while you were disappointed at the length, you are finding the information useful and enjoying our award winning video editing software.

NCH responce was to send me a survey on 5/18/2014 ???i did survey today is 5/22/2014 not a word from NCH They have been no help at all !!! What a waste of time and money
