The sound quality is much improved on this one. I did like the size/shape of the originals a little better because we could put them on stands that work as outlet covers in small spaces like the bathroom. With this being a little bigger I'm not sure how well that would work out now.

The sound quality is great! It could be louder and the soundstage/clarity could use a little more work, but it’s still a nice room filling sound!

Excellent speakers, but NOT GOOD for TV output.

My goal was to use a pair of these with my Samsung HDTV with Bluetooth connection. While it worked, I just couldn’t handle of couple of issues: 1) it paired perfectly to my speaker combo, BUT there was 1-2 second delay in the sound from the words spoken on the screen, and in the end it was just too annoying to hear the delay that didn’t match the timing of the people taking on TV; 2) my 2024 Samsung smart TV would not reconnect automatically to these speakers each time I turned on the TV, so if have to do a quick 10 second setup of my TV speaker output preference each time I turned on the TV. Just too much of a hassle. Looks like I’m stuck with hardwired speakers to avoid the Bluetooth audio delay issues.

Integrates with Google Home, but needs more bass

Its a smart speaker that integrates nicely into Google Home (which is a great app!). Not a huge level of bass and hoping to see a Nest Audo Max later this year. A bit deeper bass would have made my review 5 stars. If you are just looking for an improvement over a Homepod Mini or Google Point (yes its also a Smart Speaker), then this is the product for you. I bought 5 and put them all over my house like a Sonos set and it was convenient.

The speaker sounds great. Pairing is seamless and function in Google Home is good. If you want an excellent speaker, go with Sonos. If you want good pairing wirelessly, go with this one

This has great sound for the size. I do think it is a little over priced but if you are invested in Google, you have to pay to play. This thing is great for my SiriusXM, my alarms for work in the morning, and turning off my LIFX light bulb. I miss the multi colored lights but that's a small complaint.

I find some low sounds not defined and clear and since this is called nest audio…. I think it’s one of the best if not the best options in smart speaker in this price range and it does the work really well. It’s a 4.5 for me.
