    It works. Not perfectly, as it had disconnects off and on. For the most part, it was a steady connection. I ended up getting a new motherboard that had a built-in Wi-Fi card so I gave this to my father who is having better results. Possible it was my router, but I knocked one star off because of the headache of getting it to work in the first place. The dock it came with was nice.

    ...And now I need USB 3 ports. I remember there was G, and then N; now there is AC. I didn't realize anything had changed until my old adapter adapter died after 8 years of faithful service. I picked this adapter simply because I've had good luck with Netgear equipment and it was on sale. I had a couple hiccups installing the driver but easily resolved. It has worked fine since installed though it keeps telling me I'm getting less than peak performance since I don't have a USB 3 port for it.
