    This thing have ac capability. Depending on how fast your router can emit signal; this device works fine for gaming if you have fast wifi.

    My desktop computer is at one end of the house and my wi-fi router is at the other end. Plugged it in, downloaded the driver and worked like a charm! With my internet, it runs consistently at 84 mbps (faster than my MacBook Pro!). I bought a cheap wi-fi dongle that I thought would suffice, but it didn't work. If your computer is at a far end of your house or a basement, I would recommend spending the extra on this dongle instead of one of the cheaper sub $20 ones.
