Customers frequently mention the ease of use, strong WiFi performance, and reliable signal strength as significant advantages. Many appreciate the adapter's good range and relatively easy installation process. While some users noted the small size of the adapter, others reported occasional software issues. Overall, the positive feedback on performance and ease of use outweighs the negative comments.

It's nice when a product works as advertised. Simple to install, configure, and the improvement from my laptop's built-in wireless NIC was significant.

NETGEAR AC1200 Solved my Problem!

My two year old desktop computer began having problems with slowdowns, freezes and dropping internet connections. After troubleshooting my internet signal strength, and my modem and router (which seemed to be working properly); I decided that the internal WiFi adapter in my desktop was obviously not getting a strong enough signal to keep a good connection. Purchased this NETGEAR external USB WiFi Adapter; installed it with minimum effort, and immediately had a good strong signal. Would highly recommend for anyone having the same problems.

Great WiFi Adapter

I have a ASUS U56E laptop and the internal chip worked for about 2 years and then gave up. I'd been reading that this a common occurrence with most ASUS laptops.
I've also been reading for weeks on how to fix this issue, the consensus has been to either purchase a new router or a adapter. Since I have several other WiFi controlled products like 3 Roku's and Grand kids with laptops and they never fail, I knew it was my ASUS laptop, thus the decision to purchase the WiFi adapter. Additional reading led me to purchase the Netgear AC 1200 dual band adapter. My router is also dual band so I knew it would work.
After the easy installation I've set my laptop to receive on 5 GHz only. Since then I've never had the laptop drop off or lose signal from the router. Prior to the purchase I was frustrated all the time... now I'm mostly bored as there's no longer any issues with connectivity.

AC wifi is the way to go

The NETGEAR - AC1200 Wireless 3.0 adaptor is the best way to go for the best gaming experience over wifi. This little adaptor carries a punch to its speed. Perhaps i would also suggest to upgrade your wifi router when you buy this device, as it might slow your internet router speeds if you have an outdated N series router or a non AC series wifi router....no bueno!!
No other USB WIFI adaptor beats this one, clearly the better option

Very Fast, easy to setup and use. Love that it is USB 3.0, which makes it even faster. Do npt have any issues with disconnections or anyhting liek that. Very solid. Also love that you can either use the stand that comes with it or plug it directly into a USB 3.0 port.

This device is good looking and very fast, but I have a problem with something. It says you must install the software first, fine. Then the disc gives you an option to install windows drivers only, great, I did that and it seemed to work, but almost instantly it went ahead and installed the Netgear Genie software anyway and I didn't like that. Now I kept it to make sure it works the best is can, and I just don't feel like messing around with drivers and stuff any more, but feels like it was pushed on my so for that I have to take a star. Otherwise the adapter works great and paired with a good AS network it's insanely fast.

Great ACWIFI but USB 3.0 is REQUIRED
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
I used it to upgrade wifi connection speed on my 4 year old computer. However it didn't achieve expected results. My computer doesn't support usb 3.0 so the ultimate speed promised by manufacture was unreachable for my computer. There is no difference in streaming speed when using usb 2.0.
Positives: Quick installation, great features wifi upgrading features if you have usb 3.0.
Negatives: Big sticker takes up space of 1.5 usb when usb ports are limited on device. Basically, big rectangle design blocks close located USBs when one used for wifi another one is partially covered. Of course there is extension cord but personally didn't want it to be extended.

Bought an HP desktop for my son with integrated wifi adapter. The DSL modem w/ WIFI could not reach the room with this desktop. Bought this on a guess that it might solve the problem. Was shocked to see the signal strength was near max with this and could not achieve any signal strength with the integrated wifi. Highly recommend.
