Customers frequently mention the ease of use, strong WiFi performance, and reliable signal strength as significant advantages. Many appreciate the adapter's good range and relatively easy installation process. While some users noted the small size of the adapter, others reported occasional software issues. Overall, the positive feedback on performance and ease of use outweighs the negative comments.

New AC tech and solid performance

This item solved my slow mysterious 5-10mbps speedtest benchmarks. If you are having slow inconsistent speeds make sure to get a better wifi adapter like this one. This product is capable of taking advantage of 5ghz networks. After upgrading my router and also this product I was able to hit my peak performance speeds all day long.
The price is a bit high but you won't regret it. No dropped connections and also new tech is always a plus.

This is my second purchase, first returned because Genie from Netgear couldn't detect adapter. No lights ,no nothing, tried on 2 different PC ,same result.Returned, maybe DOD.Get second one, same thing!!!!Following instruction first start downloading software and plug in adapter, nothing.
Went to control panel/system/device manager/network and I can see it,but genie can't.Right click on device /update driver/choose file and finally start working ,light on device start blinking...good sign :).Run genie again without unplugging adapter and now is working very good.

Bought this as my connection was cutting in and out with my old adapter of 5 years. This one works much better than the old one ever did, has a convenient docking station to place on my desk and has a sleak design that I actually kind of like having it visible. It was easy to install, just make sure you run the software on the CD (or download it off netgear's site) prior to plugging it in.

After using the older Netgear 300, this is leaps and bounds beyond that hardware. Best signal I've ever received from my wireless broadband connection.

Great Upgrade from Old Mac Pro Wifi Card!

I have an old Mac Pro running Bootcamp and had really old Wifi card (Airport Extreme a/b/g/n) - After plugging in this device, not only I get a better signal strength, but my internet speed increases from 50-60 to 100-110 MBps and much more stable.
Highly recommend it to video watchers, gamers, and HD streamers.

Purchased this so I wouldn't need to run a long cable to the router. Works just as if it was plugged in and fast! No cons here.

Probably the best out the ...so far.

Quite frankly I picked this up at my local Best Buy because I didn't want to wait for Asus's USB-N53. I didn't expect much from it since Asus's USB was supposed to be the King. Wow! Low and behold it maxed out at my ethernet speed (180Mbps). Therfore it mostly has spare in the tank to go. I honestly believe it can reach the 900+ Mbps that some are lucky enough to acheive. I only gave it 4 stars because your kid could probably break it off in your USB slot (like all of them). Long live the "New King".

Great product, ... only one complaint...

My son has a PC with a dead on-board ethernet controller, so we used this to get him up and running. (lightning strike....)
Works great. Good range, fast as advertised (when used with an ASUS AC router..)
My only complaint, .... I don't like needing to use third party software to control wireless devices. Windows Zero Config works perfectly fine, ... let it do it's job. :) That being said, ... almost all major companies are doing the same thing, so it only loses 1 star for this...

Great Extender for the price

I bought this after having bandwidth issues at home mainly due to our router being on the other side of the house. Before this Extender I was getting roughly 5 - 10Mbps but after installing this, I had gained speeds of up to 150mbps. This obviously depends on your Internet speed from your provider as well as the router you have, but this Extender made a huge difference. I will say the setup is not plug n play as it suggest, at least in my experience. I had to tweak the LAN and wireless settings on my laptop but I don't know if it is because of Windows 10 or not. I also had to bridge the connection but after all that, this Extender does its job and does it well. Definitely recommend this product.

Couldn't get it to work

I have 2 desktops in a back bedroom that I wanted to add to the network. I was going to buy a wireless bridge, but the salesperson told me to get these. I couldn't get it work on either computer (Both running windows 7). The drivers would install, but then it would say it can't detect the device. After a few hours of fiddling, I gave up.
I have one from a few months ago that works on my HTPC, so it's not ALL bad. My HTPC is newer, so maybe the adapter has issues with older machines.
I returned it and bought the Linksys RE6500 Range Extender, and I had it up and running in 10 minutes.

My review would have been 5 stars if the adapter didn't keep dropping the connection. I had it on my desktop with the adapter and dock on a shelf directly above it. About 20 feet with one wall and a stairwell between it and the router. I installed and uninstalled it several times. I even connected it to my laptop, 15 feet from the router, and it still kept dropping the signal. When it works as it should , it's very fast and loads quickly. I can't depend on it to download anything because of the signal drops. It's being returned today.

Awesome but be sure to use NetGear's drivers!!!

This device started working immediately with default Windows drivers but very poorly. I then used the NetGear driver on the CD and it was so much better. I then used the NetGear CD to update their driver to the latest version from the web site. Awesome performance with the right drivers.
Don't settle for the Windows drivers that work because they don't allow the adapter to work as well as it does with the NetGear drivers.

After the port on my PC for my internet connection on my modem died, I purchased this product. It does allow my PC to connect to the internet, but it's a little slower than before and internet explorer is a little different with it.

Great AC Wifi Adapter

I bought this wifi adapter to pair with the Nighthawk X6 3200 router. Both devices helped solved being able to receive the full speed (150Mbps) that I pay for through my ISP.

I purchased this adapter in store. Looking at the system requirements, I wasn't sure it was compatible with AMD because it said Intel Pentium on the box so I asked an employee for help. Works great! Purchased the 2yr. warranty just in case. Easy to install.

I have a dual band router at home that is provided by Charter and their Spectrum service. I couldn't figure out why my iPhone 6+ was connecting to the 5GHz but my laptop would only connect to the 2.4GHz. Found out that my laptop was too old to connect to the higher band. I just connected this to my laptop, installed it and instantly got the faster speed.

We bought this to use on a desktop PC that we have hooked up to a tv in the bedroom. Our modem is in another room and we can't run a cable straight to the computer. This adapter works like a charm! I tried to use it on a laptop with windows 10 and had a little trouble, but found a workaround and once installed worked there too.
