I upgraded to this router from an 8 yr old NET GEAR router. The router is located in the north end of the basement in a ranch home. The internet services is spotty or non-existent at the south end in main floor.

Needed to purchase a new router as I installed a wireless camera system and my old router was not compatible. Am in IT and spoke to my boss about his recommendation as well as read the online reviews for this brand / model Have to say this router was so easy to hook up and it works great. Am in a 1700 sq foot house and the strength in all the rooms.

I purchased this router to replace my old Netgear N300 after I installed a security camera that uses wifi. The camera and the other devices operate so much smoother. I like the dual band technology, but so far only my iphone is able to use the 5.0ghz. The Genie program is great to monitor what is going on with the network. The price was good too. I am happy.

Just moved into my dorm, and the public wifi wouldn't work with everyone on it. Picked this one up and it Took me literally 2 minutes to set up and get going. Web pages loaded insanely fast, Netflix streamed effortlessly, and my call of duty game play is lagless! With great range, speed, and ease of instillation, it's a must have for the dorm life!

Worse than AOL dial up 20 years ago. Replaced a decent router with paper cups and string. Geek Squad recommended and installed. What a fiasco.

This was my second upgrade to a router for an average sized home; despite the products claims for better service, we haven't experienced it.

    An amazing cutting-edge router

I've been using this router for about half a year now and I have to say that it is an amazing router. While at it's core, it may look just like most of the other Netgear routers, if you're looking for a router with WiFi that outperforms most other consumer home routers, you're looking in the right place. To start off, I must mention that I was a part of the beta testing process for this router, and I received this router for free from Netgear as a part of the testing process. The setup process is simple enough that a user of any experience level should have no issues. Much like the other later model Netgear routers, as soon as you hook up the device, power it on, and try to access a web page, you will be greeted with Netgear's simple and informative setup wizard. In just a few simple clicks, you'll be up and running. Of all of the features that this router has to offer, for the price, the best are the Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11ac Wireless, and Wireless Bridge Mode. However, if you are buying this router because you heard that it has top of the line speeds with the cutting edge 802.11ac, keep in mind 802.11ac is still in its early stages and most people do not yet own a device that will connect to the router at that speed. You have to have a device that supports the 802.11ac protocol to get the theoretical 1300 Mbps speeds (note: the max speed I ever saw while using it with an 802.11ac device was 800 Mbps -- still very amazing!). You might consider buying Netgear's WiFi USB Adapter - AC Dual Band (A6200) if you purchase this router to upgrade an existing computer to AC speeds. The wireless range and speed outperformed any router I have used in the past in both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz modes. Perhaps the most valuable feature for me is the Wireless Bridge Mode. I have an area of my house where I can't run any network lines. The wireless signal from my main router is adequate in this location, but I have a couple devices (Apple TV, for example) that would perform much better if connected by Ethernet wire. Bridge mode allows me to use a second router (I used a second R6250 provided to me by Netgear for beta purposes) operating in bridge mode. The bridge mode router connects to the main router's WiFi network like your computer or smartphone would, and then turns into a 4 port switch which I was able to plug my Apple TV into. Since I was using 2 802.11ac routers, the speed between them was usually close to 800 Mbps. While I could go on about other features this router has, these were the features that were most valuable to me. The router exceeded my expectations in most every way. For the performance of this router, the price listed above is very reasonable and I would definitely recommend this device to home and perhaps even small business users.

I live on the far side of the house, and the router is located in the living room on the other side of house. Thought I needed a simple range extender to add on to my current modem-router provided by my service provider. As it turns out, I needed a true Router to project a stronger wifi signal and this product did the excellent job. no lag, no cuts, just beautiful!!

I was looking for a router that could give me the full capability of the speed Comcast has to offer. I tried two different modem/router combo's but just couldn't get the speed to my wife's pc upstairs. So after returning two combos I went with a separate modem and router set up. And after I was satisfied with the modem I had to return a different brand router which was less expensive and I choose this Netgear model. Although a little pricey from what I wanted to spend I was getting frustrated with my results from other products. My wife's pc is upstairs and the router has to travel thru a ceramic floor and a couple of walls. I choose the dual band router hoping it would do the trick. Since the broadband service I have had for quite a while couldn't give me the speed I was paying for I tried cable internet. Since this Netgear router has the latest technology I decided to think about what lies ahead and spent the money. The ease to set the router up was amazing. Even though I had to go back to Best Buy later and get the Netgear wireless AC adapter for my wife's pc because hers only has b/g/n adapter. Once I got the adapter on her pc then her speed doubled. Connecting to the 5 Ghz band from the router. So far I am satisfied with the purchase.

Great AC Router for the Price

This router has been a great addition to our setup. We have internet service capable of 25 gbps- this makes an AC router a nice addition. It is full featured and it is nice that it has a companion app usable on both android or iphone. The one feature that I would love (and why I don't give it 5 stars) is the ability to schedule a time for the router to reset itself once or twice a week. You can however do this manually or from the companion app.

I picked up this router to replace the old 3500L's we were using. Super easy to setup but the configuration pages were missing a few things that I like to tweak. So I loaded Tomato by Shibby onto the router and it was became a serious workhorse. I will be picking up a second as soon as I can to expand my wifi even farther.

I have researched many routers before buying this router, R6250 has great specs and looks very cool too. Instaling this router was easy. I can see very very improved performance. And also it features airplay and compatible with USB 3. I have to no disconnects, where my previous router I have to restart it two times to three times a week. Definitely this router worth the money you spent.

This is by far the easiest setup I've ever had for a router. The Genie app for my phone is excellent. It literally took 5 mins to get the router running. Of course after changing the SSID and Passkey for both the 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz Bands it took another couple minutes.
