The first time the firmware updated, the router crashed, and I had to spend an hour with support to get it rebooted. (Merely hitting the rest failed.) The wired link through the cat 5 worked fine, but the wifi dropped devices repeatedly. The rated speed never got above about 200Mbps on Verizon gigabyte fiber. After 3-4 months of frustration, I gave up and replaced with a Linksys velops mesh, which worked perfectly out of the box, was easy to use, hasn't dropped a device (yet), and is showing 800+ Mbs speeds. I'm done with Netgear.

Installation is a breeze

Then tweaking was also simple, and allowed me to go from a dead router back online without the aggravation I used to experience in setting up new hardware.

I purchased it on sale for ~ $100 and believe that it is worth the low cost. Also, I am not a serious gamer, so I did not believe it was necessary to invest in a more expensive, higher tech wifi router.

No Netgear anymore

When that happened, I needed to unplug and plug in the power cord to fix it. The last one I owned completely disappeared when I scanned wi-fi.
