    Has a lot of features for the price, but I had problems with setting the router up. Talked to Netgear tech support for nearly an hour and still had problems. Returned to store.

    GOT ZAPPED LIKE MY LAST ONE

    Have had this for literally 2 months and just got zapped again by a thunderstorm, no WAN port, practically worthless. If you decide to get one, a surge protector is an absolute must. Literally worthless without one, honestly extremely dissatisfied with this product all around, just glad I got the 2 yr geek squad protection for it, because without it I would be out >$100 because of this, had a Nighthawk before this that succumb to the same thing.

    Got the V2 (2018 and Later) and It's Not As Good

    Needed an updated router for security cameras. This thing is horrible. The Mbps drop from 100+ to 60 at about 20 feet? Never mind the upload speed, it's almost nonexistent. 100+down, 0.1 up. Would not recommend, no wonder this thing is always on sale.

    Could not hook up phone

    Very disappointed that the salesman didn’t mention that the router we purchased could not support our phone line with internet. Had to return to the store.

    Stopped working after 6 months. Well, it still works but constantly resets itself making the wifi unusable. Worked fine until it didn't. Netgear warranty is good for 90 days from purchase - go figure. Calling into Netgear leads to a call center in India where they provide no technical troubleshooting or advice. They just try to sell you a warranty plan that costs more than the Router itself.

    First this router was difficult to set up. I ended up chatting online. Secondly, this router constantly disconnected I had to unplug and reset it almost every other day. Lastly it came with netgear app which had some cool features but they all wanted you to pay for a subscription after the trial. I had this connected to a netgear modem. I ended up returning due to the constant disconnects.

    Our router performs very poorly. We had the utility company come and reroute this router because we thought maybe something was interfering with the wifi-- we moved it right under the television and it still doesn't allow us to have even one program without many interruptions. Super disappointed in the product and BEST BUYS return policy prevents me from taking this 100$ and some product back. Very disappointing!

    Slowed internet speeds

    I got this router expecting it to boost my internet speeds and extend the WiFi in my house. It did the opposite. The cheap router you get from spectrum gave me speeds of 400+ mb/s. This router choked my speeds down to 150 mb/s. As soon as I plugged in my old router I was back to 400+mb/s. Poor purchase.

    Don’t buy Netgear

    The technical support from netgear are pathetic and unprofessional, I have issues with this router my 2.4G wifi internet speed was extremely slow compared to the 5.0G, after long holding time and 8 phone calls still my issue didn’t resolved, and they were trying not to honor the factory warranty, just a void buying their products and definitely their tech support.

    My house is only 1300 sq ft and it seems to lag in my back bedroom. Was suppose to be for a larger house but it does not stream well at all.

    Worked for 1.5 years, then it stopped

    This product did the job for about 1.5 years...then I noticed that every time I was watching something on Netflix it would reboot. This would happen every 10-15 minutes. Do you know what it’s like to try to watch a movie that stops every 10-15 minutes!!!! I read other reviews that have the same complaint so I know I’m not alone. I just feel that for the price, it’s definitely NOT worth it!

    I use Verizon jetpack as my way of connecting to the internet. I brought the jetpack with me to the store so they could see what I used to connect to the internet and I was told it would work. I asked about better reception with the new unit and was told it would increase my reception. Got home and tried to connect on my wi fi and no luck. Eventually I had to get a computer geek to help and it was he who told me it would not work so I brought it back to Best Buy.

    Piece of crap disconnects constantly!!

    This piece of garbage worked for about a year or so... but lately it just randomly disconnects the WiFi and has to be rebooted to get the connection back. Not sure if it's the firmware or what, but I'm about to TOSS THIS THING IN THE TRASH!! Especially when I'm trying to work from home and my laptop disconnects.

    I purchased this a year ago but only used it this past 6 months, So out of return window. Now it won't work. I have Spectrum and will pay the 5 dollars a month have their router and be done.Don't waste your money.

    Product worked fine, if you have less than 20-25 devices on your network. The real issue is that during a firmware update overnight, Netgear bricked the device to where it’s stuck in a loop or trying to start and giving up. Outside of the return window, and Netgear wants me to spend money to ship it to them to figure it out. No thanks.

    WiFi router 2.4 ghz signals ok

    2.4 ghz works as advertised. 5 ghz simply useless. The signals are either undetected or disconnected after few minutes. Not pleased!!!

    I bought this router to strengthen the signal of my exiting wifi. it performed worse than the old router I had. Very disappointed with it and returned.
