This is exactly what it's called, the dead spot Terminator! Sends ethernet over the power lines from the Netgear Nighthawk from Best Buy. Excellent buy and well worth the money

Bought it to remove dead spots in the house. But, after an hour of diagnosing found out that it only works with a specific router.

You must have wifi strong enough for it to pull from. If your wifi is weak it will not work.

    Great Dead Spot Killer!

Up front: I received this free of charge as part of Netgear's Friends & Family program. This is a great piece of network equipment for everyone, especially those with newer devices that support the AC speed standard. If you want to get rid of a dead spot in your home or business that the wifi just can't reach, this may well be exactly what you need. Here are some pros and cons. Pro + It's aesthetically pleasing and of good build quality. + Easy to use. Routers and adapters like this shouldn't be hard (and you shouldn't have to interact with them much, if at all) and this one is no different. After an easy setup, you can generally tuck it away and forget about it. + AC speeds are great for streaming videos or transferring files or playing online games. Older routers are quickly being outpaced by the speeds of today's internet connections and you want your wireless speeds to keep up, too. + Good price for what you get. Con - This is not a business-class access point, and so it won't have all the high-end, fancy features that paying thousands of dollars might get you. For 99% of home users, that's totally irrelevant, though. As I said above, if you need to reach a dead spot in your home with fast wireless Internet, seriously consider giving this a try! It should work great for you!

First off, I received this product for free as part of Netgear's Friends and Family program. This product works really well, but wasn't the easiest to setup. The directions that came in my package left out the actual instructions for syncing the DST with the router. once I found those online, it was a breeze. You have to have the DST Adapter plugged directly into an outlet (not a power strip/surge protector), and press the DST button the router, and then within 2 minutes have to press the sync button on the DST adapter. I'm not giving this 5 stars due to the size of the DST (not including the antennas, it's 3.5in Long, 1.75 inches wide/thick, and 5 inches tall). It also takes up an electric outlet since it can't work with a surge protector. They also recommend not having your router hooked up to a surge protector. The routers are expensive, and I'd almost want to have less than perfect wifi than risk having to replace my router.

I tried setting this up with all options available to make this work. After 2 hours, I gave up and retuned it for a LYNKSYS WIFI EXTENDER! It was plug and play, no setup required, and it works so well. Not one issue, not a drop and it extends to outside the house! Don't waste your time with this extender.

    Netgear DST add on Adaptor

First off let me say I got this free from Netgear as part of their friends and family participant program. Setup - This was a little hard for me. I called Netgear tech support and they wouldn't help me since I was part of the F&F. They told me to call Best Buy Geek Squad. I called them and they tried to help me but couldn't get the adaptor to work or be recognized by my AC1900 router. They told me the adaptor was probably bad and to return it. After I continued to work on it my system finally recognized it. So I hate to say this but the support was bad from both sides. Features - This DST adaptor has great features for a small adaptor. Performance - This adaptor works well in an area where you don't have any WiFi coverage. It will defiantly speed up your wireless coverage in that area. Keep in mind it is about 1/2 as fast as your normal WiFi. Expectations - The product met my expectations for what I was looking for. I now have two of them in my house. Price and Value - I think this is a good price and value for what you get. Recommend - I would defiantly recommend this product for anyone that needs coverage in an area that your normal wireless wont reach.

    Dead Spots Terminated

NETGEAR Dead Spot Terminator Wireless Adapter really works. I was receiving almost no internet connectivity in my bedroom. My wireless router was set up the living room and the signal was extremely weak, almost non-existent after traveling 50+ ft to my bedroom. I placed an adapter in my bedroom and immediately saw the results. The setup was simple, just plugged the adapter in the wall. My internet speed was drastically increased and improved to the same quality as my living room. I'm now streaming Netflix and have perfect internet connection throughout my house. This product is definitely worth the price and I highly recommend it. I received this product free from NETGEAR.

This extender is much more powerful than any other extender that I have used. I set this up in my parents house because my siblings and parents constantly complained about not getting coverage throughout the whole house. I was able to get this item for free through the NETGEAR friends and family program. It was extremely easy to set up too! All I had to do is plug it into the wall, the router was able to pick it up. I used this additional extender with the bundle Nighthawk DST, and now my family gets full coverage in their house!
