I purchased this WIFI adapter for an older laptop that just would not stay connected to my network. It works great and now I have a reliable connection.

This adapter was purchased when I realized that the onboard wifi adapter on my wife's Dell laptop was not compatible with Windows 10.
Problem solved.

I use Netgear products at home and work. Routers and Wi-Fi adapters everywhere, which is why I thought this would work fine. Wrong. The disc software would not install, the download software from the website would not install. Bought a cheap off-brand adapter... connected and running in minutes.

OK I bought this device couple of years ago, but it broke after couple of months of use (Physically), Netgear was kind enough to send me a replacement, but I ended up selling it, because I was not happy with the speed I was getting.

I live in an apartment that suffers from interference from a billion other routers surrounding me. The 2.4Ghz band is borderline pointless here, what few devices I have that only support 2.4 barely work and the connection drops a lot. Went ahead and got this little adapter for my cheap laptop and it works great. I don't have an AC router yet so I can't say how much better AC does than N but the 5Ghz band works fine and I can actually do homework without worrying about losing connection. Compared to a lot of other adapters this one is fairly small, so that's a plus, although I wish it was a little smaller. I think it came with software but I didn't install anything; if I remember correctly I think I might've gone to Netgear's website and downloaded a driver. I've had this for a couple of months now and so far so good. If you need 5Ghz, I highly recommend this one.
