Needed a router to work at home when mine broke. Needed good range to update my car in garage and enough speed for multiple computers and TV streaming. This has met all my needs. Also the easiest router to set up with the phone app. The one thing I don't like is the cost for the Armor protection and curious what happens when it expires.

My internet provider upgraded my service to 1GB. I needed to upgrade my router to get the most of out the speed. It has been a great upgrade. It was easy to upgrade to the new router. The range is more than enough to cover every area of my house and yard. It was a little more than I wanted to spend, but I am happy I did.

If you can get this router on sale, it's a steal. It's very simple to get set up and going with it's basic features, and if you want to configure some advanced settings, those are available as well. The strength of signal and speeds are very good and consistent, even when using Powerline from the modem in the other part is the house.

Exactly what I needed! I had recently moved in to a larger home. My old routers signal was weak and became incredibly annoying. The new Netgear ac2300 did the trick. Signal was strong and it's range is huge. I find its signal outside my home. I am amazed that I have had no drops when streaming, easy to setup and handy mobile app. Would highly recommend this product.

Was looking for a router that was relatively inexpensive, easy to set up and would work for multiple people with several electronics each. The Netgear Nighthawk AC2300 more than fit the bill. Great product for the price, provides excellent internet speed and was very easy to set up and join in on. Would highly recommend.

For five years, I didn't think to upgrade my trusty Apple Airport Extreme thinking it was adequate to meet the needs of all the devices my family has had over the years. I WAS ABSOLUTELY WRONG. Although I wouldn't consider myself a tech expert, I figured that wireless technology hadn't evolved to the point where I needed to spend $250+ on a new router. Last Christmas, my younger brother told me about this exact model, and that he loved using it. (He's a software engineer.) However, I didn't want to spend so much money on a router, but Bust Buy lowered the price to $200 in July, then had an additional sale on it for $160 out the door. (It's at $190 at the time of this review.) I got the router to complement the Alienware computer I purchased, and it has made a HUGE difference. First off, it's completely programmable in terms of which devices get priority and thus connect at high speeds (500 Mbps and higher). Other wireless devices that get very low usage (printers, Google home, etc.) connect at 54 Mbps and lower. The MIMO technology is great, and everyone in the house is happy. Second, I can (and I'll do this when I find the time to set it up properly) add an external HDD via the USB port and use it as my own cloud storage device, one that I can access from anywhere. This is helpful if I want to download/upload photos while on vacation. (I know there are other platforms like Google photos, iCloud, Flickr, etc., but I like the though of having my own device.) Obviously, you'll want to use Wi-Fi to minimize data usage. Finally, this unit has great range. I can be outside of my house and still get a strong signal about 70 yards away through several walls. This thing is phenomenal.

Setup was simple.... Speeds are fast.... Really like that it will auto switch users between 2.4 and 5 ghz with the same login... has not needed a reset/reboot and has worked flawlessly for a few weeks with no interruptions. Definitely recommend for those wishing to upgrade.

This was very easy to set up and connecting devices to it is a snap. All my devices connect and no matter how many devices it spreads the wealth. We generally connect a Tv with streaming cable, PS4, PS3, DVD player, two tablets and three phones. Needless to say lots of activity from lots of devices. I would totally recommend this to anyone.

I replaced an older Asus router I had that topped out at wireless N speeds. I was looking for a wireless AC router that also did band steering. I took advantage of the router trade in promotion to get this guy when it was on sale. The setup was super easy. I used the Netgear Up app for the setup and it only took a few minutes to get up and running. I've been using it for a few months and haven't had a single drop out. I guess it's doing a good job keeping all my devices on whichever band is best. Coverage is fine too. I have a 1500 sqft place. This is placed on the ground floor and the only place I have a very slight issue is the upstairs bedroom in the opposite corner of the house. The wifi there is a little slower than everywhere else. I've read that keeping the router on the upper level should balance the signal better so I'll be trying that soon

Only four star review because I had issues. After purchasing this I had nothing but problems. Couldn't get it to connect to internet and if I did it would drop out after a couple hours. Then it would take me an hour to get it back online. Dealt with Netgear customer support many times. They had me changing settings left and right. They were very helpful but couldn't figure out what was wrong. Finally the last guy at Netgear I spoke to told me he just thinks the product is defective to return it and get an exchange. Took his advice returned it to Best Buy and got a new one and it works perfect. Nobody's fault on that one I just got the lemon. Now that I have a working one great product. Awsome coverage throughout my house. Also because of all this Fiasco I now have a new modem because I thought that was the culprit.

I've always just rented a router from my ISP but the range and speed was basic. I decided to upgrade since my wife started working from home, however, her office was the futherest room in the house from the router. I did some research and found this gem. For us at the time, it was a big purchase but the reviews gave me confidence. We bought it and haven't looked back!! The range and speed is incredible!! I pick up a strong signal about 200 feet away. I'm a bit of a tech junky and we have all sorts of devices connected to this router and it handles all of them!! Great buy and highly recommended

The Unit performs excellent for the cost. Performs as well as a $600.00 unit I bought and returned. Gigabit is the word. More Antennas might be an idea but it works fine in my 60 foot long home. Dual 2.4 and 5 .0 Plain and simple big bang for the dollar.

I bought this router after reading lots of reviews. A few publications have this model the “best” mid-priced router. I love that I have the option of switching from 2.4 to 5. Living in a smaller home, I really don’t need lots of range, so most of our devices are set to 5g, but on 2.4, the WiFi is still strong as far as down the street. Lastly, I pay for 250 mbps internet, which is supposed to be the hard-wired speed. This device is putting out 290-400 based on Speedtest and Fast.com depending on the time of day, and that’s WiFi. You absolutely cannot go wrong with this router.

I needed a new router to handle additional TV and Internet traffic, and was not sure of a specific brand or model. The Best Buy reps explained its features and compared it with others. They were confident I would appreciate this unit, and I am. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because of the lack of instructions. I watched some YouTube videos on installations and learned a critical step that wasn't mentioned in the package instructions (which were quite minimal). It dealt with loading a router login prompt to facilitate and complete installation. Not the cheapest by far, but worth the money for coverage and speed.

I bought a new house and was using an older router to try to stream TV and it was buffering and performing very slowly. In my previous house I had all my TVs hardwired to the router so it was never an issue. I stopped into my local Best Buy and asked the sales person for a recommendation based on my situation. This router was on sale and within my budget and would work for my needs. I am very pleased with the performance. I have 3 TVs, 4 phones, a couple of laptops and the wireless bandwidth is just great. The mobile app t manage the router is very easy to use. This router set up in minutes. Very easy and performs well. I am very satisfied.
