This wifi router was purchased for one of the retail stores that I manage. We need to stream video and audio on many different devices at the same time. It was necessary to upgrade the router that are internet provider supplied. The Nighthawk was noticeably faster.

I have fiber internet and it was fast in the living room where the modem and router were. I have a 2800 Sq ft 2-story house and was frustrated at how slow the internet was in the bedrooms, kitchen, upstairs, anywhere else in the house. I hesitated to spend this much on a router, but now we can stream TV and play games anywhere in the house. My son can even watch YouTube on WiFi on his phone while he waits for the school bus across the street in the morning. The price was equal to about 2 months of my cost for fiber internet, and it turned out to be worth it for me.

I was in the market for a new router, and read really good reviews about this one. Easy to setup, range hits the whole house. Super fast speeds.

Easy to replace this new one for the old one

We replaced the old router simply because the technology changes so quickly. My husband said he noticed an improvement with this new router the first day but now, it seems like things are pretty much the way they were before the replacement. We had somebody come and look at my computer (desktop) due to low speed. He said everything from our local service provider looked good. However, there is still the slow speed uptake on our two computers. The thing the computer technician said that would make a bigger difference is to connect directly to the box instead of having to work through the walls in our home. He said by changing back to cable instead of wifi we will see a marked improvement in speed. So, that's what we'll do next. If you are having slow speeds in your links, think about the walls blocking the signal and go back to the "old school" way of being connected to the internet.

For the money, yes it is expensive but so happy I upgraded! This is my 3rd and hopefully final router. The 1st 2 routers I purchased previously did not give me the internet speed I was paying for. I work from home so I needed an upgrade and as the ol saying goes...you get what you pay for! This was expensive but I get fast speed no issues with multiple TVs, cell phones and my computer accessing the wifi. Plus the easy of control you have over all devices is awesome and simple to use! Very pleased thus far!

I purchased the Netgear Nighthawk AC2300 upon the recommendation of an IT tech. It has turned out to be everything advertised. It actually boosted my internet speed, is much more reliable, i.e. fewer reboots, than previous routers I’ve had and it offers both 5GHz and 2.4 GHz networks. At any given time it is supporting 14-16 devices in my household. Couldn’t be happier.

Been using Nighthawk routers for a few years now. One died, got another. Signal strength provides coverage throughout our 2400 sqft, two story house, and basement with no dead zones. Upload and download speeds are as fast as our internet plan provides. Like most households there are usually at least 10 devices connected at any one time and there is no lag. The reason for 4 stars is because the last router only lasted a little over two years.

    Solid Performer So Far

I have a modest 1-bedroom apartment, but my older 802.11n router was struggling with more than a few devices connected at a time. Went to my favorite review website (Wirecutter, highly recommend) and they were singing the praises of this router. It was definitely pricier than I was hoping, but I took their advice and purchased it. The router was pretty easy to setup, not harder nor easier than my last router. There was a bug or two with the setup process, but I attribute that to my cable modem (which I ended up replacing a few days later, which turned out to be necessary). After everything was up and running, I spent a few minutes tweaking the settings. It's been almost a month, and I can't say I have any major complaints. The router works, and pretty well at that. Good throughput, no dropped connections, and so far better coverage of my apartment than my previous router. My complaints are minimal. First, this thing is big - almost double the size of my last router, and with three large antennas hanging off the back. Just be aware that it takes up room. Second, the band steering - where the router automatically moves devices between bands to prevent congestion - works seamlessly, but it does sometimes boot my cell phone off the 5ghz band, and I do notice a speed difference. Would be great if you could mark certain devices as "5ghz or 2.4 ghz only" and let the router move nonessential devices around. That said, I've only noticed this two or three times, and it hasn't been a big deal. In short: so far, so good, for a no-hassle, solid performer of a router.

Out of the box was awesome and fast! Worked well throughout my two story 2400 square foot home. I have noticed after 8 months, it started lagging a bit and had to restart it three times. Will have to check with tech support. Hope it is just a quick fix

This is an excellent router for the money. This replaced a cable router we were renting with increased speed and no buffering lag . Had a problem with installation and called Netgear for help. a total of four calls and several hours passed before router was in service. Had the several agents listened to my problem and transferred my call to the proper department The problem could have been solved with the first phone call. We enjoy the router but customer service left a lot to be desired. .

We were not sure which router to purchase. After speaking with an associate we decide on this one. It has been great. We are able to receive internet much faster and without any problems. Wish we would have purchased this sooner .

    Great Router, but...

This router is performing great. I have no issue whatsoever with overall performance. I deducted 1 star for the redundant downloadable management apps and a second star the horrible parental controls. NETGEAR encourages you to download two apps to your mobile device(s) to manage the router remotely (NETGEAR Genie & NETGEAR Nighthawk). Neither of these have similar interface. (WHY?!) They even have a NETGEAR Genie app for your desktop/laptop computer. This one is the most effective app of the bunch. HOWEVER, The parental control function on the all the apps is HORRIBLE. No wonder they steer you toward the Disney Circle parental control app, which is an annual subscription service. No Thanks. Hey NETGEAR..... Pro Tip: Have parental controls that work intuitively or don't have them at all. Frankly, NETGEAR, your parental controls are horribly unintuitive; FIX THEM. I pay enough of my hard-earned money for your router already. I am not paying Disney to do something I should be able to do on my own with a decent single router management app. Once you get past the set-up and get oriented with the desktop router management the router is great. You are better off using the parental controls on your internet security software. Thus endeth my qualified recommendation.

This was a great investment! I was tired of the router that was provided by my internet provider. It had no range and would constantly buffer. I bought this because it was at a great price and it had all the requirements I was looking for. It has long range, easy to install, phone remote operated and even security. So far the internet is faster and nothing has yet to buffer. Given are quarantine status it was really perfect for my family.
