I had been after my husband to update our combo modem/router for months. I kept having to restart my Mac laptop which is barely 5 years old and thought it was our Wifi connection and not the laptop. I did a lot of research and needless to say I was right! Apparently as a Best Buy store rep told me months ago you need to replace the router about every 4- 5 years max and our old Netgear router/modem Docis 3.0 was over 5 years old. Our house is 2 story 3900 square feet and the this sits upstairs in my husband's office yet there doesn't seem to be any problem with the distance to where I usually sit with my laptop. This Netgear Nighthawk does the job!

This thing doubled my Internet speed so far I’ve no problems at all and I have at least 19 devices connected all working perfectly.

My old modem was the best in it time but with this new modem my internet goes double it speed and help with downloading and loading in websites fast

This is the first time I have purchased the router and modem in one unit. I did the research and spoke with the guy at my local store. Love this unit.. it is fast and has great features. Outstanding product..

My old router couldnt handle going from 75 mbps to 1000 mbps. I bought this and while its EXPENSIVE it allows my high speeds to work. Up to you if OWNING your own router is worth no paying 10 a month for a crappy one from youjr ISP

NETGEAR Nighhawk, although quite pricy is very reliable and well worth the price for the speak and consistency of the wifi

I bought this router to use for Xfinity and the throughput has been great and the app for the router is awesome since I can verify all my needs remotely

I bought this router/cable modem to replace standard Comcast device, my download and upload speeds are now at the max advertised by Comcast. Wifi coverage is great and single SSID for 2.4 & 5Ghz makes setup for my wireless devices a snap. Great product.

Great! Easy to install and good wifi range. Dual signal (2.4 and 5G) so you can have multiple devices connected.

The first unit I received was DOA and had to be returned after working with Netgear tech support. This unit seems to drop the wifi channels more often then my previous C7000-100NAS being shown by having to restart my streaming camera feed with the 2.4G dropping daily and the 5G less frequently. Other then that it seems to work well with Xfinity but has speed slow down which is most like Xfinity issues.

I bought it to replace the rental modem from Xfinity. The setup was very easy, the Cax80 provides very fast signals all across my devices and I get great service outside my home. I am a satisfied customer.

This cable modem router is significantly faster than a less expensive Nighthawk that I purchase and returned. Super happy with this one. The additional expense is well worth it!

This is the worst modem/router EVER. DO NOT BUY!!! Any and everytime you have a power outage or unplug power for any reason, the device just dies! Then you have to restart it 1 million times!!! Dont bother calling support, they are useless! They’ll just try to sell you a support subscription, KNOWING it’s a faulty product!! DO NOT BUY!! Especially if you work from home and depend on internet! Not worth losing your job! I will never purchase another NetGear product AGAIN!!!

Set up was so easy, my life partner was able to complete the installation while i was away. It was a little expensive tho.

Functions well so far and easy to set up. Did result in a noticeable speed improvement for me.

I am honestly furious at this Modem/Router. I have been giving my cable company a hard time since my signal has been hit or miss since we moved into a new build. At one point they suggested I buy a new router since I own my own and off their list and the reviews I bought this. DO NOT activate Armor for one - it did some very strange things to security and we had to deactivate it and factory reset. Since getting this router we've had bizarre connectivity issues. Frequent dropping of signal which has recently worsened. I was working with Comcast for ages and blaming them but now a lot of my devices won't reconnect because the signal is so unsteady and after getting frustrated I Googled my issue which is apparently a VERY common issue with this VERY expensive router. I wouldn't touch this thing with a ten foot pole.
