Did not get what I paid for, I pay for the fastest service, my speed test is not faster than the average rental from Xfinity, they blamed my new modem,

After 4 weeks of use, it started having comm issues with cable internet connection. Even after resetting to factory several times, it would work for about a day or two, then give an error message cannot connect to internet. Had the cable company come out and check signal twice, bought another brand modem router combo on August 5 and have had absolutely no issues.

Got this in January 2024 in November 2024 everything went bad. Wi-Fi keeps turning off and on inconsistent and I have three things hardwired my Xbox, my TV and Amazon cube. Everything has hardwire loses connectivity is taking me three days to download call of duty.. customer service answers back but they don’t know what the hell is wrong with anything I talk to three different people and they all have me do the same thing and nothing works.

If you’re looking to have and unstable internet connection and have to reset your router constantly, then this is the device for you!
About 18 months after purchasing you may also wake up to find it just doesn’t connect to anything even after factory reset.
Thoroughly disappointed in this product which performed worse than my 6 year old nighthawk ever did.

The Netgear CAX80 is a champ! It has the latest technology including docsis 3.1. It easily handles multiple devices and the wifi 6 technology helps improve battery life on my devices! It was easy to set up and I had no issues. Highly recommend!

The router did not allow upload of documents on any computers. The speed via wifi was great but the upload issue made it impossible to use for work. Weeks of calls to xfinity and Netgear could not solve the issue so the device was returned.

NETGEAR Nighthawk CAX80 works as advertised however very disappointed that it's not compatible with Amazon Echo Dot. Contacted customer service several times and was not helpful. Finally had 3 way conversation with NETGEAR and Amazon with no solution.

Usually, I wouldn't give a bad review here, but there's something wrong with this modem. I've read some complaints on Netgear's site; this is my fourth modem, which lasts exactly 11 months. Let me explain: I purchased the first AX6000 in January 2020, which went out almost 12 months ago. The cause was the modem would reboot in a loop and finally die where only the power light stayed on. I contacted NetGear, and they sent me a replacement. It lasted eleven months after multiple power outages in the SF Bay Area in 2021 and 2022, where I lost another modem. The modem has plenty of ventilation; this is a $500.00 modem router. I would highly recommend getting an extended warranty if you purchase this modem. Otherwise, you'll be paying $500.00 per year for replacement, which is a little pricy.

This thing is garbage. I'd give it negative stars if I could. I have gigabit speed from Xfinity, and the max download I get for wired connections is 350Mbps...granted, that's not terrible, but just over 1/3 of what I should be getting. Wifi, however, is the biggest issue. Standing right next to the device gives a wide range of download speeds from 30Mbps-99Mbs, but 40Mbps most of the time. Iphone 11, laptop, it doesn't matter. Wifi is atrocious. Don't even think about going into another room, the signal falls even lower and sometimes disconnects completely. Netgear support is terrible. After 6 hours of troubleshooting, then having Comcast come out to check on the line, they finally, FINALLY, confirmed that the problem is with the device. It's been literally 4 days of troubleshooting and hasn't worked since I purchased it.
