I upgraded to this CAX80 modem/router from the C7000 thinking the larger bandwidth and channel range would boost my connection speed for Xbox cloud gaming. Unfortunately as soon as I switched to the CAX80 it caused the connection to drop intermittently on any cloud game, and I cannot play them any more without them disconnecting every few minutes and losing progress. I didn’t have this problem with the 7y old C7000. I paid extra for Netgears tech support, though they are woefully ineffective and outsourced, and will only guide you through basic network troubleshooting. After months of attempts to troubleshoot, they’ve literally done nothing to identify the problem. Just basic network troubleshooting. For the cost of the router and tech support, I would expect this to perform better than it’s predecessors, without any connection or compatibility issues. The fact that so many users experience connection dropping issues as a result of this product has made me reconsider this purchase, and I would absolutely return if it wasnt outside the return window.

The router did not allow upload of documents on any computers. The speed via wifi was great but the upload issue made it impossible to use for work. Weeks of calls to xfinity and Netgear could not solve the issue so the device was returned.

Got this in January 2024 in November 2024 everything went bad. Wi-Fi keeps turning off and on inconsistent and I have three things hardwired my Xbox, my TV and Amazon cube. Everything has hardwire loses connectivity is taking me three days to download call of duty.. customer service answers back but they don’t know what the hell is wrong with anything I talk to three different people and they all have me do the same thing and nothing works.

I hate this stupid thing. ANY time it loses power or has to restart, you have to do a fresh setup from the beginning or you wont have internet. The app, doesn't work at all it's miserable, if you have to interact with the device just got to routerlogin.net for real. Also, if you have any problems don't expect netgear or bestbuy to help at all. Netgear wants you to pay, before they even ask to hear about why their $400 isn't working. Bestbuy will hear you out for free at least, and then tell you they don't care because it's past 30 days and not their problem anymore. Thank you for listening to my TED talk.

Not a good product. I’m on my second one for the year. Loose connection. App on phone is not user friendly. No support. As soon as your coverage expires it stops working. Many issues. Don’t buy! Not worth it.

This router is very expensive and while it works with Xfinity service, it is not compatible with other Xfinity products like the xifi pods or the Xfinity app to manage the router. Also it is very difficult to set up through Xfinity.

I recommend this modem if you are thinking to upgrade your modem it works great.
