This modem/router blows away the crappy one I rented from Comcast. I have roughly 30 things connected with no problem

Product worked pretty good but does not cover enough area. My house was too large. Would recommend for a smaller space.

I bought this unit ( Cax80 ) to replace the xfinity hardware and eliminate the rental fee. My unit lasted about 10 months before it started showing signs of failure. I was/am losing wifi signal beyond 10 ft from the unit, I added a signal booster/repeater but it did not help. Seeking help from netgear has been everything but easy, days between responses, being referred to by the wrong name, they seem scripted to exhaust the customer and try to sell you a service contract, even within warranty. If you are considering spending 400.00+ on this piece of equipment from netgear, do not expect longevity and reliability. You can expect netgear to try and get you to spend additional money and the feeling that you definitely did not get your money's worth.

    Broke after 8 months

When it was working, it worked well. But it died after 8 months. Reached the customer service and they sent a replacement which was dead (tested with a working power supply and still dead) on arrival. Emailed customer service and they just ignored the numerous messages I sent. Moral of the story- stay away from Motorola products

Got this because all the kids are home with school, and needed something better than we had.. I am now 4 months into having this thing and wish I would have went with my gut in the beginning and took it back. Hard to set up, the app is crap, help from the company is crap, every single time the electric flickers this thing throws a fit and has to be completely redone. It is worth the money? Um no. If I could I would take it back. Don’t waste your money.

Hasn't had updates in long time. Buggy.

At first this thing was pretty great, but as of now I'm sitting on a barely functional product only 2 years later. The 5Ghz radio was the first to go, and now the daily bugs mean that I'll be looking to purchase a new modem, and I'll make sure it will NEVER AGAIN be a NETGEAR.

    Terrible companion/setup app

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The app, which is needed to set up the hardware, crashes and loops. Does not recover well from problems. Had to hard-reset the device twice because the app kept dumping and couldn't pick up from where it stopped. Once it finally completed setup, signal failed repeatedly, and when we went back into app to manage the device it detected the hardware as a completely different model. Would NOT recommend.

Not worth $400 to $500. The device indicates that it supports 2,500 sq ft, however, the internet is spotty.
