Great WiFi Extender especially if speed is needed. Device did not seem to play well with the nighthawk router that I already owned. However, once I figured out that you could not have the same wifi name feature turned on in order to bond the channels it worked great.

I bought this since my office is rather far from my wireless router. This has solved the problem of lower signal strength in that area. It was very easy to set up and worked perfectly with my NETGEAR router. I like that it is oriented vertically so it has a minimal footprint. It sits unobtrusively on a table in the area and does a great job just as the description said it would. I highly recommend this item.

Keep in mind for this review I had an existing Netgear Night Hawk core network at home. I picked up this mesh extender via instore pickup. The pickup process was super easy. When I got home it took me maybe 15 minutes to set this up. Once I moved it to the basement I resolved the spotty high speed 5G WiFi in my home. It changed the game for us as we have so many devices that use the internet now. Totally worth the money I can’t say enough great things about this device

Bricked in 3 Months, Customer Support Useless

I loved Netgear brand until today and I will be staying away from the brand starting today. I have a Netgear Nighthawk X6 R8000 router, Arlo Pro 2 camera system, Netgear Gigabit Swith and this unit, until it broke this morning. At midnigt, it was working fine,m we woke up in the morning with no internet upstairs and I checked the device: all fromt LEDs are blinking and the power switch LED is blinking red. Spend 20 minutes on the phone with Netgear help desk, what I heard was "sir, you bought this device 94 days ago, your support ended 4 days ago, if you would like to go ahead, you can pay 89.99 for 6 months of support and we can fix your device over the phone right now"... Ridicilous, so I bought this device 3 months ago, and as you know this is one of the MOST EXPENSIVE extenders in the market, so thinking "let me buy the expensive one so it will be the best" was my biggest mistake. Apparently device just bricked itself overnight by trying to update the firmware. I went online to Netgear forums and a lot of people are having the same "bricking" issue. I saw one guy posted exact same thing happening to him this morning. Anyways, I would highly recommend staying away from this router. $200 just bricked in 3 months... Great job Netgear.......

I love the meshing of 2.4G & 5G in one wi-fi. This is much better and more powerful compare to my AC1900. The software and app are somewhat inconsistent, however. since I had it I found it to be unable to find devices at time.

The Nighthawk Mesh X6S offers a better extension of your existing WiFi router without the hassle of additional SSID’s and passwords. It seemlesly switches you to the closest router without delay or lag in connection. Set up was easy with the NetGear App but you can also use their website to complete connection as well. Speed tests show that I have no loss in strength/speed no matter the location in my house. I am very happy with this purchase!

Our Netgear Nighthawk router is in our basement and we could never get a signal on 2nd floor. The linksys extender we had didn’t have nearly enough power and did nothing To extend the WiFi. This picked up the WiFi signal on floor 1, thereby enabling a nice strong signal on floor 2 where we previously got no signal at all. We have many devices in our house and it has helped all of us. Worth the money.

It ain't the cheapest and definitely doesn't have the smallest form-factor, but this is the best-performing extender I've tried--better by far than any of the NetGear plug-in jobs. If you want flawless mesh handshaking between router and extender, give this one a try--it has worked like a charm since I set it up, with consistently faster throughput than any of its predecessors.

We had a weak wifi signal in an outbuilding on our property but we wanted to have the ability to stream shows or play games out there. It took me a couple tries to pair it up with my nighthawk router but I got it on the 2nd or 3rd attempt. It’s been working great so far. Strong internet connection in the outbuilding, streaming netflix like we were plugged directly in to the router. I love this thing!

The product itself was well built and did procide coverage over previous dead spots. However, there is no replacement to hardwiring if you’re attempting to use this to give faster speeds to gaming equipment

I have had this for about a month now. It was easy to install. Seems to work good. Only complaint is the other day I dropped signal for no reason. I had to reinstall it and when I did the 5g wouldnt connect. But a day later and it fine again.

It helps maintain the speed of my internet though sometimes the Ethernet connection drops not sure if that's a bad wire so I can't Instantly say it's the extender fault. It also affects my wireless headset but other then that I think it's great

Had tried a couple of less expensive extenders, but none worked as well and gave up on them. This unit sets up easily and provides strong signal throughout my home. I was having trouble maintaining reliable signals around my home (2500 Sq/ft) and now I can get and hold a reliable signal anywhere on my property (1/3rd acre) and anywhere in the house. Should have bought this first. :)

This mesh extender is excellent. Set up was super fast and pain free. I used the WPS feature and the same SSID mode and everything synced up first time. Be careful where you place the unit and make sure you have a solid connection with your primary WiFi modem. I’m now able to seamlessly roam throughout my home, inside and out and never loose the connection while all in the same network.
