This Netgear Nighthawk seemed a bit expensive but the salesperson convinced me to get it after he explained all the features. It streams very well in a 2200 sq. ft. house with the router upstairs, and the DVD/TV downstairs in the opposite side of the house. Easy set up and online support. Very happy with purchase!

    Great Performance and Range

After experiencing trouble with a number of gateways (cable modem + router combination devices) from Time–Warner Cable, including their high-performance models, I picked up this Nighthawk for use with a cheap standalone cable modem.  Now, I no longer have the extreme latency while gaming nor stuttering on video streaming that has plagued my network due to inferior firewall software and QoS on those TWC gateways. And although my desktop computer is wired to one of the Nighthawk's gigabit ethernet ports, I am also very impressed with the wireless range and signal strength with my PS4 and Android devices.  I live in a two-story townhome with many other wireless networks from tenants in other units (I can see 13 others right now), but the Nighthawk always has a strong, stable signal. I'm very pleased with this device, and with the configuration options available through the administrative login panel.  I also had great customer service, as I showed the price of the Nighthawk on Amazon.com and the Best Buy sales rep happily applied the price-matching discount.

3 Years of Use and Still Going Strong

I bought this Router in 2014 and it is still working great. I am able to stream on multiple devices in my home at one time, and the shows stream well without buffering. If you want to get away from paying cable company monthly fees for equipment, this is a great router to choose! Fast, reliable, and website is easy to set up for network password protection. You can even set-up the unit base to change the light colors when you get to a certain gigabyte use for the month. You can also set the router to stop wireless activity for certain times of the day and/or after a certain gigabyte amount has been used for the month. This router has a lot of great features!

I bought this router to replace a 9-year-old 300N made by Airlink101. I moved to a new house and the old router just didn't have the power to provide the signal strength we needed. Overall the R7000 is a good performer. While I don't have any AC devices to test with, throughput is solid on both the 2.4ghz and 5ghz bands. I currently have about nine devices connected, with at least two streaming either movies or music almost non-stop. Even when Netflix or Hulu is streaming to the TV, there are no glitches with browsing or streaming on any of the other devices. Fire TV doesn't like the 5Ghz band very much, but that's an issue with that device. Signal strength is excellent on 2.4Ghz everywhere, with 5Ghz being better on the same floor as the router (upstairs in my house). Some 30 feet out into the back yard, the connection isn't as stable as I would like, but I wouldn't expect any router to deliver even as far as this one does. I'm not a fan of the settings GUI. This needs work. This router is not cheap; Netgear could have done a better job with the overall logic and layout. Also. settings changes take about 90 seconds, during which the router reboots and (no surprise) all connections go down.

The netgear nighthawk R7000-100NAS dual-band wireless router gives good solid signal. Let's me maximize the upgraded Internet signal I recieved from Comcast cable. As a gamer, I appreciate the options to tweak router for optimal online gaming experience with my PS4. Wish it was a little smaller but they're all about this size now. Would recomend.

I researched this product before I bought it. For me, it is worth the price. I can now watch streaming video from all rooms in my house even though my DSL comes in on the 3rd floor loft and my house is built into a hill, so it is partially underground.

This is in line with an ARRIS SurfBoard cable modem. I'm getting 75mbps down from the provider, and consistently getting that kind of throughput everywhere throughout my house with this router. It's running two Apple TVs, a Vizio Smart TV, Amazon Echo, a Canary home security system, a Samsung SmartThings hub with several sensors, four wifi cameras, several connected home lightbulbs and plugs, a laptop, an XBOne, two iPads, two iPhones, a smattering of Kindle ereaders, and a partridge in a pear tree. Nary a problem with any device. I get good reception all over almost 2,000 square feet and outside of the house as well. There are several other hard-wired devices on the network (including three workstation computers, a NAS, and a webserver) and they all run efficiently. Setup was a bit of a pain as I had to unplug and replug the modem several times (only advertised as once) and the setup utility takes a LONG time to restart when you change settings, but I haven't had to change anything since the initial couple hours of setup. Expensive but it's a workhorse.

Replaced my old Linksys from 2008 after it was giving me some performance issues. The signal on this thing is amazing, granted I live in a small apartment on the 2nd floor. But I still get signal in the basement garage 3 floors down. Speeds are great, the signal is strong, and it handles all of my devises with ease.

Perfect fix for a very poor Comcast Gateway!

I was receiving a terrible signal or no signal from my Comcast Gateway (Arris 826). It is well documented how poor the signal strength, quality, and range is with the Arris 826. My download speeds were slower than my upload speeds and would often disconnect on a 125Mbps download and 25Mbps upload tier. My Wi-Fi signal, only 25ft away from the Gateway, would make watching anything through ON Demand pointless with all of the pauses and drops. To compound my issue, is that I live in a high congestion Wi-Fi neighborhood, with 20+ other networks all on the 2.4Ghz band. I tried a good quality extender, but I found that it would cut my already poor signal (12-20Mbps Max) in half. Finally, I purchased the R7000 Night Hawk, which solved every issue I was having! I placed my Comcast Gateway in "bridge mode" and turned off the Wi-Fi- signal from it and now use the R7000's Wi-Fi signal. Amazing difference! Awesome performance! Setup is pretty simple. Even if you don't have much experience with networks, there is a setup wizard that can walk you through the basics. There are several LEDs on the front of it, but most can be turned off if they bother you. The Night Hawk has dual band capabilities...meaning you can also utilize the 5.0Ghz wireless "ac" band, which is the latest, greatest, fastest, and at the present time least used. This means less interference from other devices. Take note, you will need a network adapter that is capable of using the 5.0Ghz band. My tablet only has a built in 2.4Ghz "wireless n" adapter, so I also purchased the "NETGEAR AC1200 A6210-10000S USB 3.0 adapter", and they perform awesome together. Honestly, I do not really need the USB adapter because the way I setup my Night Hawk it pretty much forces it's signal through all of my neighborhood Wi-Fi interference. The R7000 also has "Beam Forming". I cannot really say if this just a gimmick or actually improves performance. Simply put, "Beam Forming" is supposed to search out other wireless "ac" 5.0Ghz devices and shape a signal and project it directly towards those devices, rather than send out a giant spherical signal in all directions. Now, I am getting my full 125Mbps download and watching ON Demand online TV shows/movies with no pauses or dropped connections. I can even go outside with little change in signal strength, quality, or throughput. The range is way better than I was expecting! FYI, the R7000 is big and takes up a good portion of Real Estate. But the R7000 can also be wall mounted with a few screws. This is done much like cordless phone base stations. Put 2 screws in the wall but not all the way flush, leaving room for the router slid down onto the screws. Before I realized this, I went out and bought a small shelf to put the router on. Seriously, with no exaggeration, this is one of my best purchases EVER!

I was hesitant about spending this much money for a router. It's more than twice as much as I paid for my last router, but this one turned out to be worth every penny. There are no more dead spots in my house where the signal drops, and the router easily handles all of my devices. Glad I bought it.

Our old router was going out and would drop the internet when under high loads of multiple devices. This unit has not failed with four devices running including streaming movies. Set up was easy however I still cannot get our wireless printer to connect to it.

The nighthawk R7000 is the best Router I've ever worked with and used. The setup is insanely easy. Updating the firmware is not glitchy. There are no bugs or hiccups. The extra features and full on support to me is my new standard. I can stream faster, triple box game an mmorpg with even less lag on my end, share files at the same time from multiple machines, and handle even more demands from a network aspect. It's frickin monstrous. Buy this to save Narnia.

The NETGEAR - Nighthawk AC1900 Dual-Band Wi-Fi Router - Black works great for me. I already had a decent NETGEAR modem and thought the NETGEAR router would complement my network. I also purchased the S8000 8-port Giga-Bit ethernet switch. I would recommend this product.

This replaced my R2000 I've had for a few years. It provides more coverage and a stronger signal than my R2000 did. We have 2 tvs, 2 cell phones and an Ipad going with no problems. Ive had no issues with this or any netgear router.

My download speeds went from a high of 14 Mps with Comcast's router to an average of around 115 Mps. Not only did it increase the speed but it also extended the range. I regularly get a signal in my yard whereas before if I was downstairs I might not have a reliable signal. Worth. Every. Penny.

Easy to set up and great range. We bought this router because our old router signal wouldn't reach from one side of the house to the other well. This router has provided a very strong signal through the house and haven't had any problem with it at all. Was easy to set up and I couldn't be happier.

I purchased this router to use with my Ting fiber network. It was really easy to set up and has a strong signal. It has an associated app that allows me to view all the devises connected to its service. You can even set up parental controls pretty easily if needed.
