I have had the Nighthawk AC1900 router for a few weeks now, and over all I'm very pleased with it. I replaced a very old router with it, and the router has dual band that I didnt have with my old one. We have not experienced any connection issues when multiple devices connect.
Since we are owning more and more wireless devices that need or want to connect to the internet. Our old router wasnt up for the task. Set up could not be easier, and there are plenty of settings for the techie to tweak. Netgear made it easy for the non-techie to set up too.
If you are looking for a good solid, fast router, look no further.

If you are looking for a router not intended for the average uses (Gaming, streaming, uploading, etc). I would recommend this router as a starting router. Netgear also has better routers out there, but this router is a great starting point

It's been 7 months since I purchased this router. Until recent firmware update, it had been working perfectly. I had to spend some time to find out what the problem was. If you update firmware, make sure you reset to factory default. My problem was solved that way.

Great 2.4/5GHz Router for 2500 sq/ft home

Based on reviews, I purchased this router in 2020 (2 yrs ago as of writing this review). Setup was simple; connecting all other devices also simple; the 5GHz easily makes it with medium signal horizontally across a 2500 sq/ft house; the 5GHz will not make it diagonally across a 2500 sq/ft house; the 2.4GHz makes it diagonally across a 2500 sq/ft house. This is quite helpful for me as some of my smart home devices will only connect to the 2.4 signal, and instead of having to toggle on/off the 5GHz signal, I can just bring them in the garage to connect. Simple hide/unhide the SSID especially for the Guest network is appreciated. I've used this as a primary router and also in sequence with a fibre modem/router. Price of this router appears to have been maintained over the past few years which also shows the manufacturer continues to sell it (aka. people are buying it because it's good). If this router went out on me today, I'd shop around with the understanding that I'd probably just buy it again.

Got this after my older Netgear died on me. And this router is amazing keeps a strong connection, keeps all my devices connected(~10 devices), and is easy for me to set up the settings, and put my own security on it. I love the QoS feature giving my devices the needed bandwidth for what I'll be needing them for.

Pretty good signal for use in a large house, but not for a mansion. Has this setup in the garage and it reaches to almost all the rooms in the house. Easy to configure and looks sleek for a pretty big unit.

This is an upgrade from my older netgear router. This router has all the functions and I never get dropped all the way across the house. I have a 2 story house that usually I have signal drop to the xbox. Not this one. I have never had to reset or have any issues with the Xbox since getting this device.

I have used this router in several locations from home to office to workshop and it works great. The only issue I have with it is the wireless seems to get overburdened when the whole family is home with their devices on. Aside from work, Internet TV, security cameras, phones and tablets, we do a lot of gaming. We are a family of 4 and each have multiple devices attached through wireless and they can really bring it to a grind sometimes. On average we have 25-30 wireless devices attached at a time and a lot of video data is used. I would recommend putting it in a cool place if you use a lot of wireless devices like we do because when everyone is home and the traffic is high, it tends to run warm. This is not uncommon for any router we have tried but you should be aware of it. We also have a lot of devices like our gaming and work computers, printers, NAS, and media server on the wired network, but do not suffer from the same issues. Still, it's better than any of the other routers we have tried so far and I highly recommend it.

I have about 12 devices that connect mostly through Wi-Fi. Old Linksys router would drop some devices, throttle the bandwidth, or cause a wireless printer to reset mysteriously. New Netgear unit is stable regardless of the number of devices. The 5 Ghz channels also have very good range through the house.

For years I’ve been looking for a solution to allow me to stream content from the wireless router (downstairs) to the bedroom (upstairs and at the opposite end of the house.
I’ve tried various wireless extenders and received mixed results. (All of which did not meet my home networking needs)
Home setup:
Previous Router (Linksys EA6700
Connecting off one the the ethernet ports is a Cisco 24 Port Gigabit Switch
Devices connecting to the Cisco Switch are:
- (2) DLINK (4) TB NAS
- (1) HP Multi-Function Printer
- (1) HP BW Printer
- (1) VOIP phone
- (2) Laptops
- (2) Gaming systems (1) XBOX 350 and (1) PS3
From a Wireless Perspective:
(3) TV’s with Chromecast
(2) Boxee Box
(9) Various devices ranging from smart phones, iPads, Samsung Tablets, and family member laptops.
To me the challenge was having a good enough Quality of Service network speeds, when I had guest over and wanting to stream content from my NAS’s.
The previous router worked only when I had to tell my family NOT to go onto the network and I had to prioritize the device depending on the room we were entertaining in. (You can see how that got old really fast)
Tired of manually managing the bandwidth as home; I broke down and purchased the NetGear NightHawk AC 1900 Dual Bank Wi-Fi Gigabit Router (R7000)
It was the best move that I could have made given my infrastructure needs.
I’ve had the router for 3 months and have not experienced any performance issues to date.
The only issue I had when upgrading my infrastructure was in the area of VoIP setup
It took a bit of searching on the web to determine how to configure my VoIP phone. I discovered that the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Application Level Gateway (ALG) is enabled by default to optimize VoIP calls that use SIP. (All I had to do was disable that config and we all were happy campers)
All in all this is a very good router for the price. It has enough features and configurable settings to be customize for your home infrastructure; and also providing a secure and optimize networked infrastructure.

We replace our routers every few years, so maybe this is just a reflection of how long it's been since the last upgrade, but the Nighthawk is extremely fast and has fantastic range. We were having problems with signal strength and quality before we switched to the nighthawk. That is no longer a concern.

We "cut the cable" and for TV we are now using an antenna and streaming services. We have 6 TVs and have Roku devices for streaming the free apps plus Netflix and Sling TV. We needed a wireless router that would allow multiple TVs to simultaneously stream HD content to up to 4 TVs. In addition, I wanted a single router to replace my old 2-router setup. The old "long range" router couldn't reach the whole house so I set up a second router to extend to cover the whole house.
This router covers my entire house and in testing I have streamed HD content to 4 TVs simultaneously without any lag or buffering.
This routed does what I needed it to do.

Easy setup, free dynamic dns account. 1 issue I had was that shortly after going through all the setup on the device, QOS etc., I no longer could login to the device. The Genie app was failing as well. I had to reset and start over. Working fine since. I imagine this is firmware related and hope for an update soon. Good wifi coverage.
