Customers praise the Nighthawk X10 AD7200 Tri-Band Wi-Fi Router for its impressive range, strong performance, and ease of setup, resulting in excellent coverage and signal strength, great for streaming and other demanding applications. However, some customers note that the router is expensive and large, and a few have experienced issues with the firmware. Despite these drawbacks, many users find the improved speed and reliability worthwhile.

Once the X10 was up and running, my speeds went up on every item I had. I have somewhat of a smart home with lots of wifi enables lights. This clogged up my old router on the 2Ghz channel as it was the only channel available.
The X10 has 5Ghz and 60Ghz...although the 60 is unused but ready for the next cool item to hook into.

I purchased this router because we weren't able to receive a wifi signal outside, even with extenders. Once connected, I have a strong signal anywhere in my yard (and probably down the street) without the need for extenders. The router is big, make sure you have a place to put it so that the signal won't be blocked by anything.

Best router I’ve used so far. Easy hookup. The problem was when I got a faster speed package 400mbps. Couldn’t get anything faster than 200 out of the router. Turned off 2.4 antenna did all the troubleshooting things to no avail. The cheap spectrum router gives me the correct number.

I have not had any problems with this router. It is so much faster than my Dlink AC3150 router. Device seem to stay connected and work well on this router. I just wish they had better documentation for this router. Right now I have around 14 devices connected.

Didn't even last 2 years. All of my LAN ports stopped functioning correctly yesterday. Lights show data transmission. Network map shows each device connected via ethernet appearing and disappearing constantly.
WiFi still works ok I guess, but let's not even get started on the disconnection issues that has plagued this router since the beginning. Oh, and the Plex server capabilities are kind of a joke, but MIGHT work ok depending on your media.
Just 10 months out of the 1 year warranty too, not that their customer service seems to care about anyone (from other reviews I've read when trying to diagnose what happened, I have no personal experience with them).
I'm a longtime Netgear fan when it comes to networking stuff. I will say the App was intuitive and useful. The range was pretty good and supplied consistent signal throughout our 2,400 sqft 2 story home. It had some nice potential for sure, but I sure would be embarrassed if I were Netgear with this one. Netgear won't be getting any more of my money for putting out such a poor quality product at this price point. It's not like I bought a five dollar 10 year old Linksys router from a computer repair shop... Which I still have... Which still works... This thing was FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ffs.

I currently have the Netgear X6 and after 3 years finally decided to upgrade to the Netgear X10 router. Very easy to set up however had some challenges reseting my TPlink and associated Amazon echo products themselves to accept the new wifi setup. Once obtained the X10 worked perfectly.

I purchased this router with the hope that it could handle our home network of devices. My previous nighthawk had no problems but when we upgraded to 1gig speed it couldn't handle all the traffic.
This router looks amazing and is beefy. The UI is garbage and outdated when compared to ASUS and other brands. First let me start by stating I have the follow items on my network
Modem:NetGear CM1100 (I own it and using Comast/Xfinity 1G Down and 50 Up)
xBOXx-Wired
Ps4Pro-Wired
VOIP Extender-Wired
Network Drive-Wired
Wireless:
5 Echo Dots
1 Echo Show
2 Nest thermostats
5 Arlo Cameras and 1 Arlo HD
3 Computers
1 Ring door bell
2 Schlage door locks (wifi modulus)
1 Xboxone X
3 Xbox One's
2 firesticks
10 smart bulbs
4 home security wifi lights/camera's
Along with 1 Nighthawk 1500 Extender.
According these specs handling all this network traffic should be NO problem at all. Well, Lets just say that only the gaming system and security cameras were connected to 5g and rest 2G. The 2g DROPPED almost daily. I tested this router numerous times even tested different signals and still had issues. I removed the extender and installed a different one didn't resolve. Contact Netgear who basically said it "must be" faulty with no help. So back to the store it went and a I purchased a ASUS 5300 triband which runs amazingly on our network.
You would think for this price the UI would be better and it would handle a home for 2,900 square feet which isn't large at all. Maybe I got a bad one not sure. The only positive thing is when it worked I was pulling some very fast speeds well over my cap around 2.8-3.2, If you're a home with multiple devices I would avoid this. I deff think there is something wrong with the lasted firmware and they just don't have a fix for it. After some Googling I realized this most likely the issue but I didn't have time to wait months for Netgear to get there act together.

Setup with phone app was very easy. The computer software downloaded would not talk to the router and if you needed access to advanced features you would have to log into the system online thru netgear's website. Not much of an issue until netgear fixes the computer software to talk with their newest router.

This is one of the best purchases I have made. I recently upgraded to 1gbps internet. This router delivers the speed and power beyond expectations. Not only that but it has 10gbps capabilities and Wi-Fi abilities that are ahead of the game. (For future devices) I would strongly recommend this router.

While expensive, this was a great investment. Having 5 smartphones, 4 PC's, 2 gaming systems, an Alexa, and lord knows what else running on WIFI- we no longer have issues with lagging, dropped WIFI, no more resetting the router, and overall range of WIFI has greatly increased for our household.
