Customers praise the Nighthawk X10 AD7200 Tri-Band Wi-Fi Router for its impressive range, strong performance, and ease of setup, resulting in excellent coverage and signal strength, great for streaming and other demanding applications. However, some customers note that the router is expensive and large, and a few have experienced issues with the firmware. Despite these drawbacks, many users find the improved speed and reliability worthwhile.

I upgraded to this router based on consumer reports data. I am very happy with my purchase. Plug and play. This has made my service at the house much improved. I have been able to add some home automation which I was unable to do with the throughput on my previous router.

This router is fast but it has a poor range of Wi-Fi signal, even when adjusting the antennas

I am very pleased with my purchase. I originally purchased a similar modem with another brand and even though it was just as fast as this one, the user interface was so complicated and hard to work with.
I have always had great success with NetGear, so once again, I went back to what I know and trust.

I had this X10 for 13 days, it did everything it claimed it could do. Boost signal strength and boost download upload speeds on wireless. However if too many were online at once, or just at random, it would reboot itself and kick everyone offline. I'm a gamer and so is my wife, our kids have tablets, and our laptops. If this router is supposed to support 10 devices on a wireless network and I'm hard wired in it shouldn't have any problems at all. Yes, I went in and configured it to the T. Upset, as most would be after spending a chunk of change on this, I decided to start checking forums. Out of the 12 or so links I read it is a known issue and Netgear responders on these forums were aware of the problem with the firmware. Yes you can try reloading the previous firmware or never update it when you buy it, but by now most are being shipped with the latest update. The reload worked for 3-5 on the links but even they had other issues arise. No I would not recommend this unless you are prepared to be aggravated.

This thing is a beast. I was hesitant because of the price but not disappointed. After a few tweaks I get great signal in my whole house and full use of my download speeds. We stream to multiple devices at the same time and haven't seen any interruptions. Comes with Plex Media server as a plus.

Bought this router after I thought I had bricked my Netgear R8500. It's very expensive but with a large house I need the power that it gives. I can be anywhere in a 4000 sq ft house with no problem. And even out at the back of an acre property. Are there cheaper options yes but I trust Netgear.

So happy I spent the money to get rid of Xfinity modem/router &
purchase my own Netgear modem & router. Network is much faster & not having to reset all the time. Connection much better & stronger. Can even connect wireless if outside or at a close neighbor's home.

We have 5 Smart TV’s, 4 phones, 2 computers, 3-4 consoles, and other WiFi enabled devices hooked up to this router with absolutely no struggles. It functions seamlessly, and I high recommend this product to anyone with a multi-device home or games frequently.

This router is a lot of money but it has a lot of features for an advanced user. For someone that just want's a wifi router get something cheaper. I am using this router with a nas server hooked up with 10gb port on the back of the router so for me its well worth the money.

My cheap one worked better than this one but Its really hard for me to leave a good review as I have so many dead spots in my 1700 sq ft house and it still only works in one bed room and part of the living room. So it would not be fair to give a fair review.

GREAT Range - not for multiple placements

I needed two units to work together to provide complete coverage - you can not use a 2nd unit to wireless extend a main unit... and while, due to great range, I could have used them at two points where i did have hard network - these don't work well together in general if you're seeking single SSID deployment.
It worked - then it conflicted - and ultimately didn't work. If I only needed one, this would have rocked it... but such was not the case, so back it went.
Note - the Best Buy techs originally told me I could use multiple to extend coverage which was, as noted, not the case.

This router has all I was looking for. The 5ghz wireless coverage is great, covers all 3,000 sq/ft when centrally locates. No more need for my extender. It also works with my circle that I use to monitor and filter network access for my kids.
