Customers praise the Nighthawk X10 AD7200 Tri-Band Wi-Fi Router for its impressive range, strong performance, and ease of setup, resulting in excellent coverage and signal strength, great for streaming and other demanding applications. However, some customers note that the router is expensive and large, and a few have experienced issues with the firmware. Despite these drawbacks, many users find the improved speed and reliability worthwhile.

It replaced a previous Netgear router and an extender with I donated to my church. I do not need an extender because this covers all my house (3300 sq.ft.) and the surrounding outdoor area.
The speed for wireless is excellent and I can take advantage of my Gb speed provided by COMCAST.

Have been using Netgear routers as my primary router, even though the fiber optic ISP has said it is NOT compatible, since fiber optic first came to Fort Wayne. No more wireless lag as compared to the R6300 this is replacing. Four stars only because of price.

Quite pricey but worth every penny. With an Apple Time Capsule/Router I would get around 100 Mbps download speed through WiFi on a 300 Mbps internet plan from Optimum. With Nighthawk X10 my WiFi speeds increased drastically and now I am getting between 250 and 310 Mbps. Highly recommended.

Netgear Update

I bought this router and as it worked amazing for so long i was so disappointed to know that netgear does not fully test their software updates. I updated my software and it literally cut my GB internet speeds by more than half, contacted support and was told to downgrade and wait for another update soon. I was not told that it will work with the new update but instead that it could be a hit or miss. I still think this is a very good state of the art router, the reason for the one star rating is for the lack of information and lack of testing with software on netgear's end.

With all the devices we have on Wi-Fi I figured this would be a great product. It did speed things up but not as well as I thought it would.

I read many reviews about how great this router was before purchase and it initially delivered on that and more. A few days later the 2.4ghz wireless portion quit working. I have a few devices that are only in that wireless range. Once they would not connect it made me look into the router setting and that was when I found the wireless was no longer working. I started researching how to fix the issue and found out this is a common problem for the router. Until that issue is resolved, I assume by firmware upgrade, stay away from the router if you have older devices. As much as the router costs this should not be an issue. I cannot not review or talk about wireless AD as I do not have anything in that range.

Gets the job done! We finally have stable internet. We found out the hard way that our previous router did not handle gigabit internet very well, and it kind of sort of died. Hopefully this one will last a long time! (Will update if it craps out for no reason :P)

I have cox Gigablast and run in high 900's download and uploads. Add more wired computers and the wireless is the strongest and goes every where in a 2500 sq ft house. Samsung Galaxy runs well over 300 all over the house. With latest upgrade media plex working better

Has known issues of connectivity and firmware that should have been addressed before in previous model such as the X6 I had previously and still having to do patchwork and beta tests on firmware updates.

It's great having a router with PLEX built in. Attach an external USB hard drive and copy your music and videos over and listen and watch from anywhere with PLEX. However this router also has issues where devices on its wired connection cannot get an IP address. The only solution is to log in and reboot the router. NETGEAR doesn't even acknowledge the problem on their support forums.

For the longest time I've always went with Linksys, But every since they were sold to Belkin I've had nothing but problems. So decided to give NetGear a try, & it's a NIght and Day difference. No problems with WIFI, Just all around a great router.

This truly is a cutting edge router. Honestly, it's way more router than 90% of home users need. With that being said, it's got next gen tech already on tap, so it will be a good long term solution. Excellent mobile interface and easy to use.

Was having major problems with current router and needed an upgrade. This one certainly has met my expectations by far. While it is a bit pricey, it is worth every penny. Great Geek Squad service tech installed as I am not literate in this type of set up. A+ satisfied!

This animal roars. Wifi at every corner, and fast. Streaming is great. The 60GHz band is limited because so few gadgets have that bandwidth, but that is coming too and I am ready. Yes, this cost a chunk of cash, but I am very happy with the bang it gives for that cost.

Use the netgear night hawk for my network WiFi and some items in my home like my PlayStation kept saying signal are to weak. Price is to high for such a weak item. Cheaper routers are better

It appears this device was released to early. It routinely drops wifi signal to devices, and had difficulties maintaining its internal list of devices. This second issue caused Plex to fail. I found plenty of info on other folks seeing same issues at the Netgear online community. The customer technical service on this device is absolutely dreadful. Each time I connected back on the issue they would run exact same script. No progress in hours before I gave up. If I had seen online conversations I would have stayed away from this device.

It's a great router, works well. But I should not have spent the extra money for it because even though my other equipment is high end 4K, I seem unable to use the new third band. If you can, then likely worth the money.

Needed a good wifi router to connect to my Cable modem. Been using 2 years no problem. Don't think it's worth upgrading to 5G yet, will keep using this. Fiber optic would be a better upgrade if available
