Customers are saying

Customers praise the Nighthawk X10 AD7200 Tri-Band Wi-Fi Router for its impressive range, strong performance, and ease of setup, resulting in excellent coverage and signal strength, great for streaming and other demanding applications. However, some customers note that the router is expensive and large, and a few have experienced issues with the firmware. Despite these drawbacks, many users find the improved speed and reliability worthwhile.

    NETGEAR NOTHING

I am sorry. I don't write many reviews, but NETGEAR night hawk x10 is junk. DO NOT BUY! I bought this expensive anchor thinking it would have good connectivity. I was getting between 2 and 22 mbps download speed at best on my devices. Not acceptable when I get over 120 on my cable box when hooked up direct. I just bought a google WIFI system to replace. Simple setup, and I get over 120 mbps download speeds on all my devices. Sorry NETGEAR. Not worth the $400 plus dollars for junk. I would remove from market. It is past my return policy so I am stuck with a huge dead weight anchor! Please design something worth something...

The crappiest router I ever purchase

I bought this router on the recommendation of an in home advisor from Best Buy. This router has been nothing but trouble ever since I purchased, I even spent $250 in order to get 2 year support (India of course) and they are useless. I spent several hours of them telling me that they would fix my issue, eventually they did, but 2 weeks later I am back to the same problem. When I swap out this router with the one from Optimum, I get better service, but the other router has only 4 ethernet ports and limited range, but at least I have service. Don't buy this crappy router, unless of course you live in a 1 room apartment, and you don't mind it going down. If I could give 0 stars I would.

    Total Piece of Crap

DON'T waste your money! This drops the network several times an hour on the most basic setup. I'm furious that I spent $400 on this piece of crap and 1 star is too much for it. I had a cheap D-Link router for years that never dropped but needed something more robust for the house so researched and found this. I rely on my network for work so constantly cutting out 3 and 4 times in every meeting is making me crazy. RUN - RUN - RUN before thinking of buying this waste of space.

    Brick

To keep this short, I X10 bought the router through Best Buy, had issues with it locking up, Best Buy replaced with no issues. New one worked long enough for the warranty to expire, then during a firmware download, it locked up and would not reset after multiple attempts. Of course Netgear provides no service at all after the warranty without paying through the nose for it. At this point, I think the technical term for what I have now is a brick. Definitely lost a loyal customer, so will be looking at a new router from anyone but Netgear.

    Weaker than older routers

I purchased this because of its link aggregation abilities. As for the power of this router for coverage, its weaker than my older Asus rtac1900. What a joke, 450 dollars for a weaker coverage area. The other issue is, that there is no customer support, unless your willing to dish out more money. Their blog site for issues/resolutions is a complete joke. Do yourself a favor, don't waste any money on this pile of scat, unless of course you like an oversized, weak , babies first gui. Steer clear

My cat broke an antenna way to easy, and nobody seems to have one for sale! I cant believe im the only one in this situation, i would like to buy an antenna and netgear customer service is not willing to help... really? I paid 450$ for this router and now i have to hide it!!! It should come with free extra antenna in the box, or at least sell them when needed..very dissapointed in netgear customer service.

    wifi drops

It is the best router they have made for large houses, BUT....Soon after getting it the WIFI stated to drop. I've looked on the community pages and the problem seems to be wide spread with this router. They need to fix it if they can or take the hit and recall the router.

Brought the expensive piece of gear back in may 2018. I'm already noticing my connection is dropping and i had to reboot the Nighthawk to get the internet to work. This is becoming a bi-weekly problem. Im to the point of taking it back and get something more reliable.
