Just what I needed !
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did my homework on routers and this Netgear X 10 was the new kid on the block with incredible reviews. I live in a split level home with an extension into the back that creates an L effect into the backyard. My previous router just didn't give me the coverage I needed in order to work from various areas of my home. After reading the many reviews that stated how strong and far this Netgear X-10 could reach, I knew I had to give ita try. I had it professionally installed by Best Buy as well, since I didn't want to take any chances of my messing things up. Best two decisions I could've made. It's a dynamo as far as strength, speed, and capabilities go. I teach college classes that require online work and various servers to deal with, This router has made it so much easier and far more reliable to do what I have to do online, both professionally and recreationally. I couldn't be happier. It's definitely a win/win as far as dependable and powerhouse routers.go.

Expensive but worth it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I set up the X10 and immediately saw the difference in speed and range. While the range was only slightly better then the AT&T wireless the speed was much improved. We have a lot of users and this router handles the house much better than the AT&T router.

Reasonable speed and easy to set up - range ???
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second X10 in 2 years, the first died after 18 months in service. This is easy to install and configure and has good mobile apps to monitor and control the router. Main issue seems to be variability unit unit. The first unit could support 5G at 20 meters through 1 wall, this can't get 10 feet reliably. Unit is installed in identical location with no room changes. Am forced to support all devices on the 2g which seems to be a problem for AirPlay on Apple TV. I will try another copy borrowed from a friend to see if we get different results. Sadly, the Apps are good enough that my wife can manage the network when I'm away, so will continue with this product line but wish someone would comeuppance with a better unit with equal ease of use, then I wouldn't mind the price for a home network

Greater Router for media network
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The router took some time to set up and is very much for the advanced user. I called tech support which is free for new products by netgear. Once i got their help i now monitor who is on my network and pause internet for any devices that are not in use from my smartphone. Overall I would recommend it to anyone who wants better Wi-Fi features.

In some ways, not as good as R7000 it replaced
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our 5 year-old NetGear R7000 router performed well until our family of 5 was attempting to stream movies, play PS4, & surf the web simultaneously, at which point it struggled. So I decided to upgrade. While the X10 offers even better range in our 4,200 sq ft home, and handles the simultaneous demands better, there is one significant function where it fails on occasion: data throughput is slower. Using the speedtest app on my iPhone, I could always max out the 350 mb/s service from Spectrum Internet when we had the R7000. On the X10, I can only hit 160 mb/s. So I turned on QoS and it got worse. Disabled QoS and went back to 160. This is problematic for streaming YouTube videos on our various home theatre devices because now we can't get HD quality because the devices think we are on a slow connection. I have latest firmware. Will be opening a ticket w/ NetGear. Fortunately I have speedtest history to prove the R7000 was faster than the X10.
