Just like any router it can either be easy to set up or take some work. This was easy. The app works great for set up and updates.

If you're looking for a networking solution for multiple devices, this Nighthawk is great. We've had 10 devices connected at once throughout 4,000 square feet with no lag in performance.

I use modem/routers that are all in one. But this made me think twice. It’s super fast and looks pretty cool. Expensive but worth it

Previously I was using the modem/router unit supplied by my ISP, and with 10+ devices in the house connecting via WiFi I was experiencing frequent loss of connection. After purchasing this router, connecting it to the modem, configuring the modem as a bridge, and switching everything over to connect to the new WiFi networks I haven't had an issue since. It has some nice QoS controls so I can give devices different priorities, my gaming desktop now has no connection issues online at highest priority even when every other device is streaming. WiFi signal range and quality is also much improved.

I recently purchased this router instead of going with an eero mesh as I had not heard much about the eero product and did not personally know anyone using it. The Nighthawk X6 was a breeze to set up and configure (even advanced features). It's really been a "set it and forget it" router for my home network. I do have a home office with static IPs so I wish there had been a way to route static IPs directly to a second internal network (VLAN and passthru). I did not easily find a way to do this (and still haven't) which is why the 4 stars instead of 5. The ability to separate out the ports to specific IPs may be a bit more than most home networking systems need to be able to do, but it seems like a simple feature to add.

If you have multiple connected devices (I have 15) then this is the router for you. Pricey but worth every dollar. Triple band, dual processor and the genie app to manage all of it.

Good product which helped to get our internet running great. We live way out in the country and the router we had was not strong enough to handle our internet needs.

What a difference it made for my office! No matter how powerful the equipment is from local internet company, this router increased the single tremendously for 16-computer 4,000 sq.ft. office

With more and more of our devices requiring wireless internet connectivity, I needed to upgrade my router. Prior to purchasing the Nighthawk, streaming video was frustrating, as I would encounter regular pauses in playback. At first, I thought this was an issue that my internet service provider would need to resolve. However, after researching the issue (and the causes), I determined that the problem was my router. While the price of the Nighthawk was more than I originally wanted to pay, I am very satisfied with this purchase. For homes with many wireless internet-reliant devices, a strong router is needed - and the Nighthawk X-6 Tri-band wifi router has the power to deliver.

Wow! What a game changer. Before the NightHawk we were constantly having the kids get off line so Mom could finish her work. Now everything is zippity-do-dah without having to kick anyone off.

Not The Netgear Of Yesterday

Let me start that I was a fanboy of Netgear since the mid 2000's. Their products had great quality and they just lasted.....you were only getting rid of a Netgear router because it was obsolete. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case. I purchased this router to replace a ~ 4 year old dual-band Netgear router that had bit the dust in my home. I was not overly irate as I was thinking about upgrading to a more powerful router anyways when it passed. So, I purchased this router. The setup was a pain as the app wizard did not work correctly and I had to setup the old-fashioned way on my laptop - whatever. However, after nine months the 5G signal died on both 5G network bands. Reboots and factory restarts did not correct. Let me just say I know my way around a router and I tried adjusting settings to no correction. I reluctantly contacted Netgear customer support who proceeded to walk through a "script" of troubleshooting steps which I had already completed - I tried explaining I already completed what he was asking but he just got annoyed with me and started the script again. The unit was under warrantly so I sent it back for a refurb of the unit. In the time it took to get this processed I needed a router so I switched to Asus and have been very happy ever since.

The performance is average for what I expected. It is a bit pricey for average performance. Therefore the value to performance does not meet my expectation.
