This was a great purchase. I needed a router to work with the many divices you can imagine a household of 6 can have (smart phones, laptops, gaming computers, printera, smart tvs, and satelite). It has made everything work a lot faster with more accessibility. There were many times we could not get signals but are able to now. I highly recommend it

Easy setup, good coverage but upgraded to X10 for speed

I love netgear. There are so many pros with this router, no streaming issues, no lagging while playing online games, etc. Only down fall is the setup, it could be more user friendly. I am not talking about the plugging it in and hooking laptops and wireless items to it. I am talking more about the actual online setup.

I am very happy with this router. Very fast and a good iPhone and iPad app. I have told all my friends and family to upgrade as well.

This router was way too expensive for it's capabilities. It would not get 60 mgs and my cheap one will. This router is not worth it!

Very easy setup, on line app makes it very easy to monitor, immediate improvement upon installation with the wifi

this is a great router with fast speeds for all devices in the house. My favorite part is the netgear app I can control all devices indivually. The kids act up and the ps4 gets internet shut off while keeping everything else connected! Who has the power now! Lol

Bought this for my new house to replace a smaller router and slave. It has been great, I love it. I would buy it again in a second.

I’ve used google mesh Wi-Fi Velops none of them have fixed the issues I was having purchased the night hawk all issues resolved lagging while gameplay security cameras not connecting due to range or signal strength all resolved no issues whatsoever now

I own a 2 story home. Old router would not cover all of the home. This router does the job and with plenty of single strength.

Bought this to try to get signal out to the back porch where the Comcast/Xfinity Cisco branded gateway would not reach, nor would an Apple Time Capsule Gen1, even with a Airport Express extender right against the back wall. The X8000 will reach the back porch on 2.4GHz "N". One tip, I get terrible 5GHz performance when letting the router decide on traffic management on the two 5GHz radios. I think Netgear knows this as it comes out of the box with 3 SSIDs visible. I would not use the "Smart" traffic manager on 5GHz and use your head to make the decision of which radio to use, use 5G-2 for devices with 802.11 a/c, and anything that has slower radios like the b/g/n radios, stick them on the 5G-1 radio if they are close to the router and put anything that has signal issues on 2.4GHz if they are further away, lower frequencies penetrate walls and obstacles much better than higher frequencies! The Netgear web interface is pretty simple, setup is simple, true gigabit throughput on Cat5-e and Cat6 (figuring overhead) and around 880Mb/s on the 5G-2 radio using 802.11 a/c clients. You can also download the Netgear genie software to run on your computer to get immediate notices of issues the router wants to alert you to. Last note, make sure this thing can breathe, dont put it on anything but a flat hard surface and dont put anything on top of it, it will get crazy hot and start malfunctioning or just shut off, it has 3 radios and 4 processors in it. Ideally, also maintain a 3 foot gap between the router and any other electrical equipment/ adapters/ home security hubs/ smart home hubs/your computer/NAS units/ flourescent, or LED light bulbs, these all put off EM radiation and the quality of transformers (wall warts) of various pieces of equiment can be vastly different, I had one that was so badly made (big brand name on it, too), that it reduced the range of the 2.4GHz WiFi to about 5 feet due to RF jamming. Non Apple or Samsung made USB phone chargers are notoriously noisy and often a fire hazard as well. You get what you pay for. I've also seen them SEVERELY reduce the range of cellular devices while working in the field. If you have issues of this sort and moving the router away from all these sources of EMI, there are other options, you can buy high quality adapters for just about anything with interchangeable tips to power just about anything. Hope any of this helps, but the main gist is that the R8000 is a great router, they best I've ever used and the aggravation it has saved me from justifies the premium price.

Definitely made a big difference in connectivity with all devices but especially the xbox

I link this unit to my Verizon fios account so my computer in basement would have blazing speeds. Works great no drop speeds.

The X6 was recomended by the floor person. He said the he and his parents both use it and never gave a problem. I took his advice, I was tired of rebooting my old router every day. I have never rebooted even once. Streaming is seamless and when my son ties-up one band with streaming the other bands seamlessly take over.

Great distance and range. Speed is only as your service providers gives you (good luck with that Comcast users)

Best one we have had so far. We run 2 lap tops, 2 PCs, 2 iPads, and 2 Xbox ones in our home, and this seems to handle it all.

I upgraded my old Netgear 600 to the Nighthawk and have not regretted it. streaming and playing multi-player games have never been more smooth and I am getting to utilize all of my bandwidth. I did not know how much I was missing with my old router
