This product is one of the best mesh router packages available, on paper. But after using it a while, I discovered it has serious firmware problems.
Netgear actually had to take their latest firmware revision and list it as "older" than a previous one, to stop the Orbi from auto-updating to it -- because it makes the product so unstable.
With the latest firmware, my wireless devices were losing the ability to communicate over the wi-fi connection randomly, and would often not come back for 20-30 minutes at a time.
By using the older firmware they want you to run as a work-around, it contains a bug that causes my iPhone to randomly choose the slower 2.4Ghz network even though 5Ghz is available. It's also not possible to see which Orbi satellite a given wireless device is connected to, when you list the connection status of all the devices.
When things are working, performance is very good and the coverage you get is excellent too. So I like the hardware itself. I'm just not confident Netgear is capable of writing good, solid firmware to make these do what they're supposed to do.
I paid a lot of money to upgrade from 3 Apple Airport Extremes I used around the house and out in the garage previously (and lost a lot of money reselling them on the used market). I wasn't expecting to have to keep updating firmware as often as Netgear has released fixes for this issue or that issue ... followed by the latest series being so defective, it's really unusable! This feels like a beta test product.
Most of the I.T. networking professionals I'm friends with are using Ubiquiti gear. Not quite as user-friendly to set up, but works reliably and "no nonsense". I should have invested in that instead.

I was tired of having WiFi extenders spread out thru out my home, always dealing with connection problems so I bought Netgear's Orbi AC2200 Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi System. I went with the 3 Pack, because I wanted to ensure signal strength from one end of my home to the other end. Originally I was looking at the 2 pack and noticed that the 3 pack was $20.00 more so my choice was easy. I am a conservative consumer so I had done all my research before choosing the Orbi. Over-all Netgear has proven quality and reliability. I have strong wireless signal throught my home and all the way out to my garden (about 250 feet away from the base). I highly recommend the Orbi AC2200 Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi System.

I know the headline for this product seems lukewarm, but I'm pretty satified with this router. Once I got over the sticker shock, I notice how well it performs. I have a small, older home, with walls that are apparently thicker than most routers expect. I've had a hard time with coverage. The Linksys routers (both the 1900 & 3200 AC) failed miserably after three or four months use. It's been about 30 days for the Orbi and so far, so good. Almost no buffering, few dropped connections (and I suspect the fault of the Amazon Fire TV & Apple TV) and setup was deceptively easy. Overall, I'd recommend, but I'd like to how the router performs over the next few months.

Whole house coverage; husband hasn't complained. You know those man caves can be so remote, and wifi is important. Seriously though, having separate bands for incoming and outgoing wifi has seemed to help the issue of lost connectivity.

This system was recommended by a geek squad associate, but I waited until I found it in sale at bestbuy.com to purchase. Set up was easy and less than 30 minutes. Our signal strength increased immediately to full bars on all devices throughout the house, we are very satisfied.

This is great. We have a beach house with 2 stories and about 5000 sq feet. We went to Best Buy looking for a wireless set up. The lady helping us recommended this. We bought it and set it up ourselves by the simple directions. It is great. No problems. Wifi all over the house. We recommend it.

I purchased the Orbi WiFi mesh system because we have a 3 story house and the modem is in the basement. So the hardwired computers downstairs had great internet but upstairs was terrible. The Orbi has allowed our mbps to go from about 15 to 115 Which is amazing! I would highly recommend it!

Has really made a difference! With teenagers playing games and on the internet all the time we were having issues with our signal. Now we get a steady signal in every part of the house. Even outside. Our security cameras are always online now. No signal loss. Very good system.

Orbi was very easy to set up and we noticed a difference right away! I love the simple look of it as we have one on each floor. One in the kitchen, one in the family room and one in the office. It's sleek design makes it look more of a decor accessory than a wifi system.

Terrific wifi system, easy to setup and covers most of our house with the same ssid and password, no more having to switch to a different ssid for a wifi extender in a different room. not a lot of settings to mess with so easier than all the other routers out there.

I have a large house on two levels , about 4500 sq. ft overall and had very poor wifi internet coverage beyond my main room where the Wifi router used to be placed. Despite paying for 200 mbps, I used to get < 100 mbps in the basement and at times, no internet at all whatsoever.
Orbi 3 pack routers are quite powerful and it was easy to setup. I now consistently get upwards of 150 mbps everywhere with no network holes whatsoever.
I docked 1 star since the app is pretty poor on features compared to either a Google wifi system or an Eero router. You can't prioritize devices or choose family times to switch off my kids TV or other devices too. Plus, one of the satellites is not on the 5 GHz dedicated backhaul.
But despite these flaws, the core functionality works great for a reasonable price point. I am happy with this product so far.

I live in a 2 floor 4800 sq.ft home. I purchased the Orbi to improve coverage and maintain speed as for my 4 wifi users. Easiest set up, nice app functionality. Works as advertised with good speed and wifi to the farthest corners of the house! There remains the much mentioned reconnection issue (having to reconnect some devices several times throughout the day). After the latest firmware update, the issue is non issue with devices that stay in the home and occasionally with smart phones (reconnecting once every 1-3 days). Serviceable, but not perfect.

Before purchasing the Orbi system I had a wireless extender and I had to use powerline to provide internet services around the house. We have a section of the house smack dap in the middle with 24 inch stone walls. I purchased the Orbi system after talking with the sales staff at Best Buy. I'm very happy with the ease of setup and the coverage. I purchased a set of 3 Orbis (router + 2 satellites). I do not have any dead zones and my outdoor Nest camera has a consistent wireless signal. Even my basement has a consistent, strong signal. Very happy with this purchase!

Wanted to get this for a while and finally got one last week. Setup was super easy and I was amazed by quality and speed of print. Picture is ready to touch by hand immediately without worrying about finger prints. Buy it, you won’t regret it.

I bought the Netgear orbi for 6000sq ft about one week ago. So far I am very satisfied with the results. Very easy to setup using a computer (MacBook Pro with High Sierra) or the app on my iPhone. I am getting my full band width in third different locations. Also I am impressed after touching the router and the satellites because there appeared to be NO HEAT. To me, this is a good sign that this product will last longer than my other routers that I have owned (top of the line Linksys and Netgear) as they ALL exhibited heat.

When we were shopping for wireless cameras, our main concern was battery life. So when we purchased Arlo, we were apprehensive at first about the battery life but are now very happy customers! We’ve had our cameras up for over six months now and barely had to charge the batteries this past weekend. The rechargeable batteries for this product are awesome! We’re very impressed with the picture quality, the flexibility of putting the cameras anywhere, and the fact that you can hear and speak through each camera as well. The notifications sent to our phones are a bonus along with a battery indicator so you are always informed as to the battery status of each camera. These features are on their app and it’s very user-friendly. We love this product and are glad that we bought the Arlo cameras!

We have had many routers and kept returning due to not working well. Once we got the Orbi we where very happy. Our house is 4100 sq ft and it works well all over the house. Now the issue is our internet. So very pleased.

Went to bestbuy for browsing and walked out with a new whole home WiFi. I was skeptical but this thing works good. My last router was like a restrictor plate on a nascar. Now I’m Top Fuel racing. Zoom

No need for Wi-Fi range extenders, Orbi System constantly talks to each satellite to maintain a constant and healthy signal to your devices. Setup is a breeze, no worries. System has pleasant design.
