Living in a 6000 sqft home my Apple Router just could not provide the range or speed I needed. I upgraded to the Orbi. Setup took less than 10 min using the orbi app. The features thru the app lets me control all users on the network. The speed & range is Best I have ever experienced. Going to purchase another for my office.

I began researching, trying to find the best wifi system for our situation. We have a 2500 sq ft House and lots of users/devices. We stream everything (Sling TV, Netflix, VUDU, Amazon Video and Music, Youtube, etc.) and this is the best wifi system we have ever owned. Easy to set up. No connectivity issues. Fast. Love it.

I have used other Orbi products in the past and most of them have disappointed me in range and strength of signal. This item has a huge range and a very strong signal. I installed it in actually like 10-15 min with zero troubles, just follow the instructions in the app and you are done in no time. I installed this without anyone in my home noticing a difference and then moved the main router way to the other side of the house. Fantastic product and I would 100% recommend it to anyone with a poor Wi-Fi signal or in need of covering a large area.

I was a little skeptical of jumping due to the pricepoint. I have used a multitude of routers over the years and this setup is a good 3x as expensive as anything I have previously purchased. However, due to a new larger house and location of the modem, it was difficult to get good coverage in all rooms. I used a repeater for awhile, but speeds were inferior and it always seemed to be spotty in places still. I decided to bite the bullet and give this a try and I'm not disappointed. Coverage is now great throughout the house (and yard). Speeds are excellent. Setup is very easy. While I'm comfortable and used to logging into a router to make changes, the Orbi app makes it even more convenient.

I’m with 50MBps plan with my network provider. I never hit more than 45MBps. There was more dead space in the house. After installing this product, my entire house started having strong signal with 60MBps speed. No more struggle with signal boosters and extenders.I definitely recommend this product.

Easy-ish to setup. Although app leaves a little to be desired. Installed this in my 2 BR 1700sq/ft 2 story house. Usually between 20-25 connected devices on average. Had tried the Nighthawk X6 mesh, and was super disappointed. This in comparison is amazing. Speeds coming into router are 480Mbps, speeds out throughout the house are at minimum 220Mbps on wifi- with many spots in the house getting full speeds over 400Mbps. Speeds stay up no matter where I'm moving to, while Im walking between rooms, Entire house is covered, as is the front and back yards. Overall,

This setup is super easy. Positioning the satellite is aided by the colored ring on top turning a certain color if it’s a good location, prior to pushing the configure button. It’s a fully functioning router with advanced settings etc. better coverage in our sprawling house that we’ve ever had.

I am happy with this product using mesh technology! It was simple to hookup and customer support was great with the few I had. I struggled for many years using a LinkSys mesh that I purchased from Apple Store had problems with numerous phone calls to their support team where each call averaged close to 2+ hours to troubleshoot a problem with each tower. Spent 3x more money for slower speed and less coverage with LinkSys mesh. I had 4 towers from LinkSys and it still falls short for what my NETGEAR system offers with only two units.

After years of declining performance with my Apple Time Capsule and Airport Express extender, I finally threw in the towel and picked up the Orbi. It wasn't terribly difficult to setup but did not work correctly out of the box on the first try. Once setup though, the performance is great. I get full coverage everywhere in my house, and the wireless speed is just as fast as my wired connection. Easily 2x speed improvement over my prior setup on wifi. I like the design of the Orbi and having the back haul on a different band really makes it fast.

I recently changed internet carriers and decided to use my own equipment. I bought a new modem and used an older router. The router wasn't cutting it. I had several wifi weak or dead spots in my old 2-story, 2,100 sq. ft. house. After reading numerous reviews and getting advice from a Best Buy sales person, I got the Orbi. I now have a fast, strong signal throughout my house. Set up was easy. It's a bit expensive although Best Buy had it on sale for a reasonable price. Very happy with the product.

It was easy to install. Had a bit of an issue with getting the satellite to connect. All I did was restart the install from scratch (also removed and reattached coax cable on the modem), and it came up with no issues. I now have three bars in my previous dead spots. I have about 3500 sq ft on three floors. I plan on buying an outdoor satellite to cover my front yard as well as my waterfront because I'm purchasing NG Arlo cameras. I haven't had any connectivity issues so far. It's noticeably faster. I have Hue, Alexa, Sonos, 6 smart TVs - some with Rokus, various tablets, laptops, phones, etc. I'm very happy.

Replaced a netgear that just couldn’t reach entire small house. The setup is easy but app is not yet full featured. Going to Orbi site gets you full setup details. The app is helpful for quick checks only. Coverage is great and no drops when moving to the satellite and speed is great.

Had a basic Netgear router. We moved into a larger home and the signal did not reach everywhere. This system reaches to all the corners of our house and provides speeds we never had before. I recommend it to anyone looking for a strong signal throughout their house. 3300sq ft house

I had the Orbi 2200 system. It was acceptable but I wanted faster speeds and better coverage. I switched to the Orbi 3000 and not only am I getting much faster speeds, the coverage is far superior as I had hoped. I have recommended this to multiple friends who work at home like I do. I have been in IT for 23 years and know what I am talking about. If you set these up right, you will not have issues. I will purchase again if needed. The only negative is the Circle app is a but buggy as others have mentioned, although it is slowly improving.

    Really Great WiFi Experience

After running through a gauntlet of WiFi and firmware issues for weeks with my previous router I decided to take a chance on the Orbi WiFi system. I had used the Linksys Velop in the past, but on paper this one seemed better thanks to the bigger dedicated back haul. After getting everything setup it's been rock solid and speedy WiFi in every corner of the house. In the box you get 2 units; the router and the satellite. The router and satellite are identical except the router has an Ethernet port dedicated to WAN. I will say that both are quite large compared to the other mesh systems, but they're not ugly and are inconspicuous enough that they're not going to draw too much attention to themselves. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the router has 3 LAN ports and the satellite has 4. This is a huge plus for me because most other mesh systems will maybe give you one or two LAN ports. I have at least one device that must be connected via LAN and several that benefit from it. The system is specified as 3000AC. I do want to go over what that means because it's a little misleading. What your devices will get from the system is either 866 Mbps on the 5 GHz band or 400 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band. The dedicated radio that links the router and satellite together is 1733 Mbps, but your devices will never see that speed unless you wire directly into the satellite, and even that is limited to gigabit. I think it's a good setup, but effectively that makes the experience of using the router and satellite more like 1200AC. It's not a knock against the Orbi because it's still better than something like Google WiFi, which has no dedicated back haul at all, but it's something to be aware of. The setup process is pretty straightforward. First you connect the router to your modem and then place the satellite somewhere else in your house. I placed my router on my second floor where my modem is and I placed the satellite downstairs behind my TV. The router and the satellite sync automatically and the colored LEDs on the top of them let you know if the sync was successful and if the connection is strong. From there, you finish the setup through Netgear's web interface. I didn't have any issues getting through this, but I think Linksys and Google have a better setup experience. I've been using the Orbi for a couple of weeks now and haven't had any issues at all with our WiFi. It combines the 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz network into a single SSID and from what I can see does a good job of making sure that each device is connected at the best possible band and speed. Having the satellite behind my TV meant I was able to connect my TV, Xbox, and Apple TV to the LAN ports to take advantage of the 1733 Mbps back haul and those connections have been rock solid. I haven't seen any connection drops and I haven't had to reset it. The decision to go with a mesh system or a conventional router really depends on your situation, but if you're in the market for a mesh system I think this is the best performer.

I had moved into a 4100+ sq ft house and my router wasn't cutting it. Just one of these gave me full bars where I had about 2/3 before, and the other gave coverage into what barely had signal before. Really easy to set up. Gave full speed of my Internet connection in a speed test.

I got immediate speed improvements on my TV downloads. While relatively large, these units are attractive and blend in if you give a little thought to placement. Installation was not too bad. Some of the simple steps in the quick start guide didn't go as expected but a little experimenting and I was back on track without resorting to the website or tech support line. Generally easy to install and setup. Recommend highly if you are looking for an internal speed boost (this product will NOT speed up your internet service provider line speed) to get the most out of the service your ISP supplies and/or if you are looking for larger coverage area.

Greatly Improved WiFi Coverage and Extended Range

Our cable provider launched a new gateway (DVR/Modem/Router, in one unit) which was been great for our tv service as it can record double the amount of shows. The router was supposed to be many times better than the previous generation as it had both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz channels (old unit was 2.4 GHz only). Once they installed it, we found it to only be marginally better in certain parts of our house (1,100 sq. ft. bricked ranch). With 110 M/bit Service (110 download, 10 upload) we would only get 40/5 right next to the router and one room away more like 15/3. This was unacceptable at best! After a careful review search I decided to go with the ORBI because of a few reasons. 1st, we have multiple devices such as phones, laptops, streaming media (Netflix, Pandora, etc.), so traffic can be quite busy during prime-time hours (8-11PM, for example). The ORBI back channel allows the two devices (router and satellite) to communicate on their own channel, so that bandwidth available to users is unaffected. The old router had a channel and many people were sharing it, thus things like Netflix which needs a constant stream of data, would shutter, pause, stop, etc. 2nd, the router is located it the front center of the house, but we often like to sit on the back patio, which is through 3-4 inside walls as well as an exterior brick wall. With the cable company’s router, I could only manage 4-5M/bit download loads and most of the time it would time out and do nothing. So, range is greatly improved! The ORBI solved all our problems, the signal is strong (averaging 95-110 download and usually right at 10-10.3 on the upload). This is the case right next to the router, right next to the satellite, sitting outside, basically everywhere on our property. I even went behind the garage a did a speed test, which would be going through the back of the house (brick), the front of the garage (brick) and the back of the garage (wood siding) and I still got 45-50 M/bit, which was what I would see standing right next to the older router. Overall speeds 50 feet from the router or satellite are nearly as strong as being right next to the old router. Another benefit is our gateway seems to be operating much more efficiently since its only job is now to broadcast shows and send out a wired internet signal to the ORBI (I disabled the router and make sure you do so with yours, so they don’t compete against each other). The units look nice and have not had to be restarted or managed in any way since they were installed originally about a month ago. I simply hooked them up (follow the quick setup guide), updated the firmware (easy 2-3 click process) and that was it. The cost is substantially more than other router systems, but the multi point mesh and the fact that they have the dedicated back channel really seems to be a step forward. I would hands down recommend them. On a side note, public wi-fi that you use to think was fast will feel slow after using this setup, in fact my wired experience is almost identical to my desktop which is connected via ethernet.

Easy set-up. Eliminated the dead spots in my house. I even have half maximum speed in my shed all the way at the edge of my property line. I mean, I don't need internet in my shed, but I wanted to see how far and fast it would be. I am impressed. I highly recommend a wired backhaul. Simply put, its a wire that runs from the main router to the satellite. You don't need to do this, but it will make it run at peak, especially the farther away you place the satellite.
