A reliable fan that has withstood the test of time

We have a slibhtly older version the one with just one front caster well. The second caster wheel in the front might make it a little harder to navigate but will habe better stability. We bought ours in May of 2021. It has been through rain storms. It get wet all the time. We cover it for winter and thats about it. It would probably last longer if we covered it when not in use in summer months but we got sort of lazy. The fan itself is impressive. But when you turn on the misting feature the wow facture kicks in. Hot sunny days become very pleasant. The msit is super fine and its amazing how it works. Most misters simply force water through a very fine pin hole. This one pumps water onto a very fast moving smaller fan as that is what you see in the center the fan. Any excess water that drips down is collected and returned to the tank via a small hoseline increasing efficiency and extending amount of time between refilling the generously large tank. 5 years of continuous use in the summer proves this to be a durable workhorse. This was the first yeat i had to do some maintenance. The line that collectd excess water from the mister clogged. I cleared it by forcing water in and it works fine again. Beginning of each season for good measure we bleach the tank and I added bleaching the water return line for added safety against any possible mold. It may not be necessary but i might at bacterostat meant for humidifiers in the water tank. Never experienced any mold or mildew most likely due to my beginning of season bleach maintenance. I paid $499 in 2021 and it wasnt through Best Buy. It was delivered to my door with no issues probably from same vendor. The current price is way too expensive if you ask me. I could see the price maybe go to $550 or $600. No way is it worth it in the 800 range. The only issues from 5 years of use is the protective grating that hoises the fan is starting to rust. But that is our fault for leaving it out in the rain. The other thing we noticed is the shiny plastic water tank no longer shines. Its now “cloudy” due to sun exposure. Thats expected thoigh. It still works so thats all that matters to us. A fan should NEVER be left out in the rain. And NEVER left plugged in. We jsut got lazy. If we wheeled it into an enclsure it woulf last a lifetime. Our example proves its durability though. I hope the price becomes reasonable as if in the event this one does end up dying I would definitely buy another. But not for 800. Their are plenty of other smaller options to buy so this price is not competitive.
