Its okay, doesn't automatically unload videos to phone, you have to have your car turned on to download or remove the sims card to download.

Item did not work, a week later Nextbase responded to my question. Horrible customer service, missed my return by date at Best Buy by 1 day & was refused a refund. Both companies ruined my experience with you!

Video quality is fair the biggest problem I had is the field of view is very narrow. Not great for a dash cam in my opinion.

The Nextbase Piqo 2K Dash Camera is a great addition to any vehicle! NextBase makes awesome dash camera's, and the Piqo is no slouch. Its sleek profile makes it harder to spot, and with no screen, it is less distracting in your window. It is very easy to forget it is even there. Installing is a breeze. The kit comes with a wet wipe and dry wipe for mounting the base. It mounts with double sides tape and is very strong. There is also a second mounting base that you can use for another vehicle if you want to swap the camera out, or just keep as an extra. There is also a trim removal tool to be able to hard wire and keep the power wire hidden behind the trim panels. There is about a 5 foot USB-C to USB-C cable to power the camera. I love this as it gives much more versatility to what you are able to mount the dash camera to. Not to fear though, there is also a 2 port 12v car plug that is comes with as well so you can plug in your dash camera and something else. Included is 32 GB Micro SD Memory Card, which is plenty of storage, but you can upgrade to a higher amount if you want. It has a large SD shell you can put the Micro card into if your computer requires the large version. The camera itself is very simplistic. The power cord plugs into the side of the camera, it slides off of the camera base with a little effort, and besides the lense, on the backside is just a single button. Most of the camera functions are part of the Nextbase App which you will want to download. You can connect over wifi with the camera and change settings, watch your footage, and even edit and share it. You can also set up voice control with Nextbase's very own Nexy Voice. The camera has a resolution of 1440P, or 2K video quality at 30fps. It provides a great video quality, but the 30 fps brings down the overall quality just a bit. It is still very clear and high quality footage. It does have a mic input which picks up sounds pretty well, even outside of the car. The sound can get loud and distorted on the playback if you have your music up loud. The different features of the camera is where the Piqo really shines. You are able to access smart parking if you have a always on power source, which documents door dings and hits or knocks. The Emergency SOS service is available as a subscription package where 911 is automatically notified with your GPS coordinates in the event of an accident. The witness mode will send out a text to a number of your choice telling them you are in need of help if you are out driving and put in a scary or uncomfortable situation so they can call for help if you are not able to. Guardian Mode keeps tabs on your driving and updates you with footage and statistics with the built in G Sensor so if your kids or friend or someone else is driving your car you can tell what they were doing. This mode mixed with guardian mode is great for your kids vehicle to help keep them safe. Overall, this dash camera has worked amazing and the voice commands work well. This has definitely been a great addition to my vehicles.

The Nextbase Piqo 2K Dash Camera is, solid, compact, and has a variety of features that makes it a must have dash cam for those looking for something that isn’t too distracting. Now one of the reasons the Nextbase Piqo 2K isn’t distracting is that it doesn’t have a screen. In order to view or send your videos, you need to use the Nextbase app. I can see people going either way on not having a screen, but the screen omission provides a smaller footprint and doesn’t make passengers as uneasy when they see themselves in the dashcam’s screen. As implied in the Nextbase Piqo 2k name, the video quality is 2k resolution, is clear, has night vision, and has a wide angle lens to make sure it captures as much as possible. The installation process is straightforward, thanks to the included adhesive mount, the INCLUDED microsd card, and the clear instructions. The hardest part will be routing the power cable in your car. You will need to use the included plastic prying tool to route the power cable from your power source to the Nextbase Piqo 2k. The Nextbase Piqo 2K is WiFi, Bluetooth, and GPS enabled. This connectivity allows for easy access to the videos stored via the Nextbase app and the GPS provides accurate location information associated to the video being recorded. You can also set speed and location limits which will notify you if someone is going faster than they should or to a location they shouldn’t be in. There is also a G sensor which detects when there is a change in G force (hard braking, collision, etc.). What the G sensor does is lock the footage so it will not get deleted by loop recording which is a very good feature to have in case of a catastrophic moment where saving the footage might not be the first thing running through your mind. Another handy feature is the smart parking feature. If someone bumps your parked car, the Nextbase Piqo 2K will start recording the event and hopefully capture identifying information. I have experienced a variety of crazy driving situations and I don’t like any of my cars to not have a dashcam. I might end up equipping my other cars with this dashcam because it is that good.

There are a staggering amount of dash cams on the market. Many costing several hundreds of dollars with a dizzying array of features. Sometimes you just need a simple dash cam at an affordable price point. The Nextbase Piqo 2K seems to hit that mark. The pill shape of the Piqo is similar to some webcams with an inverted base. Build is sturdy with a singular button for functions like pairing and marking videos to be protected, the lens which will record at up to 1440p @30fps, microSD slot and the USB C power port. The Piqo can also be removed from the adhesive base and transferred to another vehicle and a second adhesive base is included in the package. Installation was a breeze. The toughest part would be routing the cable from the area of rear view mirror across the headliner, down the A pillar and along the door seal into the glove box area. My vehicle has a 12V power jack in the the glove box and easy access to space behind. The Piqo dual port 12V adapter. This allows me to deliver power to the Piqo and my Qi2 cell phone charger. Clean install in under 20mins. Pairing was just as easy just follow the app prompts. I was up and running in just about 30mins total. The Piqo has a viewing angle of 140deg which will cover the entirety of the hood of my car. Basic functionality of just recording in 2K during the day performed well. And license plates are legible when vehicles aren't flying by in the opposite direction. Night time performance is not as clear and making out license plates is that much more difficult, although they can be made out when behind the other vehicle while stopped. Recordings are captured in 1minute intervals and will continue to record over the oldest footage once the card capacity is reached. Using the button on the Piqo or using the voice command "Hey Nexy Protect" will lock the video to prevent being overwritten. But taking the SD card out after your drive and dumping the video onto your computer when feasible would be the best way to preserve an incident you wish to save. You can also connect the Piqo to your phone via the Nextbase App and several settings can be modified from there, like eliminating tones, resolution and frame rates and live view (good for framing your camera) just to name a few. There an accessory cable separately available for that will hardwire the Piqo to provide constant power which can enable a sentry mode to continue to record even when the car is not running. A subscription service that will send out sos messages to emergency contacts and save videos to the cloud. I opted not to look into the add ons at the moment and want to use it as a basic non connected dash cam. So far the ease of installation, day to day usage and video quality have pleased me. It's something I hope to never have to rely on but it is a bit of affordable piece of mind. If i had to list a few negatives it would be the lack of the ability to add a rear channel, the longer shape of the cam; I would've preferred a horizonal body and the ability to dim the light ring showing the status of the camera. In this day and age, it almost seems like car manufacturers should building them right into their cars so they can raise their prices even more. I'm sure they can monetize them even further through subscriptions. Until then, there are products like the Nextbase Piqo 2K Dash Cam which will bring you some added protection at a budget price.
