this is super device...great image recordings of both front and rear of your car. provides back up w/ use of sd card and standard back-up on camera alone. audio recording is also a nice added feature. great buy for cost!!

don't buy this cam if you want to use Nextbase app, app has connectivity issue and connection is super slow, it take few minutes to view clip on your phone. customer service is in UK not in USA. Every time got msg that call option is available after 2 hours and when you try after 2 hour got another msg that its available after 5 hours. i wish if i opened my cam within return period then defiantly returned this cam bought this cam just because of quick magnet mount DONT BUY DONT BUY

I have to reconnect the camera in the app to get any video footage. The app only works when I’m in my car in the driveway and that’s if I can’t actually get it to connect after trying 10 times.

I was pretty excited to try this NextBase dash cam. I have another webcam made by a different manufacturer but I'm not particularly happy with it. The NextCam is smaller, records in a higher resolution and is much more user friendly. This dash cam was a lot easier to setup and use than my last dash cam. I was initially skeptical of the low review ratings for the app. Much of the negative feedback was justified but I'll address that more in-depth later. The user guide suggests charging the camera before use and includes a USB cable for doing so. The USB cable plugs into the same port as the 12V DC automobile power adapter. That wouldn't be so bad if not for the fact that the port design makes swapping cables very annoying. That's because the car adapter connector fits fully inside a narrow cavity and is very difficult to remove from the port. To prevent risking long-term damage to the cable, I just charge with the car adapter only. The camera works with both adapter or battery power, so it's not mandatory to keep recharging it independently. Another thing I like about this camera compared to my last is the LCD touchscreen. It's easy and intuitive to use and very helpful for seeing what's being recorded. My last camera did not have a screen and all footage had to be viewed through the smartphone app. That's fine for playback but for setup and during use, an LCD screen is almost a must. Cable routing is done by running the cable along the seam between the vehicle windshield and headliner. It sounds way more complicated than it actually is. In lay terms, simply tuck the wire in the gap between the vehicle ceiling and the windshield. The AC adapter has an LED status light which is a very understated but essential feature. Not only does it assure me the camera is getting power but the LED alerts me if I forget to unplug the cable from an always-on power outlet. Not too big of a deal during summer but far riskier during the winter. All cables connect via mini-USB connectors. A little old school but I keep the camera inside the vehicle and pop the card out if there's something I need to download. For that reason, a more versatile cord isn't necessary. The camera has two windshield mount options, tape or suction. I opted for suction because we use the camera between two vehicles. I can't speak to how well the tape works, although it is the same exact type I use on my toll pass transmitter. The transmitter has remained reliably in place on my windshield for three years in all types of weather, even in direct summer sunlight. That makes me believe the tape will work fine if I ever decide to use it. The camera itself is very easy to use and powers on automatically when the vehicle is started. The LCD display is nice and crisp and the camera resolution and quality is very good. The camera records clips in one-minute intervals in both low and high resolution. There is an embedded line of info on the bottom of recordings with camera model, GPS coordinates, speed, time and date. Recorded footage is saved to a micro-SD card (not included). The card can be removed and read on a PC, phone or tablet. The last thing I want to mention is the app. It is easily the weak link of the bundle. I was initially happy with it because it found my NextBase cam right away. However, it immediately started a firmware update which was nothing but headaches. First the app notified me that I needed to insert a micro-SD card into the phone. So I took my phone out of it's case, popped the SIM tray, picked up the dropped SIM card off the floor, inserted the micro-SD card and formatted. When I tried resuming the update it still said I needed to insert a micro-SD card. Figuring it didn't like the phone's formatting, I removed the card and formatted it in the NextBase cam. Then I re-inserted it into the phone and tried the update again only to get the same insert micro-SD card error. By that point, I got fed up and just did it all on my PC. I inserted the still formatted card into my PC, copied the necessary BIN files to the root of the card, inserted the card back into the camera, powered it on and thankfully, the update completed without issue. That will be my update method of choice going forward. I assume it will also be the method of iPhone users and others without a micro-SD slot in their mobile device. Once I got past the update, the app was pretty disappointing. About the only interesting or useful feature I found was an option to set up Alexa voice control. I knew the 322 wasn't supposed to be Alexa enabled but I figured I'd give it a try. The app made it appear as if it would happen and I got as far as adding a new device.Once I switched from the NextBase app to the Alexa app as directed, the Alexa app couldn't find the camera. That only confirmed what I already knew. Just would be better if the app didn't make it appear as if it is available. Maybe grey the Alexa option out if the app doesn't detect a compatible camera. Other than the app, no complaints at all with this camera. Would be a five-star if not for the really bad app. Thankfully, it's not exactly mandatory.

This is a great dash cam, it works really well. And I like the way it connects to your phone.

Worked fine for 2 days added rear camera also worked with micro card till I added rear camera then said it wasnt good enough was below u3 grade and wouldnt work then unplugged rear camera and it worked then it was blinking on and off thought it had ciglighter problem wouldnt power to it wasnt the problem though then it wouldnt come on anymore took it back and up grade to the 500 series and it worked fine but still have micro card problem when I plug in rear camera got to contact manufacturers to find out what's going on . Like the camera other wise

Horrible!! All around horrible! Bought item in November, bought hard wire kit, bought rear window camera.. paid for installation and now with the weather heating up, the camera shuts down completely and doesn’t turn back on until it’s taken out of the car and brought inside for a while. The weather is only about 65 degrees right now, what should expect for when it heats up to 115 in the summer?? Useless! Their customer support is no help at all as it’s in Europe. I have a thinkware dash cam in my other car and it’s never had any issues since I’ve owned it around 5 years. It’s past the return date so I’m stuck with it. Very disappointed

A must have because we own a new car. Want to keep the insurance down and this will help. Like that it has audio, and auto erase so no worries about a full sd card. Had to have my mechanic install it, I dont like wires hanging everywhere. Cant wait to start using it.

For the price, this is the best camera. The picture clarity is close to high def. Continuous, looping video recording is great. This product is hard wired into my dash and mounted under the rear visor. It’s out of site and does not interfere with my vision. I LOVE this camera.
