Camera Will Not Charge
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is not a bad camera but the reason I gave it one star is because it will not charge. I first bought one on September 11 and it charged for one week, then it stopped charging. I exchanged it for another cam thinking it was just defective, and the second one wouldn't even charge out of the box. Without the backup battery the parking mode is useless. Very, very disappointed because I really liked the camera. Will be returning for a second time and going with something else.

Posted .Hello,
I am very sorry to hear that your 322GWs would not charge. As this was not isolated to a single dash cam, it was unlikely to be a problem with the cam itself, but the cable or power source. Please ensure you are using the included USB cable to charge the cam in your home, with it connected to a mains power source that has an output of 5V/2amp. If the adaptor or port that you are using is less than 5V/2amp, then this would only be enough to turn the dash cam on but not charge the battery. You can usually tell this by a flickering blue LED on the cam.
Once charged suitably, the 322GW will have a 10-15 minutes back up battery life suitable for emergency uses, such as the loss of power during an incident. This will allow the camera to continue recording to the end of the clip before switching off.

I'm really sorry to hear that you're having a problem with your suction mount. Fantastic Dashcam
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This NextBase company is based out of UK. I got the camera couple of weeks ago and installed it over the next weekend. I wanted to use it at least for a week before providing a review. It is very easy to install on the dash and run the cable. I installed it on my newly bought Toyota Venza SUV. The quality of video and photo are great as well as the ease of use. I really wish there was a rear camera with it as well, just like the one I have on my other SUV (Hyundai Palisade) which is also from Nextbase. But that's not a big concern right now. I've also heard that you can buy it separately and attach to the system. On the side of the unit is a connector similar looking to an HDMI port and this is used to add that additional camera modules such as the rear view camera. So I might as well do that. Talking about packaging, it is packaged well, all contents are inside easy to open heavy duty plastic bags. Also sponge protection around the contents inside. Camera feels really good quality and all the attachments with it. The quick install booklet was easy to read and follow. Easy to fit and install. The camera itself is small and looks good. Important for something that is going to stay in your front windshield. The material around the lens feels very cheap, but this is something that will be under no strain and very little if any attention, so that is fine. Set up and menus are fairly easy to figure out. Changing settings is easy and intuitive. It has an outstanding feature set for the price. This camera does not come with a micro sd card. This is not a criticism. It's just important to remember that you will need one for this to work. Don't forget to turn the features you want on. Many of them are off by default. Set up is simple and straight forward. The wires are very thin and easy to tuck away under the weather stripping and trim. The camera resolution is a great: 1440p at 30fps, but if you prefer, you can use it to get 60fps at 1080p. This also can vary when you add a rear camera where the resolution of the rear camera will be either 720p or 1080p. The device is controlled via the touch screen which works well and gives access to the menu and even adds an Alexa button to the screen once set up. The camera itself when connected to a computer simply mounts as an external volume enabling you to search by date and then view the chunks of footage with your usual media player though free video editing software is available from the maker's website which is rather generous. The recorded video quality is excellent. The Nextbase app and Alexa app work together, and provide the ability to use the dashcam via voice commands, through your mobile devices data connection. Lots of menu options to change to your liking or just leave relatively alone. I am a techie person and understand the more involved settings with no difficulty. Overall, it's a great camera, great quality and the bonus that may be good for you is a potential discount on your car insurance when using the Nextbase!

Not worth even the discounted price I paid
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Maybe it was my windshield but I could not get a workable angle to get a good angle in the cabin on the rear camera and the road so it was returned. Impossible to review footage via the app
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a perfect dashcam s long as you don't ever need to review the footage. I've had 2 of these and trying to connect to them with the Nextbase software is nearly impossible. It's a nightmare trying to get the camera to connect to your phone. Additionally, my first device expanded because of the heat (or something) and pushed out the screen. Stay away!

Posted .Hello Amart,
Thank you for your review, I am very sorry to hear that you had an issue with your 322GW.
Do you have Screen Saver enabled on the camera please? This will turn the screen off when driving, but the camera will still record.
Alternatively, please try powering the camera using the USB cable inside your home to check if the issue persist. If the issue is resolved, this is likely to be an issue with power supply or cabling within the car.
Please contact the Nextbase Technical Support Team on +1 800 2805 178 (USA) and they can troubleshoot the issue further.

High Quality; Easy (?) Setup
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Nextbase 322GW is easily one of the highest quality dash cams I have looked at. From my first look out of the box, it seemed solid and designed to last. I'm really picky about clean installations when it comes to car electronics, so it took me about an hour to get it wired properly. Even then, I still used the cigarette lighter socket, which I normally give to a radar detector. A more permanent solution (possibly a hardwired USB port) is in the works. Oh yes - the unit is powered through a standard micro-USB connector. Nice. The initial setup was simple and fast, so you can be up and running quickly. But the setup is somewhat incomplete. There are settings that you can't adjust (or even see) until you download the app onto a smartphone and pair the devices. Fortunately, there are iOS and Android versions, so most folks are covered. Unfortunately, pairing took several tries before the two shook hands. Once done however, I was good to go. Oh - as soon as you've paired, you should check for available firmware updates. This dash cam has a lot of cool features, like "parking mode" where the device comes on automatically from movement in view of the camera. This is nice if you park in a quiet place with little traffic. If someone approaches your vehicle (again, within view of the camera), it will be recorded. Because my vehicle is parked in a lot with constant movement, I was inundated with "junk video" clips. It's good that the video files are date/time stamped, so you can easily pick what you want to view. You will definitely want to download the app ASAP, because trust me, you will probably want to turn off that annoying beep tone. Another setting that requires the app is "turn off when power is cut." With this, the camera shuts down when I turn the key off, and comes back up when the key is on. I actually ran down the internal battery in one afternoon because it kept waking up from all the movement, but didn't have a constant power supply. With this understanding, I think my next project will have at least two hardwired USB ports: one that is powered all the time (so I can charge something while I am away from the vehicle) and one that is switched. The quality of the live display is really amazing, even in relatively low light. Video recordings include audio, which is really nice if you have a collision, as any comments made prior (or afterward by the other (possibly irate) driver) are preserved. Just be aware that any expletives you utter will be recorded as well. I'm also not wild about my conversations being recorded, and no one is going to want to hear me as I sing in the car. There's a reason that's where I do so. You might just want to disable audio recording. A fresh video clip is started automatically every minute (a length you can change to 2 or 3 minutes), so you won't have to wade through that much it you know what time something occurred. If you are using "minimum" recording history, only a few recordings are kept, so if something happens, you'll want to press the "Protect" button (wide button on the bottom edge of the unit, facing you) to keep that recording from being recycled. If you select "maximum" recording history (the default), recordings will be saved forever. I haven't filled the memory card yet, so I don't know what happens when that occurs. It's a really good idea to mark recordings as "protected" if you have any reason to want to keep them. Even formatting the memory card from the unit will not delete them. You can always UNprotect them, however. Formatting is the way to go, by the way, because otherwise, you'll need to set aside a long, long time, as they must be deleted one at a time, and it is a slow process. It may be possible to pop that little sucker out and into a computer, but I haven't bothered with that yet.. Did I mention that the memory card is NOT included? Get one. It's just a microSD card, so you can find one almost anywhere. Any time the unit is on, you can simply tap the screen to save a quick snapshot of that moment. Handy if you want to capture a license plate or cute bumper sticker.

Posted .Hello,
All of our cameras are tested between -20'C (-4F) to +45'C (113'F), although if the car temperature exceeds this you could potentially experience issues. We'd recommend removing the Dash Cam and placing in the glove compartment when the Dash Cam is not in use to prevent it being unnecessarily heated on the windscreen. When storing the Dash Cam for an extended time period, store within the following temperature range: from 0° to 25°C (from 32° to 77°F).
Under the mount is a heat sync, so this is the part of the camera that will get hottest. It's nothing to worry about, they're designed to cope with the heat they produce.
However excess heat can be caused by a failed or cracked SD card. Please ensure you're using a Nextbase SD card.
If you need any further help, please contact our Support Team directly at support@nextbase.com.

Great little dash cam
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the super simple, quick, easy setup of this dash cam. Out of the box, connected to my phone and installed in my car in a total of ten minutes. Once connected to power supply in the car it automatically turns on and off with the vehicle ignition. The sticky mount has great grip so make sure you get it in the right place on the first try! I loved that it came with the little tool to tuck the cord into my vehicle trim so that it’s not hanging loose and in the way constantly. The one downside to this is that you cannot do anything unless the phone and camera are connected, so to make any changes to settings or to review any recordings you have to turn on the car. I do have an external memory card that I could take out but I wish I’d just be able to make any changes or review the videos from inside my home. So far it’s been recording in one minute increments, so my hour commute to work results in at least 60 video clips. I don’t remember to check if this can be adjusted until I’m already settled inside the house, hence the reason I say it’s slightly inconvenient to have to be connected to the camera with the vehicle on. However, definitely not a deal breaker and a minor inconvenience that I can get used to. The picture and recording quality are phenomenal - everything is clear, crisp and detailed. I feel that, should I ever need any recordings for documentation purposes, the ones that this camera captures would be more than sufficient to use. The field of view is also beyond what I was expecting as I can see well beyond the field of view that the windshield provides. Overall I’m very happy with this dash cam and will be looking into purchasing the optional rear view camera that can be paired with it. Definitely would recommend to a friend!
