First off, I've been playing this series since the first day it came out for the Sega Genesis, when it was first known as NHLPA (or NHL 92), so I know what I'm talking about here. LOL. NHL 17 = Great game. Last year's game had game play issues (passing, AI was none responsive) as well as a lack of features. NHL 17 has a ton of features, the game play sliders are more in depth. The AI is smarter to play against and the customization is great. If your a fan of the NHL series, this is a must buy game!

Best Buy had a great price on this game. Its a lot of fun. I love hockey ad I love this game. A must buy for hockey fans.

I am a hockey fan, and as such, I get excited at the prospect of new EA NHL releases. As compared to last year's game, not a whole lot has changed. It's presentation is nearly identical, which is not a bad thing, seeing as it was great in last year's game. The graphics and physics are still very good, and even the player models are accurate and it is great to see my favorite players accurately represented. The gameplay is still very smooth and the skill stick is better than ever. I also appreciate the addition of a new difficulty setting: semi-pro. For many people, the lapse between rookie and pro settings was viewed as too steep. This new setting seems to solve that issue well. The World Cup of Hockey mode is interesting and pretty well executed. Be A Pro mode is largely the same as well, retaining its depth and customization from last year's game. Overall, for any hockey fan or for an interested newcomer, NHL 17 is a great game to pick up and play!

Its been a few years since had the annual NHL release (14 was last one)...and not sure when they changed things...but the gameplay in 2017 is highly realistic. Took me few games to realize that i cant just bodycheck and one time my way through games vs AI ....there is strategies that must be employed. I love it!! Very realistic (at least on pro level) Have played a few vs games online and 3 of the 4 lagged, which was kind of frustrating, but fun experience none the less.

EA always delivers, this is no exception. Waited a year to get a deal on it, as video games are way overpriced. Can't wait to get this year's with the new Vegas team on it.

I like hockey but don’t necessarily love it but when this was available for about $11, I thought what the heck! Glad I did because this game rules! Fun to play with friends!

NHL 17's new physics engine adds more realism to the game play. It has even more tune-able play settings so you can play from fast paced arcade to fairly realistic. The Be a Pro mode is still weak in several areas but is better than in previous versions. It still is too easy except on the hardest settings with sliders turned down. Then the game AI semi-cheats just like the Madden series. Franchise mode is more in depth if you want it with full owner control. You can fully customize these setting so you can manage as little or a much as you would like. Simming is above average but the coding is quite random unlike real life games. Moving a team and creating new uniforms and such is fun a few times. There is no option for expansion teams which is a let-down but I am sure they held that out to make you buy next year’s version. The free monthly roster updates are nice if you want to keep an up to date roster to use. The save game feature needs a lot of work. You CAN NOT name your saves. That is a huge mistake on EA's part in my opinion. Also the number of saves is very limited if you like playing multiple teams. All in all a fun game to play with good repeat-ability.

I am a huge fan of the EA Sports NHL franchise, which sometimes sets me up for disappointment. That wasn't the case this year. Hits are bigger, moves are more satisfying and the risk-reward to both aspects is awesome. The game really makes you play realistically, which is a huge improvement of the more arcade-style shootouts from the past.

Being from THE State of Hockey I enjoy this game quite a bit. I don't do the online play and probably don't get into it as much as others but I really like the game play. The movements and controls are very intuitive and the game play is very fluid. I just wish I didn't have to look at Vladimir Tarasenko every time I load the game!!!

Fun game. The “Be a Pro” is fun. Can’t really do too much from the previous years game, but the graphics seem ok.

Great game for hockey lovers. I purchase every other year, and this year did not disappoint!

NHL 17 is a great game! It's well rounded and beats out NHL 16 by a mile. Gameplay has been vastly improved, and many game modes added back into the game. Love it! Now EA needs to put more work towards the series like they do madden and I'll be 100% happy! Worth the upgrade from 16!

We had 2015 and 2017 is that and so much more. TOTALLY WORTH IT!!!!

Solid improvements over last year (except the Be A Pro mode). Much more physically realistic, and the team customization (in general and after relocation in franchise mode) is really in depth and fun. Franchise mode is what really makes this a good game. The optional "Owner Mode" lets you customize everything from food prices to promotional giveaways. Control over everything, including relocation if your owner agrees to it (you can set it so that they automatically agree if you want). Be a Pro takes a step back for realism, but forward for speed of play. No more full seasons in Juniors. You start at the memorial cup instead. No chance to really improve your player before being drafted anymore. Not a deal-breaker, but a bit of a bummer nonetheless. Overall, really solid game. Haven't stopped playing since I bought it.

Arguably the best sports game, even over Madden, this is the complete package. Online play is intense, the controls perfect, and the visuals pull you right in. You will not see a better looking or playing sports game this year. Period.

NHL 17 is incredible! The customization process has been revamped so creating your own character is so much fun!

NHL 17 builds strongly upon what made NHL 16 a great game, but improves on the areas 16 lacked. Plenty of fun, and deep game modes makes for a game that keeps you entertained for a long time.

NHL 17 holds true to the past. EA Sports has been putting out EXCELLENT hockey games since 1994 and they get better and more realistic every year. This year's game is top notch!
