Nick Cave has always been a mercurial artist and the latest album is no exception. The end of a trilogy of albums that began with Push the Sky Away, and Skeleton Tree Ghosteen finds Cave and his bad seeds diving deep into ambient soundscapes that they touched upon on Skeleton Tree. One of the most gifted songwriters of the English language Cave delivers a tour de force of lyric writing that is both raw and poignant, deeply sad and achingly triumphant. An album for anyone whose ever lost anyone. An epic high point from an artist whose had a career of them. Stunning.
