Smoothness during playback is not as smooth as the previous DVR, and the 30 second buffer is not as sharp as it should be but it gets the job done. The spotlight feature works great with this DVR. Also keep in mind that you must purchase your own (HDD) hard drive, it doesn’t come with one pre-installed.

Nighowls tech support is an absolute nightmare to deal with. What good is a tech rep who knows less than me? I could have given them lessons. If i'm having problems it's because the system is horrendous & reaching someone who knows next to nothing is a waste of money and time. And now they refuse to refund anything. $350 completely gone and wasted. Take my advise and scroll on, do not buy this product.
