I hate the app. It’s so outdated and takes a while for it to pull up. The motion sensors are too sensitive no matter what we do. So we can’t get alerted when someone is at the door or driveway because it picks up the wind blowing. So we get an alert every 5 seconds for one of the cameras. I’ve turned the sensitivity down and changed the “area”. The 4K picture is great but that’s the only upside. Playback is slow. Sometimes a camera will quit working and I have to unplug it for a while and plug it back in. Not worth $800. Also, wish we could use it with Alexa but they aren’t compatible.

I really tried to like this system but I’m exhausted with messing with it. Pick a different system! This one is riddled with bugs. Be prepared to spend 2-3 hours with tech support each time it messes up which is quite often. System will not stay up. Cameras will lock up and not be recording even when there is a picture from them on the screen. App is slow. There is no alert to tell you there is a problem with the system so you have to check it daily to make sure it is working. Otherwise you may go days without knowing it is not recording. System requires reset/reboot every few days to stay working. Defeats the purpose of having a surveillance system where you are able to go back in time and access footage. I have had the system for about 6 months trying different things and hoping it would eventually start working correctly. I would return and get refund if it was still within return window.

Being my 3rd system im very familiar with night owl so this sucks. You'll need a 4k monitor which makes the cameras look stunning. The console is very flawed. Sent mine to them and waiting for a replacement. Issues as of now not all cameras show up. Cannot access the main menu. When main menu shows up it boots you out.

Night Owl does a poor job of putting model# s on their boxes. It qas in 6 point fint at the bottom of the box. It was not at the Superstition Springs store when I got there so I had to drive to the San Tan store to pick it up. When I got it home we realized it was not as described. Best Buy accepted the return and the return posted on my credit card account two days later.

Posted .Hi Boris. It looks are though you are having an issue with viewing. Have you contacted Night Owl's technical support team for assistance? The cameras are absolutely capable of reading a license plate number. But that capability depends on various factors such as how and where the cameras are installed, how far from the license plate the cameras are, the camera angle, how fast the object is moving, the resolution settings of the cameras...etc. There is no misrepresentation and we are sorry to hear you feel there is.
