Customers are saying

Customers are pleased with the camera's quality, ease of use, and affordable price. Many also appreciate its lightweight design and the inclusion of Bluetooth connectivity. While some found the size a bit large and auto focus speed could be improved, the positive feedback on image quality and user-friendliness outweighs these minor drawbacks. The additional lenses are a welcome feature for many users.

This is my first DSLR camera ever. I've read tons of reviews for many different cameras from all types of brands and I could never decide. For some reason I decided to get the Nikon D3400, something told me it was the right choice and I couldn't be happier. It is an excellent machine for somebody with little to no experience. Easy to use, easy to understand, great results. I will definitely have fun for years until I decide to maybe upgrade.

Great photos and easy to use. Still learning about the camera, but the auto setting is a no brainer. Down side of this package is that the larger lens is not VR (vibration reduction). The difference in the VR lens and the non VR lens is $50 if you were to purchase it separately. I would have rather paid the extra $50 for the 2 lens combo package, and had the better lens, but this is not an option.

Since I have only had limited use I can not go into great detail however so far the camera has taken amazing photos. And can be gradually used from a simple point and shoot style to professional level settings.great for any student of photography.

I wanted to purchase a nice camera for a Long time and compared many cameras before making the purchase. I couldn’t be happier, for a beginner like myself this is the best camera to have in my opinion. It takes great quality pictures and I couldn’t be happier with the results. I am still exploring it, and I find new features all the time. The value was right on point. I can’t forget to mention Nikons will take pictures at night that Cannons can’t. One last thing, I love my red color.

Even though I am a beginner (and old) it irritates me with this camera being labeled "beginner." It has a lot of features which allows one to be as creative as wished. There is a lot to learn but Nikon offers good support and the camera itself enables one to learn. And if you do not want or need to manipulate manual settings, there are numerous auto settings from which to choose. The camera makes beautiful pics! The only negative would be the snapbridge feature. It seems testy and I didn't understand it will only transfer 2 megapixel jpeg images so if you shoot raw with any image up to the camera's capacity of 24 megapixel, all snapbridge is useful for is a quick thumbnail to review. Overall, great camera with lots of "bells & whistles" at a great price point!

I have enjoyed my camera so far. Bought it to snap photos of my daughters concert and was not disappoint. Still getting use to the camera as I am upgrading from the Point and Shoot types but so far really enjoying it.

Had a Nikon D40 for a long time and was having trouble taking pictures of my kids varsity football games from the stands. Needed a much faster camera and better zoom. Very happy with this purchase. Camera was super easy to set up and I am thrilled with the quality of the pictures. Still learning all the functions and hoping to keep up a great experience with Nikon.

This is a great camera for people who want to start out in photography but don’t want to waste too much money. Plus it comes with 2 lenses already. It has Bluetooth built in so you can transfer the photos to your phone right away with SnapBridge which is really convenient. I’ve never had another camera before so I’d have to say this one is pretty cool & I’ve loved the photos I’ve taken with it. The battery lasts about 6-8 hours of using it the whole time so that’s pretty decent as well.

My niece is a video productions major at SCAD. Se uses the camera to build a portfolio of stills and motion pictures. It's very easy to use and you gain a great deal from the interchangeable lenses.

Got the D3400 as a Christmas gift in 2016 when I first got into photography. I completely love the kit and Nikons easy to use system. This camera is great for beginners who have never used a DSLR.

I knew I wanted to buy a camera but I wasn’t too sure how to choose the right one for me. With so many different options and features available (that I have no idea how to use) the more I looked at the more confused I became. I went into Best Buy in Folsom CA and probably played with every camera there. I was lost. A young man came over and let me ask him a ton of questions and we finally decided that for me, a beginner who like the ability to point and shoot, but likes to be able to change settings to custom settings (I.e. manual focus, filters, modes) that it was the one for me. I absolutely love it! Now I just need to go back in and purchase a computer carrying case.

Great camera. Can't complain. Nit - I see a lot of comments mourning the lack of VR in the 70-300mm lens, but for $100, I honestly don't think it's that bad (granted I am just a beginner)

Great camera. The Bluetooth works great I had to call Nikon and get instructions on how to update a new version of snapbridge. People are lazy the Wi-Fi is unimportant. You can download with USB to your computer don't be so lazy. The Bluetooth is convenient because you can send pictures immediately after taking them! They go immediately to your phone and then you can send them instead of waiting for wifi to send the pictures. If you are having problems with your Bluetooth just contact Nikon customer support, which is excellent and as I stated depending on your phone they're updated versions of snapbridge that you have to have before you can use it with your phone and Camera.
