Inside the box you’ll find the fryer itself, fully assembled, and some documentation. The fryer itself is attractive with a matte black plastic exterior and chrome accents. The display is large and easy to read and is set behind the membrane style control panel. The fryer overall is large (16.5”W x 14”D x 13”H) but is surprisingly lightweight. The power cord measures 33” and is permanently attached. Getting started is super easy as the control panel is clearly marked and logically laid out: Power on the fryer, select which basket you’re working with, select a cooking method, set your time and temp, and away you go. Beyond basic air frying, there are a myriad of other cooking modes, including Bake, Roast and Dehydrate. The ‘Smart Finish’ mode helps to make sure differing dishes in the separate baskets finish at the same time. And the Smart Thermometer, which is nicely nested in a compartment on the side of the fryer, actively monitors the internal temperature of your dish and finishes the cooking process when your desired temperature is reached. The unit is surprisingly quiet while cooking and results are in-line with other modern air fryers. The dual 5qt baskets have a non-stick coating on both the walls and the removable crisper tray, making clean-up a cinch. About the only issue I noted was that, when a basket is removed during operation, the unit does not stop or pause cooking; it just keeps plugging away. So, if you go to stir your food mid-cycle, be sure to press the Start/Pause key. The Ninja Foodi 6-in-1 XL Air Fryer is an excellent multi-purpose appliance that will likely supplant several other countertop cookers in your kitchen.

Too expensive for not having a deep single basket to cook an entire chicken instead of using individual dual baskets

The Smart XL 2-basket air fryer is such an amazing design. I can’t tell you how many times that I’ve had to jockey things between air fryer and oven to keep warm when trying to cook 2 different types of food. Well no longer! This baby can do that with ease. What I really like is the smart finish feature that will magically have both sides finish at the same time even when they must cook at different temperatures and or time. Also, if you do have the same food in both baskets/zones the match cook feature will have them both end at the same time. I also love the built-In thermometer which also has a convenient storage area on the side of the fryer to help prevent losing it. My wife always seems to have a challenge with cooking chicken so that it is done but not over-cooked and she absolutely loves this feature. We’ve cooked about every cut of chicken and by following the instructions on how to place the thermometer and setting the proper temperature it has been perfect every time! The non-stick baskets and crisper plates are super simple and a cinch to clean. The only down-side for us is that we switched over from an XXL size single basket air-fryer where we would cook large portions of things like French fries in a single batch where now since these baskets are narrower we have to fill both and shake frequently in order to evenly crisp them. The included documentation has several really tasty sounding recipes that take advantage of the dual cooking features. I have not had a chance to try any of them out yet but plan to soon.

It stopped working after 3 uses I was hoping it would be as good as the powerxl

Baskets are to small, food has to be stacked. Food has to be mixed around alot to get cooked.

Not happy, my cheap knock off brand worked better.

We love this Ninja Air Fryer. We needed a large one for my family of 5. The addition of a probe is awesome. Everything work as I expected. I enjoy the large capacity and it’s easy to clean.

I bought this as a Christmas present for my mother. And she is genuinely in love with it! Everyone seems to love using it and it works out really well. I would highly recommend, especially from Best buy.

The basket was very small, not ideal for a large family

I have been looking for one of these for such a long time and I am completely obsessed with it !! Such a game changer for dinner !!! Love it!!

The Ninja Foodi Smart XL is a great addition to our kitchen, we previously had another brand with just a temp dial and timer. We had to watch it like a hawk or we would overcook our food and had to toss it. With the new Foodi those days are gone, I really like being able to cook a meat and a side dish and have them finish at the same time, and using the included thermometer our food is done to the precise temp we need from rare to well done. Smart Finish is accomplished by tweaking your settings in zone 1 then choose zone two settings for let say Asparagus. Then click smart finish and the guess work is done for you. Its great that one item won’t be done 15 minutes before the other, I hate reheating. Have two items with same settings? Just set up one and use the match cook selection and both sides cook same. Don’t forget to shake baskets during cook to ensure even cook. If you only need one side (defaults to left side but you can choose either) it will work as an air fryer. All power will be used in a single side cook to speed the cook up. My Daughters are always using the Air Fryer for Fries, Tater tots or mini corn dogs. The Foodi came through big time and cooked them like a fast-food place, no more burnt corndogs or fries that can chip a tooth. Don’t expect every cook to be perfect but this will help you get closer to it. It will take some time to learn what the capabilities are, then it will be a piece of cake from there on out. The exterior of the unit was never hot to the touch, even after 20 minutes of frying. But of course, the trays will be hot when you open them. The unit comes with 2 baskets (nonstick) and a crisper tray for items you want crispy. The 10 QT is deep enough for a whole chicken or pork loin, and recipes/ ideas/ charts for cook times. The Foodi is very versatile, it can Air fry, Bake, Roast, Air Broil, reheat and dehydrate. (Can’t wait to try this for fruits and Jerky) Clean up is very easy, the nonstick trays are a plus and are easily wiped clean in hot soapy water. I would recommend this to family and friends, and especially for those who want good food fast when they come home from work and are tired or don’t want to heat up there kitchen with a hot stove. I shouldn't have waited so long to replace the old one, This new one fits our needs perfectly. I would recommend this to my hungry family and friends.

Air fryers have sort of become the new "go to" kitchen gadget. They seem to be popular and affordable and everyone seems to have one these days. I had an older Ninja version that I loved. It was revolutionary for my wife and I in being able to cook our favorite foods quickly, and healthier than filling a pan with oil and cooking in fat or risking burns to your skin. I picked up this new version because it has larger "baskets" to hold more food, and has a food thermometer which is amazing. This new version continues to impress, and is a welcome addition. The things I continue to love about this air fryer and other Ninja food air fryers, is the ability to "dual cook" whatever you have going in both baskets. You can either "match cook" to have both baskets have the same timer so things are exactly evenly cooked, or you can set it so one basket starts, then the other basket starts on its own maybe a few minutes later (depending on what you are making) in order for both foods to finish at the exact same time. This is brilliant technology. The "new new" feature with this that I didn't have on my older Ninja Air Fryer is the built in thermometer. I'm not sure how much roasting of chickens or steak or whatever large meat sources that require a thermometer to check the "doneness" I will actually do in the future, but it's a welcome addition. Usually I would just use a grill outside for chicken but in the winter I'm sure I can be persuaded to use this more often than the stove since cleanup is alot easier with this air fryer. I used a 5 lb chicken breast just for this feature and it works as advertised. Set the "cook" setting to roast, insert the thermometer, and that sides bucket will turn off automatically when it reaches the required temperature. You choose "chicken" in the settings before you start cooking so it knows the temperature it's looking for. Also what makes these great is the included crisper plates at the bottom of the baskets. They obviously are used to fry the foods and make them crispy and delicious, but they also pop out and make cleanup easy and simple. Much easier than having to clean a grill or the inside of an oven. Overall as usual with Ninja products this comes very much recommended. Can't go wrong with this air fryer.

The Ninja Foodi XL 2-Basket Air Fryer is a game changer. This unit is packed with features, and solves many problems with the smaller, 1 basket air fryers. Unboxing is quick and easy, everything is assembled, you just need to tear off some protective film. The Foodi is well built and has a sleek and modern design. While this is the XL model, it’s doesn’t feel too intrusive on the counter, depending on where you place it. Reading the included Quick Start Guide gets you a nice overview of all the features this unit has. From the ability to air fry, bake, roast, air broil, re-heat, and even dehydrate, this unit seems to have it all! Getting started, cleaning the baskets was a breeze, the baskets pull out, and the tray inside each basket comes out for easy cleaning. I had no issues cooking up all sorts of fun things inside this unit over the last week. I sampled everything from the common frozen snack section (pizza rolls, chicken nuggets, mozzarella sticks, etc), to some chicken breast and vegetables, French fries, and even used it to cook up some steak bites. The biggest advantage of this unit is simply the fact that you have dual baskets. You can roast or cook 2 different things, like chicken and vegetables, and have them both come out perfectly done, at the same time. You don’t have to use your oven, you don’t have to let your meat or vegetables to get cold waiting, you get an easy to cook meal at the touch of a button. Simply throw your contents in, set your cook settings, and come back when your food is ready to eat. The flexibility of this unit makes it extremely versatile. It includes a meat probe, a dehydrate function, and numerous ways to utilize the dual basket functionality. It’s quick and easy to cook a meal, and clean up is a snap. If you’re looking for that next kitchen gadget to help cook meals a little easier and a little faster, you need to grab one of these and try it out for yourself. This unit is a huge step up from your little basic air fryer, so regardless if you have experience air frying, or you’re looking to join the revolution, you won’t be disappointed.

Perfect upgrade for our family. We had an air fryer that was one of the "shelf" styles instead of this basket style and now that it had worn out we chose this model as our upgrade/replacement. It's great. Holds alot of food and I love the thermometer. Family of 5 and this is just the right match. Much easier to clean than our previous model.

If you’re in the market for an air fryer and you normally need to cook more than one type of food with it at the same time, well this ninja air fryer is your best bet, I think. I think it’s great that you can set the two baskets to different temperatures and times and go about whatever else you need to do without much thought. There is also the nifty feature where you can sync up both baskets so they will finish at the same time even if they have different overall times. The unit will wait to start the one that takes less time and start it when needed to make sure both sides finish at the same time. It’s a clever trick. But I think the real star of the show with this air fryer though is the temperature probe cooking that it allows you to do. First off it comes with the probe they don’t try to make it a feature that you have to spend extra to use so that’s nice. Secondly, it’s super easy to use just plug it in put the probe in the thickets part of the meat you’re cooking or whatever it is your temping out, press the probe button and chose your mode and doneness or temperature to cook to. That’s it press start and your good to go. This thing makes amazing steaks to medium rare, and for stuff like chicken I don’t have to think about checking the temp when cooking the probe is already in there while it runs. Compared to some other air fryers size this unit is not that much larger than a simple one basket one it’s a little wider than most but it does not stick out very far on the counter once you have it in place, so overall it fits in well with other countertop appliances and even stays out of the way a little more.
