Customers regard Xenoblade Chronicles 3D's gameplay, story, and music as significant strengths, praising the depth and hours of enjoyment they provide. However, the small screen size on the 3DS is a recurring concern, impacting the overall experience for some players. While the battle system and 3D effects are also appreciated, some users found the controls and camera to require adjustment. The game's compatibility is limited to the New 3DS models, a factor potential buyers should consider.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3D is more or less a straight-up port of the original Wii version. While the New Nintendo 3DS struggles to muster the same quality of graphics that a home console like the Wii can, the gameplay and production values of the game itself are still impressive enough to make the experience as a whole worth recommending. The soundtrack is top-notch and the story is quite intriguing, but what I enjoyed the most was the combat system -- which I found more engaging and exciting than the average turn-based RPG.

Xenoblade Chronicles is a great JRPG with a long story to dive into. Only on "New" Nintendo 3ds. Will not work on regular 3ds xl or 3ds.

Xenoblade Chronicles is a huge game and a very faithful remake of the original Wii game.
The scenery is gorgeous and the music is so good.
The characters are so full of life and all unique. And the story is full of twists that makes me want to keep playing.
It makes the quests nice and easy with most of them being finished when you get the items you need, and you automatically get the bonuses. And with quick travel the other side of the Bionis is just a few seconds away,
This game is well worth every cent.

This game is a remake of the Wii classic title. And in all honesty, it is very well done. The fact that the New 3DS can even run a Wii title is very impressive. The games visuals suffered a minor downgrade to run on the 3DS though. Furthermore, the game on the Wii fells very expansive and large. The game on the 3DS feels...smaller due to having a tiny screen. However this is still the essentially the same game as it was for Wii, and worth buying if you have not experienced the game.

The game is still fantastic but it definitely loses some of its grandness on the smaller screen. Story is still great and so is gameplay BUT if you have a chance to play the Wii version go with that.

While I was a little disappointed with this purchase, I can't deny the game is fantastic in terms of scale. There are several large environments to explore with lots to find. The side quests are relentless (they throw a lot at you) and boring just like the main story which tries to engage, but I didn't really get into. The characters are meh; doable, but every time they speak, I cringe at their grating accents, although the voice acting itself isn't bad. The combat is actually a little tactical, as each character had a role to fill and certain attacks do more damage or have certain effects when they hit monsters at certain positions. While I didn't particular enjoy it, it is a great RPG.

I never got the chance to play the original US release of this game on Wii, but I was always curious about it. With the 3DS release, I new that I had to take a chance. That was a great decision. This game has excellent graphics and very talented British voice acting. The battle system takes some getting used to, but once I got the hang of it, I was hooked. I will definitely spend the next several weeks joining in the adventure. Highly recommended.

Like many others, I missed out on Xenoblade Chronicles when it was initially launched on the Wii. So when I heard of the re-release on the New Nintendo 3DS, I was stoked.
The game feels right at home on the mobile console. I have read others' complaints about resolution and draw distance, but have had no issues seeing enemies or objectives, nor small items in the various terrain environments.
I gave it 4 out of 5 stars mainly due to the tutorial not being as clear as it could be, and also for the underutilization of the N3DS' lower screen. Still, for any RPG fan it is not a title that should be missed, especially if you weren't able to experience it the first time around.

I have had an eye on this title since it was released on the Wii a few years ago and I finally picked it up on the New 3DS and I have to say I was blown away by how great this game was. I've been a big RPG guy since the late 90s and I consider this the best RPG I've played in the past 15 or so years. A super long game (about 40 hours in), fantastic story, and great gameplay mechanics is a formula for a game that is worth a play.

One of the best JPRGs of the decade now on your New 3DS.
As an owner of the Wii version I can tell you that the game hasn't lost its magic.
It's a gigantic world that requires hundreds of hours if you want to finish it completely.
From top to bottom and in agreement with many online websites, these are the best things this game has to offer -->
•Huge world
•Engaging combat
•Tons of side-quests
•100+ hour game
•Great story and characters
•Excellent pacing
If any criticism, I would say that the textures are muddier than on the Wii version. And the fact that it is missing the Japanese Audio. Dual audio would have been nice

Just wow, that this massive title can be played now on the go on the New3ds. Graphics are good and it plays really well. This is such a fun game, same as the Wii Version with its cut scenes. The battle mechanic can be confusing sometimes but you can always pull up the individual tutorials to understand the mechanics. Good story too. Love the characters. This game plays only on the recently released New3DS.

Xenoblades Chronicles 3DS is a port of a cult favorite of 2010: Xenoblades Chronicles. This is a JRPG so be prepared to spend WEEKS playing this (this is a good thing). It starts a little slow, but quickly ramps up once you get the Monado, the red sword that you see on the cover. If I go any further I would be spoiling though; changing gears here, my only complaint is with the camera. I recommend setting it on fast as soon as possible, and to also be careful to those who are motion sick. I cant even count the number of times I got noxious from the camera. Overall, this game is great fun if you are into JRPGS.

This is a great first game for the New Nintendo 3DS, it's a port of a Wii game that only had a limited run at the end of the console's cycle so I never got to play it and was excited to have the opportunity to finally play it. It's a great RPG with a great story, and the world is very large, lots to explore, lots of monsters to battle, quests to complete, and easily 100 hours of gameplay.

Xenoblade Chronicles squeaked in at the end of the Wii's cycle, along with The Last Story. And it appeared that they were saving the best for last! XC is a great combination of fun, challenging gameplay and an amazing story reminiscent of the classic PSX RPG Xenogears (to which XC is a spiritual successor). Do yourself a favor and pick this up now before it becomes a collector's item.

The story is great and battle system is fun. I like being able to kite around enemies a bit while fighting. Tons of sidequests to keep you preoccupied, but they don't affect the main story too much; so if you are a not a completionist, you're not forced to endure it. There are warp points, so you don't have to walk the entire way past vast amounts of land.
Cons:
Can't switch between characters during battle. Sometimes I am annoyed with the English voices for the characters, but not always.
Definitely great if you're looking for a single player game to immerse yourself in.

This is one of the few RPGs I've played over the years that has been able to consistently hold my attention over an extended period of time. Too many other games become a slog midway through. Great story, great combat, great environments, and plenty to do. The graphics are slightly disappointing and can get pretty bad at times, but this game is still solid otherwise.

The overall story of this game is very engaging, and it is a very long game (that's a good thing). The combat system is fun and overall it's a must buy. The characters can be a bit bland from time to time, but not enough to take away from the experience. I haven't had a handheld system since the game boy color so it's crazy to see these graphics in my hands.

This is one of the best games in the history of RPGs. The story in this game is simply amazing. This game took the best of Western RPGs and the best of JRPGs and made a masterpiece out of both game styles. The map in this game is very expansive and the monsters are all very interesting to fight.
This game is a must buy, the story is unmatched.

Simply put, this is an amazing game. The story, the characters, and the world are all great. This will easily keep you entertained for 100+ hours.
The only flaw is the small screen (compared to say a 40-50 inch TV) and somewhat poor graphics. Personally though I found myself being able to over look these things with ease.
