Excellent cell phone holder. I've been looking for something that wasn't a vent holder because most of them at minimum will block a portion of the vent which I'm not a fan of. My car also has very few mounting locations due to the dash material and I didn't want a windshield mount. This was the perfect solution, the magnetic ball is compact which makes it perfect to stick anywhere and the adhesive is really strong. Holds the weight of my Note no problem and hasn't failed due to the high AZ heat yet. There's only two changes I would like to see, the first would be an extra plate. The kit only includes one and I haven't searched yet to see if they sell the plates independently but there are other brand plates I could use if worse comes to worst. Secondly, I would like the magnetic ball to be just a little taller. But overall very satisfied with this product.

I have used a few different phone vent mounts so I decided to try this one since it was completely different. This mount is very compact and hardly noticeable once it's installed. Installation with the 3M adhesive is simple enough, but once the based is set, it can't be moved. I couldn't mount the base where I initially wanted because I was afraid the top of the dash had too much texture, so I had to place it on an area on the front of the dash. The instructions suggest waiting 24hrs before use, but I tested it after 30 mins and it was very solid. There is a thin metallic disc that attaches to your phone with 3M adhesive and allows the phone to mount to the base, but since I have two phones that I use, I just slipped the disc (it's very thin) inside the case of the phone I'm using that day and it mounts to the base without any trouble. I was a little worried about the effects of the magnetic base on the phones, but so far I haven't seen any major problems, although if the display is on when I attach it to the mount, the screen on one of my phones will flicker for a split second and then come back on... a bit disconcerting, but again I haven't noticed any lasting problems. So far, neither of my phones have shifted from the position I put them in, and that's with the disc inside the case. Overall, I think this is a nice phone mount; it's very small and holds the phone firmly. The only con would be that it can't be moved without buying more adhesive strips.

I dove into this product seeking something slightly different (and more durable) than the long line of relatively cheap magnetic vent mounts I had become accustomed to (and accustomed to replacing too often). In cheap, I mean in both cost and quality. While I've stuck with that solution for a couple of years, the mounts have inevitably fallen apart, and have proven to be somewhat problematic here in the Northeast in the winter time. While the vent mount is in a fairly convenient place, it gets cold in the winter, and I have to shut that vent off as it inevitably overheats my phone (sometimes to the point that I have to hold it out the window in sub-zero winds while driving to cool it down). I really hate cup-holder mounts, and generally anything that 'sticks' to the top of the dash comes off sooner than later, and is all too often bulky, ugly or just plain bad in terms of screen position and accessibility (looking at you, the mount with the tension mounted plastic grippers with foam-like padding inside!). I saw this Nite-Ize model, and while I was really familiar with their caribiners and associated gizmos and doodads, I hadn't known they designed phone mounts. This one lcame at the design a little differently, and looked pretty cool to boot. It came in a pretty compact package with three distinct pieces- a 'steelie' steel magnetic ball with a small profile footed mount, another loose steel magnetic socket piece, and a thin metal disk to be attached to the back of the phone or phone case. The footed mount has an adhesive sticker on the bottom which fastens to the dash directly, and I stuck that to the area I felt offered the most flexibility (for vertical and horizontal mounting). The loose socket piece I then attached at the angle that would work best, and the magnet just locked right in. I could move it and rotate it with some pressure, but that magnetic connection was strong! After getting it as close as I felt possible to where I needed it, and after fastening the thin disc to the back of my phone case, the phone mounted easy with a strong click as the magnets took hold. The phone is locked in at the angle I wanted. When I want to spin it, or angle it differently, it is a simple push, pull or turn- it adjusts when I move it, but it's never loose enough to move on its own accord, or with the car jostling around. I felt like the inhibitor for the whole contraption would be the small footprint of the mount, and the matching small footprint the sticker actually had on the dash itself, especially with the magnets feeling so strong and industrial-like compared to the magnets available on cheaper/lesser mounts. Not to worry, the thing is going nowhere- there isn't a hint of it coming up or the adhesive loosening. I was really impressed with how sturdy it is once you get is where you need it to be. I really like how this device reimagined the phone mount with simple aesthetics, strong materials and a reasonable price from a company known for 'tweaking' common gadgets to get higher/better performance. It's a bit more expensive than some of the cheaper vent or dash mounts you can get, but I came from that mindset, it is well worth the small difference in cost, and I won't go back to cheap after trying this new design.

I had many phone mounts but this is so far the strongest ever. This mount installs onto your preferred location by 3M tape which kind of makes it permanent and not movable. Then there is a two magnet plates that one attaches to the mount itself (using magnetic force) and other by 3M tape to back of your phone. Installation is simple as it could be, and it will stay in place regardless of weather or other conditions (such as bumpy roads). I like the fact that it could be installed on any spot or surface you choose to, with no limitations. This cellphone holder performed really well even though I barely had anything to stick it to. Please bear in mind that you need a slanted surface as opposed to a 90 degree edge. I have almost a 90 edge see photos. One hack that I have is to not stick the metal plate on my phone or on my protector. I slid it between my protector and my phone so I can optimize placement. Other than that. It held my Pixel 3XL. Drove around and it did not fall. Easy to adjust. Minimal design compared to my old holder. I would recommend this product.

You can easily attach and detach your phone, and when mounted you can rotate your phone in all directions. High friction materials are used to hold the phone in the desired position. Installing it takes about a minute, it mounts just about anywhere and is barely noticeable when nothing is attached. It's simple, unobtrusive, and it works. What more can you ask?

The Nite Ize Steelie 360° Magnetic Mount has a lot of substance and feels extremely well built. The metal plate is thin enough to fit inside your phone case and will attach to the magnetic socket no matter which way you stick it on. The connection between the socket and car mount is extremely strong and holds my iPhone 8+ without issue. If your car is not equipped with CarPlay or Android Auto, I'd highly recommend something like this to keep your phone conveniently in front of you while you drive!

It’s great so it’s a 5 star but the major issue is the mounting part and the adhesive is either weak or it rips off from the mounting part, but if you get one that works it’s great for hands free talking or even just watching movies while you’re sitting and eating in your vehicle it is a hard fixture though so you can’t move it around unless you have extra adhesive disks to replace the old one. But I loved it as a supervisor because I could see who’s calling and answer without taking my eyes completely off the road and talk while driving(it’s a radio phone so I can’t use Bluetooth to talk).

Not might first Steelie purchase. Bought this to use for the campers camera. Although I am not using it for that in the end, I am using for my phone. Not an ideal location on dashboard (uneven and not a smooth surface) but it is sticking solid!

So glad I bought this! Seriously the BEST car mount ever! If you don’t like big/bulky mounts, this is perfect for you. The magnet is super strong even with a thicker case on and so far it seems very durable. If you’re thinking about purchasing, DO IT. Trust me.

Very strong magnet. However the pad and adhesive didn't last that long and after a few months of having this it the adhesive either melted or failed to stick. Resticking it the next time the pad just ripped in half.

I bought this almost 11 months ago and it’s still chillen in my car working brand new, recommended this to literally everyone I know and am glad I bought this. Highly recommend this to everyone, best phone mount ive ever purchased.

This is one of the most durable and efficient phone holders, small and durable, I put on my dashboard, the glue already lasted over a year, I tried other brands and models and this is by far the best, I have a big size phone (galaxy note) and the phone stays where I want it.
