Great Scooter with Some Software Quirks

I’m recommending this scooter, but with a big asterisk:
I owned the KQi3 Max before and loved that scooter except for the lack of suspension. I was excited when I saw that this new version looked like a successor with suspension added.
Scooter feels great overall. Sturdy, solid, and the suspension helps smooth out the bumps that the KQi3 Max couldn’t. The stem folds really quickly, making it easy to move around and carry up and down stairs. The disc brakes are good (almost too good). For a single motor scooter, this thing packs some power. Maybe a bit much, which leads me to the issues I had with this scooter.
The twist throttle is new. Older versions had a thumb throttle, and while they had their issues, I do prefer them over the twist throttle. This is especially troublesome with the high acceleration this scooter has. I ride motorcycles so I’m no stranger to twist throttles, but I still had a problem with holding this throttle at anything other than max. The result? A lot of getting thrown around at mid speed, very scary stuff, even from someone that’s ridden other scooters before. There is a solution to this: By updating the firmware, you can adjust the acceleration in the app for dynamic mode. This is great except it took me connecting to the scooter a dozen times over several days before it randomly finally allowed me to adjust the acceleration as advertised.
With the scooter now adjusted to my liking, it’s great! Still not the biggest fan of the twist throttle but I can live with it now that the acceleration is toned down.
So that’s it, great scooter, and you get a lot for your money, but you will need to adjust it to suit you with the app, and that is where you might have trouble. If they can fix the app/software issues then I would give this 5 stars and would wholeheartedly recommend this as a mid-tier scooter.

Wonderful e scooter! Comfy suspension and pretty fast. Very stable and well built. Perfect for commute and great range. Highly recommended for beginners and enthusiasts. This has a twist throttle so it’s very different than most throttles you see on other branded e scooters.

It works well overall and has a ton of power for heavier people, I replaced an older version because I weigh 230lbs and the older version wouldn’t pull me up hills, this one does it with ease. My biggest complaint is the throttle is super touchy, it has Bluetooth settings where you can change that but everytime I do that it defaults back to its factory settings everytime I use it, seems to be a software issue

This is a great scooter. It is fast and the battery is good. I have not tested the range of this thing yet but going up hill is easy. It does not take long to charge. The suspension works great.

This is my first real foray into a modern electric scooter. I used to have a "mid level" design in the early 2000's, but this one is a complete step-up in regards to top speed (24mph), range (up to 37 miles), charging speed (5-6 hours), as well as modern technology integrated into the whole package. The entire experience has been pretty much straight forward, but its not without quirks.
ASSEMBLY:
Assembly of the scooter is straight forward. I'd say it comes 95% assembled, but you'll have to align the handle bar and torque down the 6 hex screws after removing it from the large box. The scooter itself weighs around 50 pounds, so you may want an extra person to help you lift it upon initial setup. After the handle bar is torqued down via 6 screws on 3 sides, you're going to want to charge it as it comes with about 10-20% of initial charge. I waited around 4-6 hours before really diving into it.
FIRST RIDE:
After having everything charged and ready to go, I took it outside and really started to get acquainted to the 300x. The Scooter itself comes with a default kick start of around 3 km/h (1.8mph) so you're not going to exactly be able to just twist the throttle and go. This is possible, but it requires customization on the phone app which I'll go into later.
Default mode for the scooter is "E-SAVE" which seems to have an 8-9mph limit. This is where my first struggle came to be since the instructions and "changing modes" aren't exactly explained well, but I was able to eventually figure it out after installing the phone app.
SECOND RIDE:
After installing the phone app, you can get out of E-SAVE mode just by tapping the power center button once.. Not too bad.. Was able to cruise up to its rated top speed of 24mph which surprised me because I gained a little bit of weight and hover around 190 pounds at 6 foot. Breaking was a little scratchy, but the rotors are new and likely need to be broken in. Not too bad.
ISSUES:
If I have to complain about anything, it's how fast the torque/speed curve is by default. YOU REALLY NEED TO BE CAREFULL AND UNDERSTAND THE LIMITS OF THIS SCOOTER. Again.. I'm not super light, but this will pull you and catch you off guard. IE: The wheel will literally fly up if you crank the throttle a little too much without your full weight on top. I assume this is due to the shift from a thumb to twist design from previous version. Maybe an OTA update can smooth out the curve, but I'm sure this will be the biggest general complaint of the 300X when more reviews start to barrel in.
The acceleration can be customized via the app in "Dynamic mode", but your top speed may not reach 24MPH. I personally leave my scooter in default mode and switch between E-SAVE and "unlocked". Scooter defaults to E-SAVE (9MPH limit) upon starting from "off".
The second issue I have is that the front turning radius feels a bit narrow, but I'll give NIU the benefit of the doubt as I haven't really rode an e-scooter in years!
OTHER FEATURES/APP:
There's a pedestrian mode which limits the speed further from E-SAVE. This will govern the scooter to around 3-6MPH. I'll be honest.. I never really used this, but it is a feature. (5 taps on power)
-The front light can also be configured to turn on and off from the power button via app (2 taps on power)
-Turn signals and break light are straight forward.. No need to configure. double tap to turn off.
-The Phone app is pretty typical.. I can't really fault it as everything works for me on iOS side of things. Was able to update the first OTA update before driving the Scooter.
-Customization is possible as I mentioned earlier, but it bottlenecks the scooter in other ways.
Only thing useful here would be turning off "kick to start".. Which allows the scooter to send power to the wheels without a "push". Not sure if this sucks more battery though.. that's something I need to test long term.
OVERALL:
I'd say this is a solid "mid" range offering. There are scooters that are much faster, but they're in a completely different ballpark in regards to price and practicality. I generally like what NIU has done here with the 300x, especially since the larger battery allows it to outclass other competitive scooters in pure range purposes. There are quirks, but it also gives the scooter character.
Hopefully future OTA updates improve the acceleration/torque curve. Solid 4/5 from me.

I am looking for electric scooter for my son who is 14 years old. It's perfect for local commute within range nearly 35 to 40 miles, also going 20 to 23 miles. Both off-road and on-road going smoothly because of suspension. He like doing adventures with this bike.

After riding it a couple of times I’ve fallen in love! Have to ride it a certain way to unlock top speed. When top speed kicks in better hold on! However. Learned from 1rst test drive a full face helmet is a must! Ended up doing a nose dive first time while learning how to ride it. Bicycle half hemet protected my head but not my nose which is healing now from the scars. Realized gloves & knee & elbow pads are essential too since i scarred them up too. Gloves too! Have upgraded my safety gear since then. Now ride without any worries! This thing is so fun!

The NIU KQi 300X is a solid electric scooter with great performance. It feels very well built, rides smooth, and has plenty of power. The acceleration is strong, and reaching close to the advertised top speed feels easy on flat roads. The long range is a big plus—I don’t have to worry about charging it constantly.
I really like the stability and braking. It feels safe and controlled, even at higher speeds, and folding it up is quick and convenient. The design looks clean and premium, and the app integration is a nice bonus.
Cons:
It’s a bit on the heavier side, so carrying it for long periods isn’t ideal. Also, real-world range depends a lot on speed and rider weight, so don’t always expect the full advertised miles.
Overall:
A powerful, comfortable, and reliable scooter that’s great for commuting or longer rides. Not the lightest, but the performance and build quality make up for it.

I picked up the NIU KQi 300X mainly for fun and casual riding, and it has been an impressive step up from my NIU KQi2. The acceleration is noticeably quicker, making it feel more responsive and exciting to ride, especially when taking off from a stop.
Build quality is another big improvement. The frame feels significantly more solid and stable, which adds a lot of confidence at higher speeds and on rougher pavement. The suspension and larger tires make rides smoother and more comfortable even on uneven surfaces.
Battery life has been great for recreational use, and I never feel limited during longer rides. The display is clear, the controls are intuitive, and folding it up for storage is quick and easy.
Overall, the KQi 300X feels like a more powerful and refined scooter while still offering excellent value. If you want a fun, well-built scooter that clearly outperforms the KQi2 and similar entry-level models, this is a great choice.

Very fun to ride scooter. Upgraded from KQi 2 pro and well worth the money. Use it for commuting to school and I’m able to go max speed and have plenty of range to commute there/back twice in a day, 3 times if i charge for just a little bit. Front suspension helps with minor bumps (though dual suspension would be better), and turn signals have proven to keep me safe when crossing streets. The twist throttle has a learning curve, especially being used to a thumb throttle. Can be difficult to feather the throttle for low speeds. Overall would definitely recommend

After riding this for about alittle over a month. Its pretty nice buttons for signal lights. They could done better on the headlights. I have to use a external flashlight 8000 lumen to see the road at night. But its a bit more power than the 3 max and pro. Im pretty heavy but it still rides great. I wish they can give us a firmware update to make it go a little more top speed. It seems like it wants to go over 24mph because its not maxing out on motor.
