Truly a beast, love having a powerhouse gpu to enable 4K gaming. DLSS has come a long way, allowing high fidelity even at performance or ultra performance settings. And frame gen might be a bit of a gimmick, but honestly I can crank it up to X3 or X4 in games like Cyberpunk and Borderlands 4 with minimal artifacting. Oh, and I got Borderlands 4 as a pack-in, which is pretty fun because I was thinking of picking it up anyway.
Obviously the price is obnoxious, but if you can afford this, it's a great card and good value compared to the 4090 and 5090.

Massive upgrade

Granted, I used previously a slightly different card (RTX A4000) which is about 4 years old, but the improvements on paper did not prepare me for the massive gains in games that the RTX 5080 offers (over a still fairly pricey RTX card).
I am using a physical renderer (NextLimit Maxwell 5), which unfortunately ceased development before the Blackwell architecture was introduced. Hence, the render engine doesn't "recognize" the RTX 5080 despite being much more powerful than the older Ampere architecture. So the A4000 stayed for that application and as a dedicated PhysX processor.
The RTX 5080 is a massive upgrade for me, which also meant a 850W ATX 3.1 power supply was needed as the RTX 5080 draws over twice the power, but also consolidates three (!) PCI-E power cables via included adapter, or--better yet--a power supply with an 6x12V (ATX3.1) plug and cable. The latter cleans the interior up significantly!
For some applications the gain is mild, but for games it's significant. For instance, Doom - Dark Ages runs smoothly at 120 fps in maximum settings on a 4K monitor!!! A sight to be experienced.
The included ARC Raiders wasn't easy to redeem. It turns out that for that process Firefox is not a supported browser and I had to set Edge as the default as the redemption process automatically launches the default browser with no option to use a different one instead. Well, a lot of effort for an online multiplayer game that's beautiful but I prefer story-driven single player games. Hence, it being included wasn't much of a draw for me.
I am glad I waited for the price to come back to MSRP. (Sure, a discount would have been great, but that's an illusion for 2025.)

Absolute monster—needs a bigger appetite!

The NVIDIA 5080 is basically the GPU equivalent of a bodybuilder who bench presses cars and sprints at the speed of light… but refuses to eat more than 16GB of RAM. Why? Who knows. Maybe it’s on a strict VRAM diet. Maybe it’s just modest. Either way, this thing demolishes games, crushes renders, and makes your PC look like it joined the Avengers.
But yeah—16GB of VRAM in 2025? That’s like showing up to a buffet with a teaspoon. Still, for everything else it does, you’ll forgive it… until you boot up a 12K texture mod and hear your GPU whisper, “I wasn’t built for this.”
Verdict: Absolute monster—just wish it had a bigger appetite. I really wanted the 5090 founders edition but could not get my hands on one.....

So it’s a graphics and if you’re reading this you already know all the details and capabilities of this card.
You may not be aware of how easy it is to install and how helpful BesrBuy is at taking care of that for you. Their total tech membership (sold separately) took care of the labor of installing it, updating drivers, making sure everything works as it should.
You already know what the 5080 is capable of - it’s a bit expensive but if it’s something your passionate about, it’s 100% worth it.

stock performance of the 5080 is only about 10-15% better when compared to the 4080 super. however, where the 5080, or at least my specific unit, suprisingly shines is in its overclock/undervolt potential. with the use of msi afterburner, i was able to tweak the 5080 to perform about 15% better without much more wattage. i was never able to do this with my 4080 super. the overclock/undervolt brought my total 5080’s performance to be about 25-30% better than my 4080 super and essentially on-par with my friend’s 4090 while consuming 80-100 watts less. i initially decided to replace my 4080 super with the 5080 just because of the founders edition look and to try out multi-frame generation since i got the 5080 fe for msrp anyway but i ended up really enjoying the meaningful performance and efficiency gains. i’d recommend the 5080 if available at msrp.

Card is much smaller than my old 6950xt. Really like the look of the card, very sleek and modern without crazy rgb. Runs great so far, easy install with no driver issues switching from AMD. Running Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth at 4k maxxed settings. DLAA looks sooo much better than TAA. Im glad youtubers "hate" this card so much and I was able to get it without issue!

If Nvidia waited for manufacturing to be able to mass produce chips with sub-4nm nodes. They’d still be selling 40 series cards for the next 2-4 years. Given that, we cant expect 30-40% increases. But a 20% over the 4080 Super when OCing, at the same cost as a 4080 super is a deal. My card arrived Wednesday, but im out of town. Heading home tomorrow to slap it in my PC and run benchmarks!

I got lucky and was able to order the RTX 5080 on the day of its release at MSRP. For that price, I think it's pretty good for me as I had had my eye on the RTX 4080 Super for awhile and never pulled the trigger.
The design and build of the Founder's Edition card is great. It's great to see a 2-slot design where most of the other brands are pushing monstrosities that take 3 or even 4 slots. The card feels solid and well-constructed and that part at least makes it feel worthy of its price tag. The power connector is recessed in the card at an angle, which helps with narrower cases, though reaching and getting the connector securely in there is a little difficult.
The performance isn't the most exciting, especially compared to the previous generation, but with a small and easily achievable overclock the gap does widen a bit. I can max out almost all but the most demanding path-tracing games at 4K using DLSS Quality and be well into the 100's in FPS, though I was disappointed to see I had to lower my settings in Indiana Jones, even at DLSS Performance, due to VRAM limitations. It's concerning to see games hitting that limit right at the beginning of this generation and I wish Nvidia had bumped the VRAM to 24GB instead.
Overall I'm personally happy with the RTX 5080, though part of me wishes I had just upgraded a year earlier instead. I would not pay more than $1000 for any 5080 card - I think the value at that price is probably questionable for some anyway and more than that you're better off trying to find an MSRP (or close to MSRP) 5070 Ti for higher-end performance.

Excellent card, runs cool and came well packed. I was surprised at how small it was. The power connector was a little rough to put in - had to be a little forceful - but no issues seen so far.

Let me preface this by saying my use case is mostly gaming at 4k. Haven’t had any issues with this card since getting it, I would recommend doing a clean install of the nvidia drivers if you are upgrading. Other than that it’s been rock solid with good temps. Now if you aren’t playing the newest games using dlss and frame gen there are definitely better options but with the way things are going these days getting a card that can make the most of those settings might be the only way to get smooth frame rates.

I’m so glad I didn’t try reselling this thing. As soon as I got it, I was like I’m keeping it and I’m glad I did. My games look amazing now. I don’t think it’s worth getting partner cards. This card runs super cool performers, gray, and over clocks like a beast no need to spend more on the partner cards.

First real graphics card I've owned in a very long time. I'm a 1440P gamer and this thing devoured all AAA titles on ultra, even when pushing some to 4K despite not being optimized for that. Great value at MSRP.

This remains the best value, and also, the best looking card this update cycle. Reference cards can be a question mark each year but NVIDIA applied some design improvements this time around with a "Double Flow Through" design. Card runs quiet and cool. There's lighting on the X on top of the card and the GeFORCE RTX lettering at the front. Driver performance has been pretty good post launch. The latest gimmick is Multi Frame Generation; say what you will about it, but it is fun to experiment with. The card fits inside my H6 Flow beautifully.
The card does come with a 12VHPWR adapter. I recommend buying PSUs with ATX 3.1 standard for the longer pins.

Super confused by the reviews about all that aside. This thing pumps everything I throw at it, never owned one. This good before just the box itself with the video card is heavier than any gaming laptop. I've ever owned, and this thing is a beast
