Great streamer, with top notch upscaler
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great little package if you have a 4k TV, like to stream movies, or use the built in plex media server to watch your collection of movies with an excellent on the fly 4K upscaling that is well worth the price of this little box. Remote works well and lights up when you use it in a dark room, so no trouble finding the buttons. To USB slots for your own media to stream elsewhere or watch at home on plex. Standard def streams look like HD when the AI upscaling function is turned on

Solved our streaming problems.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have long used Roku boxes and been reasonably happy with them, but when we purchased a TV with Dolby Vision wanted something that could support DV content (none of the Roku line does). After a lot of research it was clear this is the best performer of mainstream consumer streaming products, but also the most expensive by a significant margin. So we decided to give the Tivo Stream 4K a try (given the low price and the feature set was worth a shot) and had nothing but trouble with it - its HDMI signal seemed funky and had issues passing through our home theater system from AVR to TV (didn't work well the other way), randomly rebooted, DV was always on regardless of original content format, etc. At that point, realized it was worth paying to just get something that worked, and this has easily been the best streamer we've had. Every single thing works perfectly from the get-go, no random reboots or losing connections, displays everything in its native format, easy to set up and make modifications, etc. Oh, and also the most reliable Chromecast we've had to boot (every other one will sometimes not want to connect or will drop a signal partway through or whatever, this one has worked flawlessly 100% of the time). Oh, and FWIW I dig the remote shape. Looks weird but sits nicely in your hand and has a good heft to it. Not quite as good as the classic Tivo remote (which remains the gold standard for design) but very nice. This to me was a good case of "you get what you pay for." If you *don't* have a need for Dolby Vision, it'd still be hard to argue against a Roku, which can be significantly cheaper and works about 95% as well. But little things like the quicker response time, faster loading of apps/shows, etc., still make this one better if you're willing to pay a little more. Since we do almost all our viewing via streaming services, it's been worth it to us to spend a little more to get better performance out of something we use every day.

Compact; Big Performance
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was smaller than i expected and its performance is snappy; much faster than my smart TV. I like the feel of the remote and buttons. The automatic lighting on the remote is a cool feature. The option to setup a Plex server is also nice.

Amazing device must have for android TV users.
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product is amazing, even two years later it has no competition. Nvidia continues to make strides in upscaling and adding new features and applications. Roku, or android TV on devices I have tried up to 2020 do not even compete with the speed of this device. Also the Dolby support for the TV's that have it is amazing. I was also able to install regular google store and run xbox game pass and play full blown games on this with a network cable.

A lot for a little
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shield TV Pro has so much going for it, for such a low cost of entry. Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision, 4K 60, and runs a Plex Server? All for under $200? Pretty sweet! Oh, it also does AI enhancement on lower resolution content, such as 1080p and lower, or streaming content, like YouTube. It can be hit or miss, but when it hits, it can pretty good, in terms of adding detail. If you need a fast all in one media solution for your home theater, I strongly recommend you give this a look.

Worth the Money ??
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nvidia Shield Android TV Pro.. I actually have had the unit a little over 4 weeks. It is performing very satisfactorily. I have added a 256 GB flash drive so I could record TV Shows.. EASY-PEASY.. Was extremely simple to do. Using it as a plex server.. again, very simple to do.. Quality of picture & sound when playing .. excellent. Only reason I am not strongly recommending the unit, is the price. 200 dollars - When I compare the Shield to the Firestick 4K Pro.. at 55 Dollars, I question if it is worth the additional Money.. For me the answer was yes.

A bit pricy but works well
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros - Fast menu and navigation - Quite a lot of settings to play around with (compared with other android boxes) - Remote control feels well done and not clunky - No complaints so far with the following apps (YoutubeTV, Prime, Netflix and Plex . . . . . . with the exception of audio lag with Prime at times) Cons - Price and availability. You can get other streaming boxes for a lot less money but the Shield PRO feels well built and works like a charm with no glitches . . . . SO FAR

Really good. Better than Roku
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Short version, I love it. Everything works, it’s extremely snappy. For those looking at this vs the regular “tube” shaped version, you get a 1gb Ethernet port vs 100mb on the tube, and USB ports which can be used for external hard drives for things like a Plex server. I have a 5GB external drive hooked up and it works great. The only issue is HBO Max is kinda slow/wonky but that is the same on both versions of the shield.

Awesome in 2026
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Set up was easy, I stream 4k from my PC to TV via wifi in the same house. Feedback on the Bluetooth being weak seems to be exaggerated, I use an Xbox series X controller with no issues.

Awesome devices!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Shield has been awesome, the amount of games you get for free is insane. Graphics are amazing and the Tablo that would not work with Chromecast (without feezing) works incredibly well on the Shield. Only issue I have is the remote, I have had it shut off twice for some unknown reason. The only option to fix is to reset it, unplug the shield, then plug it back in and wait.

Emulation is Great
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had the 2017 pro version which I sold so decided to upgrade to the latest model. I will say that the 4k upscaling is a nice addition, other than that I don't really see a big difference in performance from the previous generation. I do love the new remote that accepts AAA batteries. Gaming is also a blast on this device, emulation works perfect and you can use xbox one controllers. Will most likely get one when they go on sale again.

Media Center
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought because my smart TV was limited to a 100 mbps connection. This has a gig commection speed, so the picture looks a lot better (no stair stepping). The only problem right now is that once in awhile the picture goes black once or twice in a day. I havent determined the cause. Otherwise, the device does what I want it to and it includes dolby vision and dolby atmos in addition to HDR.

My go-to streaming box
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Nvidia Shield is my go-to streaming box. It supports all modern video and audio codecs, has excellent upscaling, and runs Android TV which is amazing. Plus you can host Plex on it! It's also super tiny and the remote is easy-to-use and has sufficient buttons to make viewing easy.

Amazing Streaming Device (3rd one purchased)
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I now own 3 of these, one for each main room, this device is worth the money. Especially if you like to Game Stream (Steam Link) from PC to big screen w/ controller. The ease of use is amazing, video quality is superb! 4k w/ HDR and Atmos sound is flawless! Price is a little steep for what it is offering, but that is what happens when the competition is horrible in the Android world.
