This is a must have game for your Switch. It’s an old school turned based rpg with a modern day twist. It’s a beautiful game with many different stories, and its fun and addicting to play. I haven’t experienced an old school rpg like this in a long time, so happy with Square-Enix right now.

This game attempts to use the modern features of Unreal Engine 4, and marries them with 2D sprites like those found in Super Nintendo era RPGs. The result is a love lettter to classic JRPGs with a unique visual style, amazing soundtrack, and challenging, nuanced gameplay.

The game itself is wonderful RPG, with great care and artistry behind the graphics and music and some great gameplay. The collector's edition is just something to behold. Awesome packaging with a nice pop-up book and a mini-soundtrack make this very much a must-have!

There is a lot to like about this game. Likable characters, modern retro graphics, excellent battle system. Some people may not like that the 8 character stories do not really interact. It's really 8 separate stories in 1 RPG package.

A beautiful callback to the Golden Era of JRPGS, particlarly the SNES era. Brilliant writing, a gorgeous soundtrack, and some fine voice acting paired with an engaging combat system make this one of Switch's best exclusive titles.

This is a very enjoyable old school-looking RPG with nice strategic twists on the turn-based combat. The CE is a nice package, probably a little overpriced for what it includes, but no regrets on having bought it from my end.

This game uses modern gameplay mechanics and mixes it with 90s SNES JRPG nostalgia. Throw in excellent “pop-up book” visuals and an outstanding soundtrack, and this becomes a must-own for Switch owners. Highly recommended!

This is the best JRPG on the switch so far. Graphics, gameplay and music are outstanding. The voice acting and story are good but not great. There's a free demo of this so there's no reason not to at least give it a try

The visual style of this game as well as the gameplay and story really sell me on it. I am a fan of old school RPGs and this is the perfect blend of new school tech and story with the gameplay of older games.

Octopath Traveler is an absolute love-letter to fans of JRPGs from the SNES era in the 90s. The classic 2D sprites combined with the 2.5D style environments is beautiful. The characters are enjoyable, with players likely to connect to at least one of them and their unique stories. The combat is kind of a unique combination between JRPGs of old and different types of attacks (Fire/Ice/Sword/Axe etc) in an almost-Pokémon strengths & weaknesses style, adding a necessary layer to combat compared to what we were used to in the 90s. The Wayfarer's Edition comes with some awesome collectibles, and I'm glad that I jumped on it the day that the game came out.

I really love this game. If you loved Chrono Trigger or Final Fantasy on SNES you will love this. The graphics are really new not just 2d and the battle system left me never wanting to run from a battle. A+

I wasn't sure what to expect from the first new RPG series from Square in quite a while, but this Switch exclusive was worth the wait! Fun battles, cool story and graphic style, I'm really enjoying it!

This is classic JRPG nostalgia, when the game was barely introduced with a trailer, honestly it did not seem good at all, then when the first demo launched, I was immediately blown away by such amazing game mechanics, completely old school JRPG to its glory, nice turn based RPG, and it let you use two of the main characters, then second demo came up before launch, and two more characters were available, with the option to transfer your game data to the full game once bought, many people complain about the story, but the game in general is amazing, there will always be people that like it, and people that don't, but if you are in for a great JRPG experience look no further, you won't be disappointed.

The collector edition is beautiful. I love all the items that this edition came with, especially the pop up book! The game itself has a good story and gameplay, especially for old school rpg fans

Loving Octopath Traveler. Great throwback RPG with a solid battle system and a semi-disjoint but still well-done story. The CE is out of this world with the pop-up artwork and sound selections.

Octopath Traveler is a wonderful old school inspired JRPG. It has really fun combat and 8 interesting but separate stories. The main characters in the game don't really interact that much, but everything else about the game, the combat, the exploration, the world, the path actions, are done very well. The Wayfarer's Edition comes with a map poster, a soundtrack selection (which in my opinion makes the edition worth it), a coin replica of the currency in the game, and a pop up book. I recommend the game highly, but if you want to spend the extra 40 bucks to get those extras will depend on how much you like little collectibles and soundtrack CDs.

This is easily my new favorite game on my switch. The old-school graphics and story are awesome and the music is simply incredible. Great for JRPG fans and a must buy for the Switch.

Octopath Traveler is a return to form for fans of the original Square JRPGs of the past. Amazing sprite based graphics and a beautiful musical score, this is a modern day classic!

I absolutely adore this game. It reminds me of Final Fantasy VI in all the best ways. I can only hope that they eventually make some sort of sequel or continue the series somehow.

a great game. the best traditional jrpg I've playes these years. the content, music, story and everything, I just like it so much. icing on the cake, I can play it anywhere I go.
