I started with the Gear VR headset that required my phone and had just one controller. While it too was untethered, the Quest offers far more. Just pick it up and power on - no need to mount my phone, nor worry about the occasional overheating. The integrated cameras on the Quest provide excellent tracking and provide for a truly entertaining and realistic VR environment.

Considering that we’re still in the early stages of VR development, Oculus has done a great job! Love the games and I’m a huge fan of BeatSaber and FitXR as quarantine has made these two as my light cardio workouts. The Quest specifically is standalone and wireless, so this is a great plus side for me personally. The only mildly negative thing is the weight of the front of the headset. I almost always struggle to balance it, especially while playing BeatSaber. I tried so many third party accessories and found out tucking the straps under a high up ponytail works!

Plenty of storage and new game's being added daily. Light weight and easy to use. Even got my 10 year old daughter to try it and couldn't get her to put it down easily, until the batteries needed recharging. A useful tool for learning and fun.

The Oculus Quest is great for people new to Vr, you don’t need an expensive setup to play. To setup the vr headset, all you need is a phone, or a computer, and then you’re all set! The headset has inside tracking so you don’t have to put cameras around the room. The headset also has a guardian system in place, you place one of your controllers on the ground to set the floor level, then with the controller, you draw your boundary. The games on the Oculus Quest are mostly 20-25$ but there are 5$ games but not too many. Overall, this is a good choice in my opinion.

I'd been waiting for years for such a high quality cable-free VR headset and finally the Oculus Quest became available. Hard to find at first as they were continually sold out! That alone should tell you something about the popularity of the Quest. My advice. Stop what you are doing and purchase the Quest. The freedom of movement without cables is outstanding! There are many great simulations available and more are being released monthly. I've taken it upon myself to show friends and family the Quest. Without exception, they are all stunned by the experience and ask for more! Personally, I enjoy the relaxing fishing sims and the exceptional workout I get from shooting and dodging incoming laser projectiles. I've lost 4 pounds already! Seriously though, this is a great product that will go down in history with the introduction of personal computers, smart phones, 3D printers, and now wireless freedom VR. Buy the Quest! It's an outstanding product and truly a game changer!

Everything it's advertised to be. Easy. Convenient. Quality VR experience. Not as good as PCVR but miles ahead of mobile. PROS: Convenience. Comfort. Ease-of-use. Good early content CONS: Audio could be better, depending on the circumstances even full volume will not drown out loud surroundings due to the way they have implemented speakers into the headband. (Of course headphones-earbuds are an option, but that starts to MINUS the all in one, inclusive nature of the device) Battery life could be better but I understand the trade off in weight and comfort. If you are not already heavy in to VR and are looking for the best way to see what all the fuss is about, then this product has been tailored especially for you. No computer, no cables, no expensive graphic cards. Just pop it on and go. For what it is, it's the best at what it is. But to be fair, it's kind of in a class by itself at the present time. Worth the investment if you are even remotely interested in what VR has to offer.

Love my quest. The first time with VR and I had some gift cards. The VR experience is great. I watch movies and play a lot of beat sabers. It has been great in quarantine with kids in the house. We can still go to the Zoo and travel the world in our living room. very easy to use and the Quest is only getting better.

Where do I begin! My only experience with VR so far has been the Samsung Gear VR, Google Cardboard (which are pretty much neutered versions of VR), and playing with my brothers PSVR. On that I only played Beat Saber, which was pretty much going to be a selling point for me and this device (along with Vader Immortal) . I did watch a few reviews of early demo units that were up on YouTube, which only got me more excited to get this item. Well it arrived, and like a child on Christmas morning, I tore into it, and set it up, which leads me to this The device is EASY to set up for starters. It pairs up with the Oculus app that can be downloaded from either the Google Play store or the Apple app store. This is also where you set up your account, enter payment information, things like that. This device is somewhat front heavy, but that is expected considering all of the internals are in the face. It essentially runs on the same Snapdragon processor that powered the Samsung s8, and while it is no slouch, there are some graphical trade offs, opposed to something like the high end PC connected Rift line. You can search anywhere online to see what games/titles are available, but I purchased Vader, Beat Saber (which sadly is a toned down version of the one found on other high end VR headsets, graphically speaking, does NOT support custom songs, like the pc connected ones, and strangely ,costs a tad more. Something else I noticed, titles on this device are MORE then the same titles on other versions of Oculus. Seems the developers might be price gouging those who purchased this because its new) , and a few other odds and ends as far as apps. Regardless of the front weight, I LOVE this thing. I love the portability, I love the tracking on the controllers, and I love the ease of setting up the guardian "barriers" and how well they work. I will mention those later. Vader Immortal, which while short coming in at 45 min or so at a cost of 9.99, was something that literally blew me away. It has some replay value in the section called Vaders Dojo, and the main story maybe a 2-3 time play thru, otherwise I guess thats up to the player. Beat Saber, while a faithful port, is, as I mentioned above, a toned down version. The song list is close to the same as the PSVR, and custom songs are not supported (yet). After a while of playing, the device does get rather warm, but nothing that's intolerable and is not felt by the user while wearing. The padding around the face is comfortable, with little to no light bleed, but if someone wants more, Oculus does offer an upgrade at a cost. Underneath the face there are 2 switches, one that is used for volume, and the other adjusts the lenses, for a more comfortable experience. There is also a 3.5mm headphone jack for earbuds or headphones, along with 2 speakers that are built in, if you so desire to use those, but this does NOT support Bluetooth devices. The guardian system helps with not walking into things or bumping into things. There are 4 cameras on the face, that are essentially pass thru cameras, that allow you to see your surroundings, and set up the barriers. Once you are in a virtual world or game, move your arms around and you will see a grid of sorts, which means you are coming close to going past the barriers you set up. It also changes colors, with green meaning you are ok, and red meaning you are very close. Once you break said barrier, the front cameras kick in, and allow you to see exactly where you are, and what you are going to bump into. Pull back, and it instantly switches back to game mode. AWESOME feature! Negatives: - Battery life is said to be around 2- 2 1/2 hours, depending on what you are doing. I actually did purchase a battery pack ( Mycharge Razormax 8000mAh with USB-C ports) from Best Buy today for 32.99. I would recommend something like this. Small enough to keep in your pocket, and will extend playtime by a few hours. -Controllers run on AA batteries, so what brand you use is up to you. The top of the controller handle slides off to allow easy battery replacement, but this also presents a problem. In a demo of Sports Scramble, on many occasions, while swinging my racket, the cover would partially come off. It seems Oculus/Facebook didn't feel the need to either use stronger magnets, or place the battery door on the bottom. -Because it runs on the Snapdragon 835 SoC, people who are used to awesome visuals on things like the Rift, might be a little disappointed. The apps have to be optimized for mobile (which is what the Snapdragon processor is made for). -Cost. At 399 (64GB) and 499 (128GB), this thing is essentially as much as a PS4 Pro or XBox. I can easily see this as a deal breaker for those who are on the fence -Streaming. I was able to stream what I was playing to my TV with my Gen3 Chromecase, but it seemed like sound was a hit or miss. It started off fine at first, but became choppy. Also not EVERY game supports streaming. Vader does, Beat Saber does NOT. I did try streaming this to my iPhone X but that seemed horrendous. Now for the pros: -PORTABILITY! NO WIRES! -1600x1440 resolution per eye. This is on par with the GO, and better then the Rift S, but has a slightly lower refresh rate. Personally I have not noticed any flickering or any motion sickness inducing issues. - Controllers. They just feel natural, and the tracking is pretty dang good as well. Just do not hide a hand behind your back otherwise it will show up in your FoV just floating there in some random location. -Streaming. If you have a Chromecast Ultra or Gen 3, you are able to steam most things to your tv. Sure there is a slight delay, but it still looks good regardless (sound seems to be hit or miss though at times). -VADER IMMORTAL! -YouTube VR. Its free and you can watch clips and things on the headset, in 360 degree VR! -Did I mention, its wire free, unless you want to connect a spare battery pack to it, but you have free range of motion! Sure there are some trade-offs here and there, opposed to a wired headset, but for someone with the money to spend, or a new comer to VR, I would HIGHLY recommend this. The pros far outweigh the cons and I think this could be the start of something special for the VR community! On a sidenote, since the official Oculus case has been sold out since launch, if you are looking for something to carry this beast in, look into the LowePro Tahoe BP 130. I picked that up from Best Buy also, and it fits the headset, controllers, battery pack, spare AA batteries, charging wires, and still has room to spare (49.99)

This is a lot of fun and definitely a VR upgrade from prior products. I bought it for my son but have used it quite a bit. The games have been very good, although the roller coaster one made me a little dizzy and slightly nauseous at first. Very realistic. The battery life could be better, but other than that, very well designed.

Bought for 13 yr-old stuck at home. Easy setup and works with iPad as advertised. You don't need a computer. Games aren't that expensive and she can play some of them online with her friends. Headset is sturdy and well made. Hand controllers need a bit of care and they do use up batteries. Dad may need dramamine . . .

I had a Vive on day 1... this is easier to use and a higher quality experience. The limited game selection isn't a huge issue and should be resolved by a November 2019 update if you want to tether to a high end PC. Great way to add VR to your gaming and make it easier to share with friends since you can just pick it up and go.

61 year old ex-gamer who gave up on video games about 20 years ago because they became boring and to be honest, overly complicated. I've been waiting for user friendly VR since then. I stumbled upon the Quest and read all the reviews. I bought it from B.B. figuring I could easly return it if I didn't like it. Well it far exceeded all my expectations. It has brought back the memories and feelings of my first Atari 2600, Amiga computer, 3DO and the likes, but the awesomeness is multiplied by 10. When they say you are inside the video game, well they really mean it. You ARE freakin inside the video game! Look at the trailer for Space Pirate Trainer. My favorite game BTW. That is the best VR game trailer and captures the emersion and perspective very well. Most games look deceptively lame when viewing in 2D. Like Super Hot. Almost didn't buy it because of the looks in 2D. But it is a great game. So what I'm saying is just buy the thing. You won't regret it. You can always return it but you won't. I'll bet you nobody is returning theirs. That should say a lot. Don't wait because you won't even be able to buy one of these by Christmas.

I was skeptical at first as to the performance of a wireless VR system that didn’t require external sensors. I was surprised at how well this system performs! This is truly a system you can take with you on vacation or for sharing with your friends. I understand you can connect to a TV via chromecast although I haven’t tried it yet.

This is by far the best VR experience you’ll have. It’s chord free and has the capability of transporting you into another dimension. The graphics are good and the app library is full of content. Did I mention it’s chord free? No longer will you have to trip over wires or have to have a computer to play. A+

I had the original, wired Oculus Rift. I really liked it but it was somewhat an ordeal to get "suited up" to play VR with the wires. This wireless system is so easy to get up and running and also a blast to bring over to friends and family. And for the PC-required games, tethered gaming works just fine.

The Quest is an absolutely amazing little device. It's incredible how portable and convenient it is to be able to play full VR games literally anywhere. The main thing holding it back is still the thing holding all VR back: a lack of worthwhile games. While there are definitely some good ones there (and I certainly don't regret my purchase) right now the hardware is definitely more impressive than the game library. With the upcoming release of hand tracking and Oculus Link, however, we will be getting two VERY compelling features. Overall the I think the Quest is the best VR purchase you can make right now, but if you're looking for something like a game console, I would spend the $400 on a traditional console (Xbox, PS4, Switch). At this price you get a really amazing piece of impressive tech for your money, and as a VR enthusiast it's great. But if you just want to play a ton of games, VR still just isn't there yet. If you've ever used VR or even if you haven't you'll definitely be impressed but don't expect to hop in and have an overwhelming amount of worthwhile experiences to choose from.

It's amazing being able to play games wirelessly with the quest. The tracking on my PSVR is a bit better than the tracking on the quest, but YMMV depending on your own personal setup, the lighting in your home, etc. That said, the portability and the ability to sideload applications onto the Quest makes it a game changer. It's an absolute blast to use, easy to set up, and WAY more conducive to showing off to friends and family and getting skeptical "VR? That's weird. No thanks" folks changing their minds and hooked!
