While most people are happy with the photos from their smartphone, I still like to have a dedicated camera, especially when outdoors, around water, wind and sand. I have a 3 year old Oly Tough Camera and was generally happy with it but several key areas were lacking - no wide angle lens setting, poor battery life and very slow GPS readings. With several snow skiing trips on the calendar, i decided to look into replacing the Oly. I looked at several competing models from Fuji and Nikon and a few different Oly models. The TG-4 offered a much wider angle lens than I had and an updated GPS system. Knowing the importance of fast glass, I ponied up the extra dough for the f/2 lens on this model. I quickly ordered 3 extra batteries as I really like to GPS tag my photos but also know what a drag they can be on the battery. In usage, I skied 7 days over the Christmas holidays, storing the camera in an outside pocket on my backpack hip belt. The GPS locked in on coordinates faster than I ever expected and the first battery lasted 3 days, totally negating the need to carry multiple batteries. The images looked great (and I'm a regular DSLR shooter) and the video was good, albeit a little slow to lock in focus.

I bought the camera before going on a vacation first of September 2015 to Cozumel Mexico. The camera is beautiful. Simple to operate. Has great modes. Shoots raw and I loved it. I used it snorkeling, freediving to 35 feet. I had an underwater flashlight with me for extra light where and when it was dark. Amazing underwater picture. Simply amazing! Above water i saw a little bit of grain in Apature mode with high Iso but I'm sure I could have tweaked that. Was getting use to it. I took a risk as people said that the lens gets foggy when used underwater, not for me, not once! Also I spoke with Olympus prior to purchase and they said if it does get foggy due to temperature change, it will only last ten minutes max as camera will adjust and fog will dissipate. Never came down to it. This is my favorite point and shoot of all time! It also has AN AMAZING Macro mode!!!

The micro is my favorite on this camera. I have had it for over a year now and just adore it. The immensely small comes to life. I have taken great action shots of water falls and panoramas of rock sentiment on dried up river beds. Over all a great traveling camera that takes the fear of dropping it or getting it wet out of the way. It is easy to use and I recommend it for anyone. Cons: needs to come with a case or lens cover.

Bought this after an agonizing search to find the PERFECT underwater camera in my budget. Read lots of reviews and looked at sample pictures for many models. This had the best technical and performance reviews. After taking it on a Caribbean cruise, I totally agree with all the 5 star reviews! I LOVED the easy operations (used the "selfie" scene mode quite a lot...very fun). The touch button to record was invaluable when under water. You didn't have to search through the menu or try to turn the dial while your mask was fogging up. The quality was OUTSTANDING when using the underwater settings. I was worried about the seals holding up underwater, but when you follow all the directions carefully, you should be fine.

Photos are to die for. Great for outdoor activities. First time I used it was the 4th of July at the beach. Somehow this ultra durable camera that can be dropped from many feet in the air and survive insane weather conditions couldn't handle the beach. The camera was scuffed up from a beach bag (containing lotions, a speaker, Gatorade bottles, and obviously some sand). Apparently the sand scuffed this camera which I find surprising seeing it's claiming to be durable. Besides this, the camera was fantastic for photos. Quickly turns on to snap shots. Awesome filters. The wifi is the best setting, snap photos and upload online in a matter of minutes.

Bought this camera for a Disney World and Disney Cruise vacation simply for action water pics, but ended up using this camera for over half of vacation pics and video. I love shooting with my Canon dslr, but it's great to have another light option that takes quality video and pics. Read reviews on other water cameras, but liked the 2.0 aperture that allowed for lowlight shooting as well. Loved the microscope mode for shooting food pics. Easy to transfer images to iPhone with built in wifi.

Bought the TG-4 for a trip to the BVI and the USVI - above water and below - AMAZING results. Could not be more satisfied. Searched for reviews and it came out Number 1. Most of all after owning several similar cameras, this one, I understand how it works. It is easy to learn the features, and I would recommend it to any and all that need a TOGUH camera that can produce.

Bought this camera to use on a recent trip to the beach. This camera handled the heat, water, and sand without a problem. I used this camera straight out of the box, no complicated setup was needed. great picture quality for the price and overall great compact camera to own and use.

I bought this camera as a replacement for an Olympus SW-720 and use it almost every weekend while kayak fishing in saltwater. The picture quality has been outstanding both in low light, early in the morning and the bright Florida sunlight. Video is also very good and I was able to capture my 7 year old grandsons first outing on his own kayak. So far the only negative has been the lens ring which lets you add a fisheye adapter or other accessories. Several times it has come loose and fallen off, luckily landing in my lap each time. Doesn't impact the seal so more of just an annoyance at this point

I took this camera on a river rafting trip. It did great for what I wanted it for...a camera that I didn't have to worry about getting wet and getting some good quality photos. I especially liked the macro feature. I would have liked a longer telephoto range, but for the money it did what I needed it for. The video is not the greatest. It did not seem to have an IS for the video option. If you are looking for a video camera...I would probably rate it at a 2-3 stars.

If you need a waterproof camera to at least 49 ft and want GPS and Raw files then this might be your only choice....and not a bad one at that. It took clear well exposed photos with the finished JPEG files looking quite good without messing with the raw files, but they are there if you want them (and enable them). Waterproof to 49.2 ft for up to 1 hour. Good enough for swimming and most snorkeling. An extra case is available for scuba diving. I did have some issues with the GPS not being accurate on occasion. When scuba diving off of a boat and taking a picture from the boat (not underwater) it showed I was on land after downloading the files. This didn't happen every time just some time and on others no GPS info at all. My pro DSLR with GPS has blinking lights that tell you if you have sat lock or not. It either works or it doesn't. And you know before hand. This camera doesn't have lights to warn you of a possible GPS malfunction. It is what it is....a consumer level camera that works pretty well for its price point....one that you don't have to worry about getting wet, dirty or dropping as much. Even pros want to take just pictures at times and this fits the bill. One more thing to consider is it does NOT have a Manual setting! Only pre-sets. Just so you know.

Camera is definitely worth the price. Not only is it useful to shoot beautiful videos and pictures underwater but the feature comes in handy when you want to capture a rainy party or scenery. Colors are very vibrant and great at capturing clear motion pictures! Best investment you will make if you love taking great everyday pictures.

I read tons of reviews before deciding to buy this camera. I have barely used it and I love it. The picture quality is amazing and there are so many different settings for a point and click. I have not used all of the different settings but I can't complain. I love the macro setting and can't wait to try the underwater settings. I read that some were less than impressed with the zoom quality without a lense but I can't say that it is completely awful (flamingo is zoomed in) butterfly is in macro. I gave it a 4 as I have barely scratched the surface with this camera but I am very impressed thus far.

Went to Greece with my teenage daughters for 20 days and took over 2900 pictures and videos including underwater. We have some amazing pictures which will be cherished for a lifetime. The auto focus started acting up near the end of the trip and we had to take some pictures 2 or 3 times to get a good shot.

Bought this camera for a trip to Jamaica. Pictures are what I would expect for a point and shoot camera. It was used for snorkeling in the ocean and while hiking up a river and we didn't have any problems with water leakage. Pictures turned out great. Only downside is that the panorama mode is essentially worthless as the stitching never really got it right. Other than that it is a great point and shoot camera that is plenty rugged enough for the adventurous types.

Great waterproof camera! Takes great pics even on a dark night without any real visible light this bad boy gave me some great shot I would've otherwise been without! The overall picture quality day/night or otherwise is not what I had hoped for. Nonetheless it lives up to its name! It's waterproof and TOUGH! I dropped it on a ceramic floor and no harm was done. If the image quality was better I would've given more stars. I can't enlarge any image due to the lack of quality. Even though I would've missed documenting great memories without it.

I purchased the TG4 for a trip to Hawaii, knowing there would be plenty of water involved. Great images both above and below water. The only issue I encountered was condensation inside the lens when I was in and out of the water.
