This receiver is awesome. Running our surround sound thru it was definitely worth it. I we also have built in ceiling speakers running thru it.

This receiver has been great. Just got a XBOX ONE X hooked up and streamed some ATMOS through Netflix. Connects to the kids bluetooth devices easily. Only issue is it gets a little confused when you try to pass audio through it on standby and then go back to playing the audio on the receiver. Has to do the ARC. Have had to turn tv off and on to get receiver to pick back up playing the audio. Probably just something I'm doing wrong.

Tons of surround decoders on this thing and advanced functionality (Bluetooth, music streaming and zone 2 capabilities) make this receiver well worth the price. This is the second one I've bought after my first was fried by lightning. Does have a bit of a footprint however and that's about my only minor gripe.

Easy to set up. Great sound. Switches between inputs automatically, unlike its Denon predecessor. I did not think the automatic equalizer on sound worked well. I am still thinking about it. The distances from speaker to listener were really strange and needed adjusting.

Lots of hdmi inputs, arc ,bt, plenty of watts to drive without clipping and clean. I like the setup feature where it measures the different speaker delays and crossovers. I like the it can do 4.2 for those of us without a dedicated center channel.

I made this purchase after doing several extensive reviews sessions. I was upgrading from a sound bar to a Home Theater for the first time and was kind of overwhelmed by all my options and the huge gulf in price ranges . I have not used all the features on this yet, there are more than I ever planned on using. Pros: was super easy to set up and very straight forward. the variety of decoders is amazing, not sure Dolby Atmos is worth the investment yet, but love the quality of sound I get now. Con: The volume has to be turned up fairly high before you start to hear sound and even higher to get the right volume. It from 0-100 and sound starts around 30-35 for me, and I set it between 60-75 to get the right volume, different services have different sound levels and this is the reason for the range.

Bought this to to upgrade my aging Onkyo 5.1 home theater in a box from 15 years ago. So many more features so much easier to use. The settings can be a little overwhelming, but the auto setup will get you close. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to either update an existing system or just getting into high end home audio.

Plenty of power for and easy to set up with my 5.1 klipsch speakers. I did notice parts of sound tracks I had been missing before. I upgraded from a very old denon 1802 receiver. I have an lg uhd tv and s couple of blu ray players, one s 4K Sony. The new gear turns equipment on automatically and that takes some getting used to. I don’t always want everything on. Remote did become unresponsive once but the solution is in the documentation, which is unfortunately only available online. Had one other minor glitch but cleared it up by turning everything off and back on. I think this was a great value for the close out price of around 300$.

The receiver has all the features/specs of the Sony I was looking at, but at a favorable price point. As a non-audiofile who appreciates above average sound, I paired it with a Paradigm center channel, Bose 301s for the right and left, Klipsch sub, and 2 Klipsch remote speakers and I couldn’t be happier.

Receiver worked great and was a huge upgrade from my old one, lots of surround decoders and BT. I think it even rejuvenated my old speakers but that may just be my imagination. Lightning killed it after only 2 months though. Gotta start saving up again.

Everything works great with good sound/video quality, but I had problems with signal loss when running my Apple TV through the receiver and then to my TV. The picture would cut out and then lose all signal completely. Evidently this is a common problem. I solved it by connecting my Apple TV 4k directly to the TV and the audio travels to the receiver via the ARC channel. So no big deal in the end...just frustrating.

I bought this as a replacement for my 10 year old receiver. It works and sounds great. Easy to use, and sounds great despite my using the same speakers from 20 years ago! :)

I desperately needed a 4K HDR passthrough receiver with some power and I always go with Onkyo so I bought this one on sale. I would have given it 5 stars if it only supported Dolby TrueHD. It supports Dolby Atmos and DTS-HD Master sounds formats but somehow TrueHD was left out. Other than that, it’s a simple powerful receiver with a great amount of inputs.

Nice features. It has a full sound and easy setup. My only complaint is that even after adjusting the speakers I didn't get the higher pitched sounds as much as I prefer. Good receiver, but ultimately returned it for a different model. I think a lot of people would love this receiver, it just wasn't for me.

This is my send Onkyo Receiver, the last one was great, but had to replace it only because it was 17 years old and did not have HDMI connections for my new 4K TV. Easy set ups and great sound for an semi entry level unit.

This is a really nice receiver. It was very easy to setup and feels of good quality. This receiver is also filled with great tech. My only gripe is that the receiver feels like it is lacking power when compared to my old Sony receiver.

Great product. Easy to set up. Lot's of options and great power. Also has two zone output. Spent more than I planned but I have had less expensive units that did not last, and were a nightmare to set up
