I'm a military/action movie junkie so when I heard about this movie I couldn't wait for the Blu Ray to come out. This movie has had world-wide popularity and has had phenomenal reviews. The movie did not disappoint for one second. From beginning to end it grabs your adrenaline and boosts it up to where you are on edge of seat the entire time. The action is gritty and non stop. This is based on true events so it makes you feel and understand how much stress and terror the Chinese crew actually endured. It also makes you feel very impressed how well these military crews are trained and how elite they are handling weapons. The story is well written and acting good. I highly recommend this movie to those who love action and military style genre. I rate it as one of the top action movies ever made.

This was a great action movie. The language is in Mandarin but since it is a combat movie the dialogue is in short sentences that are easy to read even for a slow reader like me. It is graphic in its depiction of combat. f your squeamish or have small child you might want to consider this before watching. I really enjoyed this movie.

These war stories sound and relate to our military heroes who have served overseas and have fought for our freedom. I bought this because I thought my Navy husband would like this movie

This movie has a lot of action. It is about the Chinese Navy. It seemed a bit cheesy and the plot is kind of here and there at times but overall enjoyable. Worth $13 purchase.

This sequel doesn't disappoint. More action, fighting and explosions. If you are an old-school adrenaline junkie, this movie will get your fix.

Action packed from start to finish... scenes were not repetitive or fake looking cgi. Would highly recommend

I put this on the same level as WOLF WARRIOR 2. The action scenes are fantastic, and it has a good story.

Great movie must see it's on Point i hope they make a part 2

This is the kind that I like,have always loved war movies.

I was looking for an action movie so I bought it. The action was good but too much of propaganda.

This movie was a movie I bought for my husband. A war story and a fight for survival.

This brutal action movie is a cross between Blackhawk Down and a Michael Bay action film. There are big explosions and horrific body parts strewn across as the aftermath. If one does not have the stomach to view the bloody mess, or does not like reading English subtitles (it is not dubbed, but spoke mostly in Mandarin) might be best to skip this movie. This is a second movie depicting an elite Chinese military commando unit. (The first movie was Operation Mekong.) This commando team is trained in Western European/ American weapons, has a sniper team, communications specialist, bomb technician, a female automatic weapons gunner (think of Vasquez from the Aliens movie), and led by a Captain. The main plot of the movie has the team serving on a Navy ship against Somali pirates. Then the action moves to a middle eastern country that has split into a civil war. The commandos are sent in to rescue Chinese citizens for evacuation and partner with the local nation’s army. While trying to rescue the Chinese civilians, they have to battle a terrorist group that is well equipped with mortars and tanks. The fight becomes very deadly, including the civilians being evacuated and the commandos. Of course, the Chinese Navy shows off its modern ships that have anti-rocket gatling guns (similar to the US Navy), armed unmanned aerial vehicle, and gliding parachuting suits (similar to those used in one of the Transformers movies) along with the political message at the end that the Chinese government will help rescue their citizens if trapped in a foreign country’s civil war (they actually show the emergency phone number to call). There are some crazy battle scenes where miraculous escapes occur (such as randomly finding an anti-aircraft rocket when needed), but is still neat to watch tanks racing across the desert and slugging it out, along with the sniper scenes. Overall an entertaining movie and understand why this is one of the top 10 international gross ticket sale movies in 2018. Sadly, the special features do not show how they filmed the movie on location in Morocco, in cooperation with the local government. It would have been interesting to learn how the set up the sites and coordinated the action scenes.
