Orange is the new Black is a great series! It's a drama about a serious subject but has enough comedy in it to through you off and ease the tension a little. It is a "fish out of water" story about a normal young lady who did something stupid and it caught up with her years later. She ended up in prison which of course is a whole different world from her normal life. It shows how she learned to adjust to living behind bars with a large group of women. All the woman have very different personalities and they all have different reasons for being there. But it also shows that as much as people are different they are also alike. Everyone wants and needs love and friendship, no matter what their situation is, and both are developed during this show.

Jenji Kohan's newest endeavor, Orange is the new black, is a sitcom similar in concept to Weeds but based in a women's prison and out in the real world. The ordinary main character starts the story but it is the interaction of the supporting characters and their lives that really drives the show. Taylor Schilling is terrific as the main character Piper Chapman and the supporting cast is full of main line stars such as Jason Biggs, Laura Prepon, Kate Mulgrew, Taryn Manning, Pablo Schreiber, Natasha Lyonne, Laverne Cox, Uzo Aduba and many others. The comedy and dialogue is Kohanesque so if you liked Weeds give Orange a chance!

Orange is the New Black is a television show for a new generation of viewers. As one of Netflix's flagship shows, it is meant to be consumed in one delicious gulp. It has everything you could want in a series: interesting and complex characters from all walks of life, a strong sense of place and world building, hilarious and heartbreaking writing, and a dynamic group of actors who are giving it there all every episode. It's one of my favorites and I had to own a physical copy just in case I ever decide to give up my Netflix subscription.

Starts off a show about a soon to be married woman going to prison for a past crime that has caught up to her. It seems like its always going to be about her just trying to fit in but as the show continues it becomes more interesting to learn about her fellow inmates and their different cliques and how they all interact. Its a grand web of violence, sneakiness, affairs, corruption and just some weird stuff too. Despite the setting, there is a lot of good laughs and the characters are all great and you just want to know more about them.

my brother mentioned this series to me 4 he learned about it from Netflix. I was intrigued and stated I will purchase the season once released on DVD.I spent the entire day to watch it in Marathon and was pleasantly surprised.I am familiar with the director for I own every season of weeds.I later found out this is a true story loosely based on a soccer mom and her experience in going to prison.it shows the humanity and that everyone has a story for she was certainly a fish out of water in that type of environment.I'm interested to see what happens in season 2

I did not see this when it was first televised but I heard all about it from reviewers and friends who said it was a much watch. After getting it and watching it in a binge I must agree. It is very real and funny like Weeds was. They are by the same folks so I can see the humor spilling over. The acting is very good and the characters are well developed and you will begin to make them a part of your team. Great shows for season 1. Loved it!!

Bought this for my best friend for Christmas. She had heard about the show but with no pay channels hadn't seen it. She brought it over & we spent an entire Saturday watching it. It's good enough to almost make you want to add pay channels! You will laugh, cry, laugh, get angry & did I mention laugh? Too bad a major network hasn't picked it up-it is a winner from start to finish. Guess season 2 for her next Christmas!!!!!!!!

If you are looking for a dramatic comedy to fall in love with, this is the series for you. The characters are well developed and you find yourself routing for the prisoners. There are several layers and dimensions that make this program a good watch. The HD Blu Ray brings clean and crisp images with excellent sound. The only drawback is that you will want to purchase seasons 2 and 3 immediately!

While the major cable networks passed on this drama, it found it home on Netflix and for that we are all winners. Given complete creative freedom creator, Jenjie Kohan, has created a masterful show. Season 1 is nothing short of spectacular. The characters are rich and complex and this diverse cast offers something you haven't seen on TV. No spoilers here... just watch the show and enjoy it all.

As this is the latest project from Weeds creator, Jenji Kohan, I didn't really know what to expect. Without spoiling anything, I will say that this is an original take on a prison series that has a little something for everyone. Netflix definitely has a sleeper hit on its hands. Adult driven and somewhat of a female version of Oz, this is a nice change of pace given the comedic nature of the show.

I want to say thanks best buy for carrying this title and causing me to binge watch this show! It was funny and touching and episode after episode I lost track of time. One minute I had just taken a show and the next it was Sunday night. I snap to and had the same clothes on, unshowered, and chips in my hair and on my shirt. So yeah...I would say I like it....

ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK IS DEFINITELY FOR ADULTS ONLY. IT TOOK ME A WHILE TO GET INTO IT BUT IN NO TIME AT ALL I WAS HOOKED.......THIS IS A 4 DISC DVD AND IS GREAT ENTERTAINMENT. THE PRICE WAS UNREAL. I LOVED IT SO MUCH I ALREADY BOUGHT SEASON TWO BUT HAVEN'T WATCHED IT YET...... ITS FUNNY, ITS SERIOUS, ITS SAD......IT IS SUPER WATCHING....

Heard about this show and wasn't sure I would really like it at first, but once I started watching I couldn't stop until I finished the entire season. It's such an amazing and addicting show to watch. So many things going on and getting to learn all about each of the characters in the shows lives before prison and how they got in jail.

When I first learned about Netflix producing their own original series, I literally rolled my eyes. With that in mind I was intrigued to see the quality and production budget so gave the first episode of Orange is the New Black a try. BRAVO Netflix !!! You had me hooked from day one, this is by far one of the best shows out there!!! Give it a Try!!!!

After listening to a friend's recommendation, I decided to purchase Orange is the new black on Blu-ray. I am so happy I did so. Not only is it very humorous, but the character development is also quite good. If if you were looking for a new series to binge watch, this is the one to get. I can't wait to get the next season.

I had heard the hype about this show from EVERYONE and then finally took the plunge. Although it's all available on Netflix, provided you're a subscriber, I couldn't pass this up on Black Friday for such a cheap price -- especially when there's no guarantee Netflix won't pull the show.

Never watched Orange is the new black so I thought buying season 1 and season 2 for a long road trip would be great. It was a good watch, funny, interesting, a total chick flick but make sure you watch it when the kids are sleeping or if you are on a road trip like I was make sure you are wearing headphones with no kids sitting behind you its 100% an adult show but I enjoyed it. Its not as funny and interested as WEEDS was but it was still good.

Couldn't stop watching it! I saw the first and second season all on Netflix when it first came out but it's nice to have the blue ray version too. Crystal clear picture! The show gets you so involve with each character and curious about the others. Glad I bought this to add to my favorites.

I am a new fan of this series. Can't wait for the next season bcuz I don't have Netflix. BB has a great selection of DVDs (bcuz I haven't upgraded to blue ray) and I already know what series I'll purchase next. I also love the clean, spacious store. Much appreciated! Thanks!

This is an extremely bold & graphic series, it really crosses some lines, or treads lightly, some pretty dark humor,& some lighthearted fun! great characters, excellent acting, it is a comedy, but also has a very serious side to it! ive really enjoyed it so far & looking forward to more!
